    L’évolution des comportements des enfants ĂągĂ©s de 5 ans et moins et les stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives des Ă©ducatrices ayant participĂ© au programme Unisson implantĂ© en services de garde

    Ce sont 25 % des enfants canadiens dĂ©butant la maternelle qui n’auront pas la maturitĂ© affective pour faire une entrĂ©e scolaire rĂ©ussie (Kershaw, Irwin, Trafford et Hertzman, 2005). Les enfants d’ñge prĂ©scolaire chez qui les comportements perturbateurs perdurent aussi Ă  l’ñge scolaire sont plus Ă  risque de prĂ©senter des troubles concomitants, tels des troubles neurodĂ©veloppementaux ou de santĂ© mentale (Charach, Ageranioti BĂ©langer, McLennan et Nixon, 2017). Afin de prĂ©venir les difficultĂ©s de comportements des enfants en milieu de garde, le programme Unisson (Boscoville, s.d.) a Ă©tĂ© Ă©laborĂ©. Ce programme vise, en plus, Ă  optimiser le dĂ©veloppement socioaffectif et l’adaptation des enfants. Cette premiĂšre Ă©tude au sujet du programme Unisson a pour but d’explorer l’évolution du comportement des enfants et des stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives du personnel Ă©ducateur participant au programme Unisson Ă  l’aide de trois questions de recherche : 1) « À quel point le programme Unisson sera-t-il implantĂ© comme prĂ©vu dans le milieu de garde Ă©ducatif? »; 2) « Quelle sera l’évolution sur le plan des stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives visĂ©es par Unisson employĂ©es par les Ă©ducatrices suite Ă  leur participation Ă  ce programme? »; 3) « Quelle sera l’évolution des comportements des enfants ayant participĂ© au programme Unisson ?». Dans le but d’obtenir des rĂ©ponses Ă  ces questions, un Ă©chantillon de 29 enfants ainsi que deux Ă©ducatrices d’un milieu de garde en centre de la petite enfance de la rĂ©gion de MontrĂ©al ont participĂ© au programme Unisson et Ă  la prĂ©sente Ă©tude. Avec un devis de type prĂ©-post avec groupe unique, les comportements des enfants ainsi que les stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives du personnel Ă©ducateur ont Ă©tĂ© Ă©valuĂ©s Ă  deux reprises : une premiĂšre fois avant l’implantation d’Unisson en aoĂ»t 2018, puis une seconde fois (entre juin et aoĂ»t 2019 pour les comportements des enfants et Ă  l’automne 2019 pour les stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives). Des analyses statistiques ont ensuite permis de traiter les donnĂ©es : le test de rang de Wilcoxon a Ă©tĂ© utilisĂ© pour l’analyse de l’évolution des stratĂ©gies Ă©ducatives du personnel Ă©ducateur, puis le test du khi-deux a Ă©tĂ© utilisĂ© pour Ă©valuer l’évolution du comportement des enfants participants. Les rĂ©sultats Ă©manant de ces analyses permettent, entre autres, de statuer sur la pertinence de la poursuite des Ă©tudes concernant Unisson, notamment en ce qui a trait Ă  l’efficacitĂ© de ce programme

    Research on technological interventions for young children with autism spectrum disorders : a scoping review

    Researchers have widely reported using technological interventions to support young children with autism spectrum disorder. Given the abundance and diversity of research on the topic, the authors conducted a scoping review of 158 studies published from 1994 to 2019 to provide a current state of the literature and guide future research. Overall, the results indicate that video modeling, communication aids, and discrete trial instruction have been the topic of the most studies in the research literature. Moreover, most researchers have used single-case designs and combined technology with some type of adult provided support. Findings suggest that future studies should compare the use of different devices and interventions directly together while better isolating the unique contribution of technology when evaluating its effects

    Feeding difficulties in children with food allergies: An EAACI Task Force Report

    The term “feeding difficulties” refers to a spectrum of phenotypes characterized by suboptimal intake of food and/or lack of age‐appropriate eating habits. While it is evident that feeding difficulties are prevalent within healthy children, no consensus has been reached for those with food allergies. The aim of this study was to systematically review all the available literature reporting the prevalence of feeding difficulties within food allergic children. We searched eight international electronic databases for all published studies until June 2022. International experts in the field were also contacted for unpublished and ongoing studies. All publications were screened against pre‐defined eligibility criteria and critically appraised by established instruments. The substantial heterogeneity of included studies precluded meta‐analyses, so narrative synthesis of quantitative data was performed. A total of 2059 abstracts were assessed, out of which 21 underwent full‐text screening and 10 studies met the study criteria. In these, 12 different terms to define feeding difficulties and 11 diagnostic tools were used. Five papers included data of feeding difficulty prevalence in children with food allergies, ranging from 13.6% to 40%. Higher prevalence was associated with multiple food allergies. The current literature suggests that feeding difficulties are prevalent within food allergic children, particularly those with multiple food allergies. However, the heterogeneity of terminologies and diagnostic tools makes drawing conclusions challenging. Consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and management of feeding difficulties within food allergic children and further research on the development and perpetuation of feeding difficulties are needed to appropriately manage such patients
