The Ministry to the Instutionalized Sick
In treating the ministry to the institutionalized sick, two approaches are possible. The one is a discussion of the purpose or goal of the ministry to the sick. Simply put, the goal is to reconcile people to God. The entire ministry to souls in every phase of the church\u27s work centers in this; “we pray you in Christ\u27s stead, be ye reconciled to God. (II Cor. 5:20) Basic is the concept that men in the ministry are to lead people to a right relationship with God though Christ.
The other approach is a discussion of the means for achieving described purpose. The concern of this paper is the second approach. Accordingly, the paper falls into two main sections: 1) The Christian Pastor as God\u27s way for reaching the institutionalized sick with His Gospel. 2) The Holy Gospel as the pastor’s tool for giving God to people through the Holy Spirit.
