On a Holographic Model for Confinement/Deconfinement
We study the thermodynamics of the hard wall model, which consists in the
introduction of an infrared cut-off in asymptotically AdS spaces. This is a toy
model for confining backgrounds in the context of the gauge/gravity
correspondence. We use holographic renormalization and reproduce the existence
of a Hawking Page phase transition recently discussed by Herzog. We also show
that the entropy jumps from to , which reinforces the interpretation
of this transition as the gravity dual of confinement/deconfinement. We also
show that similar results hold for the phenomenologically motivated soft wall
model, underlining the potential universality of our analysis.Comment: 14 pages. V2: We included a new section discussing the soft wall
model and new references. V3: We clarified some points and updated the

Defining the business ecosystem of peer-to-peer electricity trading
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to introduce the value proposition and structure of the business ecosystem of peer-to-peer electricity trading through a future oriented approach. Design/Methodology/Approach: This study follows a qualitative approach. It conducts conceptual analyses by utilizing previously validated tools in similar contexts. First, different views on business ecosystems are introduced and an argument is made to justify an ecosystem perspective for peerto-peer electricity trading. Second, the value proposition of the peer-to-peer electricity trading ecosystem is identified by utilising a meta-model which consists of four elements: end customer value, business value (shareholder value), collaborative value (business value to the supply chain) and societal value (value creation in the supply chain and control of negative externalities). Third, based on the structural view of business ecosystems, the study identifies actors, positions, links, and activities in the traditional electricity trading. And last, (structural) changes of the ecosystem for peer-to-peer electricity trading are discussed. Findings: This paper elaborates the business ecosystem of peer-to-peer electricity trading and highlights the structural changes it imposes to the status quo. Practical and social implications: The ecosystem construct adds insights into actors’ ecosystem strategy regarding their business models for peer-to-peer electricity trading as well as into the governance of this type of trading. It provides a comprehensive view for policy makers. It enhances the research designs in detailed aspects of the peer-to-peer electricity trading by providing a wide lense. Originality/Value: The identified business ecosystem of peer-to-peer electricity trading provides a comprehensive, multi-stakeholder perspective to incorporate complexities and include externalities
Role of diet in type 2 diabetes incidence: umbrella review of meta-analyses of prospective observational studies
OBJECTIVE: To summarise the evidence of associations between dietary factors and incidence of type 2 diabetes and to evaluate the strength and validity of these associations. DESIGN: Umbrella review of systematic reviews with meta-analyses of prospective observational studies. DATA SOURCES: PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase, searched up to August 2018. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: Systematic reviews with meta-analyses reporting summary risk estimates for the associations between incidence of type 2 diabetes and dietary behaviours or diet quality indices, food groups, foods, beverages, alcoholic beverages, macronutrients, and micronutrients. RESULTS: 53 publications were included, with 153 adjusted summary hazard ratios on dietary behaviours or diet quality indices (n=12), food groups and foods (n=56), beverages (n=10), alcoholic beverages (n=12), macronutrients (n=32), and micronutrients (n=31), regarding incidence of type 2 diabetes. Methodological quality was high for 75% (n=115) of meta-analyses, moderate for 23% (n=35), and low for 2% (n=3). Quality of evidence was rated high for an inverse association for type 2 diabetes incidence with increased intake of whole grains (for an increment of 30 g/day, adjusted summary hazard ratio 0.87 (95% confidence interval 0.82 to 0.93)) and cereal fibre (for an increment of 10 g/day, 0.75 (0.65 to 0.86)), as well as for moderate intake of total alcohol (for an intake of 12-24 g/day v no consumption, 0.75 (0.67 to 0.83)). Quality of evidence was also high for the association for increased incidence of type 2 diabetes with higher intake of red meat (for an increment of 100 g/day, 1.17 (1.08 to 1.26)), processed meat (for an increment of 50 g/day, 1.37 (1.22 to 1.54)), bacon (per two slices/day, 2.07 (1.40 to 3.05)), and sugar sweetened beverages (for an increase of one serving/day, 1.26 (1.11 to 1.43)). CONCLUSIONS: Overall, the association between dietary factors and type 2 diabetes has been extensively studied, but few of the associations were graded as high quality of evidence. Further factors are likely to be important in type 2 diabetes prevention; thus, more well conducted research, with more detailed assessment of diet, is needed. Multidimensional Poverty Measurement and Analysis: Chapter 2 - The Framework
