In waste water, phosphorous (P) can exist in inorganic or organic forms. Depending on the concentration, P can cause eutrophication and severe environmental pollution. Microorganisms have the ability to use and accumulate P, so microorganisms are studied to treat P in waste water in general and wastewater from cassava starch processing plants in particular. Research results show that in the 20 samples of waste water and sludge of the plant has selected three strains of bacteria that can accumulate P in the form of granules in the cell. Among them, SHV22 has the highest P accumulation capacity, reaching 3.05x10-11 mg/cell, P removal efficiency in wastewater from cassava starch processing factory is 82.1%. The strain was identified as Bacillus amyloliquefaciens.

Introduction The role of some cytokines, such as interleukin (IL) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), in serum in community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) has been mentioned. There are few results on changes in serum cytokines in patients with bacterial CAP. This study aimed at the relationship between serum TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 levels, disease severity, and changes in serum cytokines in patients with bacterial CAP. Methods A descriptive follow-up study was conducted on 78 hospitalized patients with CAP. Serum IL-6, IL-10, and TNF-α levels were measured by fluorescence covalent microbead immunosorbent assay technique. Changes in serum cytokine levels were measured on admission’s first and seventh day. Results TNF-α, IL-6, and IL-10 medians were 0.76, 2.15, and 1.18 pg/ mL, respectively. There was no difference in interleukin levels between the two groups, namely those aged 0.05). The levels of IL-10 in patients with Gram-positive bacteria pneumonia were significantly higher than those with Gram-negative bacteria (2.23 pg/mL vs 1.15 pg/mL, respectively, p=0.03). Logistic regression analysis revealed that IL-10 (OR=0.92; 95% CI: 0.86–0.99, p=0.03) was associated with the prognosis of disease severity. IL-6 levels decreased statistically on day 7 after treatment (1.12 pg/mL vs 2.15 pg/mL, p=0.003). The change in TNF-α and IL-10 after treatment was not significant (p>0.05). Conclusions Serum IL-10 levels during hospitalization time are related to the prognosis of disease severity. After 7 days of treatment, IL-6 levels decreased statistically; however, TNF-α and IL-10 levels did not change

SHREC 2021: Retrieval of cultural heritage objects

This paper presents the methods and results of the SHREC’21 track on a dataset of cultural heritage (CH) objects. We present a dataset of 938 scanned models that have varied geometry and artistic styles. For the competition, we propose two challenges: the retrieval-by-shape challenge and the retrieval-by-culture challenge. The former aims at evaluating the ability of retrieval methods to discriminate cultural heritage objects by overall shape. The latter focuses on assessing the effectiveness of retrieving objects from the same culture. Both challenges constitute a suitable scenario to evaluate modern shape retrieval methods in a CH domain. Ten groups participated in the challenges: thirty runs were submitted for the retrieval-by-shape task, and twenty-six runs were submitted for the retrieval-by-culture task. The results show a predominance of learning methods on image-based multi-view representations to characterize 3D objects. Nevertheless, the problem presented in our challenges is far from being solved. We also identify the potential paths for further improvements and give insights into the future directions of research

Vietnam's Political Economy: A Discussion on the 1986-2016 Period

Being a member of the thriving ASEAN and successfully implementing economic renovation (Doi Moi) have drawn the world's attention on Vietnam around the turn of the millennium. Some even expected a much faster pace of transformation, and renewed economic, AND political, reforms in Vietnam, or Doi Moi II.However, in the recent transition turmoil the Vietnamese economy has experienced some significant setback, and the solution for getting the country out of the downward spiral of low productivity, waning purchasing power and increasing costs of doing business cannot be worked out without addressing those political economy issues that have shaped the modus operandi of the nation's economic system. This article discusses the post-Doi Moi political economy in Vietnam, from 1986 to 2016 – when the 12th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam takes place – and prospects of reviving reform momentum in subsequent years.info:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
