The Pact between Raymond della Torre, Patriarch of Aquileia, and the Commune of Venice (February 18, 1275): An Addition to Pacta Veneta 12
The author edits and analyzes a pact concluded in February 1275 between Patriarch of Aquileia Raymond della Torre and Doge Lorenzo Tiepolo and the Commune of Venice. The pact is shown to be essentially a confirmation of an older treaty signed in 1254 between Patriarch Gregory of Montelongo and Doge Reniero Zeno with only a few additional articles. The pact is contextualized within the broader setting of the Patriarchate of Aquileia at the beginning of Raymondās reign. In this pact, the Venetians readily expanded their rights and prerogatives within the Patriarchate of Aquileia with each new treaty, yet offered very little in return. The patriarchs, however, were in dire need of Venice as an ally and Venetian traders to replenish their depleted treasury, hence the willingness to sign pacts that clearly favored the Venetians
King Otto IVās Donation of the Margraviate of Istria to the Patriarchate of Aquileia: Augsburg, 13th of January, 1209
The author analyzes the donation charter issued by King Otto IV during the Diet of Augsburg to Patriarch Wolfger and the Church of Aquileia, bestowing upon the recipient the temporal jurisdiction over the Margraviate of Istria. The charter has remained unedited and unknown to historiography to this day, fostering some erroneous interpretations of the events and circumstances that led to this fateful event in January of 1209. First, the author explicates the context surrounding the issuing of this donation charter, showing that newly recognized King Otto IV had much to gain from allying with Patriarch Wolfger. Second, the charter is analyzed from a diplomatic point of view, showing that the document, preserved only as a vidimus from 1303, is indeed authentic. The author concludes by viewing the donation through analytical lenses of Marcel Maussās theory of the gift. The paper ends with the critical edition of the charter and its translation into contemporary English

āRoute 66ā: The pop-cultural trip to the west
This paper will examine the touristic travels along the most famous nonfunctional highway in the United States - the Route 66. This āiconic routeā is represented as the āroad to the heart of Americaā, āthe American odysseyā, as a place which comprises the āgood old American valuesā and builds its attractiveness as a tourist destination on the narratives about the road formerly developed in literature (the āroad genreā), film (the āroad movieā), and music. Route 66 meant different things for the travelers in different historical periods: in times of the Great Depression it was the road of hope and better life in the West; in the postwar period, the attractions along the road were the favorite resort of Americans; in the 70ās and 80ās it only represented a demolished artifact of the past; and from the 90ās on, it became the object of nostalgia and economic revival of the small towns surrounding it. Analyzing the content of the Internet forum, blogs and web pages where tourists and fans of the Road 66 meet, we will try to show to which extent, if any, the representations of this road, perpetuated in the popular culture, correspond to the experiences of the tourist voyages, and their motivation to take this road

Hrvatski filozofi II: Juraj DragiÅ”iÄ ā Georgius Benignus de Salviatis (ca. 1445ā1520)
The article presents the life and work of Juraj DragiÅ”iÄ, a philosophical and theological writer, as one of the most important and influential Croatian philosphers of 15th and 16th century. A brief presentation of his university and ecclesiastical career is followed by a closer examination of some of DragiÅ”iÄās works in which he discusses a whole range of philosophical, theological, and logical issues, such as the problem of the authenticity of prophecies, freedom of will, restoration of Christianity, logics, and dialectical skill, and others. In the conclusion, it has been pointed out that DragiÅ”iÄ was, not only due to his works, but also his ecclesiastic and political
career, a true man of his time that in the intellectual sense anticipates certain tendencies which are to become prominent in the mid of the 16th century.U Älanku se donosi prikaz života i rada filozofskog i teoloÅ”kog pisca Jurja DragiÅ”iÄa, kao jednog od najznaÄajnijih i najutjecajnijih hrvatskih filozofa 15. i 16. stoljeÄa.