This working paper introduces the notation and basic concepts that are used throughout the OPHI Working Papers 82-91. The Paper has five sections. First we review unidimensional poverty measurement with particular attention to the well-known Foster-Greer-Thorbecke measures of income poverty as many methods presented in OPHI Working Paper 84 (Chapter 3 – Overview of Methods for Multidimensional Poverty Assessment) as well as the measure presented in OPHI Working Papers 86-90 (Chapters 5-9) are based on these measures. The second section introduces the notation and basic concepts for multidimensional poverty measurement that are used in subsequent chapters. Third we define indicators’ scales of measurement, and fourth, addressissues of comparability across people and dimensions. The fifth section systematically explains different properties that have been proposed in axiomatic approaches to multidimensional poverty measurement, which enable the analyst to understand the ethical principles embodied in a measure and to be aware of the direction of change they will exhibit under certain transformations
Virtual Compton Scattering off a Spinless Target in AdS/QCD
We study the doubly virtual Compton scattering off a spinless target
within the Anti-de Sitter(AdS)/QCD formalism. We find
that the general structure allowed by the Lorentz invariance and gauge
invariance of the Compton amplitude is not easily reproduced with the standard
recipes of the AdS/QCD correspondence. In the soft-photon regime, where the
semi-classical approximation is supposed to apply best, we show that the
measurements of the electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a target like the
charged pion in real Compton scattering, can already serve as stringent tests.Comment: 21 pages, version to be published in JHEP
Barriers for prosumers’ open business models: a resource-based view on assets and data-sharing in electricity markets
This article explores the barriers for open business models in support of sustainability in electricity markets. It puts forward privacy and data protection concerns about sharing prosumers’ physical assets as well as data due to to their critical role in decentralized modes of electricity/flexibility trading. In particular, it uses a multiple case study approach to identify actors’ resources, examine other interested actors in each resource, define their objectives, and consider privacy and data protection concerns of sharing prosumers’ physical assets and data. The findings yield new insights into sharing opportunities beyond electricity/flexibility trading. In doing so, our study contributes to theories of the firm by applying the resource-based view in a new context and to the business model literature by shedding light on barriers in applying open business models
Experimental study of a liquid Xenon PET prototype module
A detector using liquid Xenon in the scintillation mode is studied for
Positron Emission Tomography (PET). The specific design aims at taking full
advantage of the liquid Xenon properties. It does feature a promising
insensitive to any parallax effect. This work reports on the performances of
the first LXe prototype module, equipped with a position sensitive PMT
operating in the VUV range (178 nm).Comment: Proc. of the 7th International Workshops on Radiation Imaging

Hawking-Page Phase Transition of black Dp-branes and R-charged black holes with an IR Cutoff
We show that the confinement-deconfinement phase transition of supersymmetric
Yang-Mills theories with 16 supercharges in various dimensions can be realized
through the Hawking-Page phase transition between the near horizon geometries
of black Dp-branes and BPS Dp-branes by removing a small radius region in the
geometry in order to realize a confinement phase, which generalizes the
Herzog's discussion for the holographic hard-wall AdS/QCD model. Removing a
small radius region in the gravitational dual corresponds to introducing an IR
cutoff in the dual field theory. We also discuss the Hawking-Page phase
transition between thermal , , spaces and R-charged AdS
black holes coming from the spherical reduction of the decoupling limit of
rotating D3-, M2-, and M5- branes in type IIB supergravity and 11 dimensional
supergravity in grand canonical ensembles, where the IR cutoff also plays a
crucial role in the existence of the phase transition.Comment: 34 pages, 18 figures, JHEP3, v2, references added, v3, some
