The Role of Serum Neutrophil Gelatinase-associated Lipocalin in the Early Diagnosis of Nephropathy in Patients with Acute Alcohol Poisoning
AIM: In our study, we assessed the possibility of using the serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) for the early detection of kidney damage in patients with acute alcohol poisoning (AAP).
METHODS: The study included 89 patients and 30 healthy donors. All participants in the study were mostly represented by men (90%) aged between 20 and 40 years. The influence of alcohol poisoning severity was also taken into account in the study. The Human NGAL ELISA Kit was used for the quantitative detection of serum NGAL. We also evaluated the main laboratory indicators of kidney functions, including eGFR (calculated according to serum creatinine).
RESULTS: We did not find a correlation between blood alcohol concentration and serum NGAL level; also, alcohol poisoning severity did not affect the NGAL values. The results of our study showed the possibility of using the serum NGAL in patients with AAP to detect the preclinical stage of reduced renal function, until the moment when it can be diagnosed with using only serum creatinine.
CONCLUSION: We propose to consider an increase in eGFR together with an increase in serum NGAL in this group of patients as a stage, preceding nephropathy, even in the absence of clinical and laboratory signs of impaired renal function
Preparation of encapsulated Ξ±-tocopherol acetate and study of its physico-chemical and biological properties
The article discusses the results of research for obtaining encapsulated vitamin E using a water-soluble oligosaccharide (cyclodextrin). The inclusion complexes of Ξ²-CD with Ξ±-tocopherol were obtained in an aqueousalcoholic medium by coprecipitation and microwave activation. The highest yields of target clathrate inclusion complexes of vitamin E with cyclodextrin were obtained under microwave synthesis conditions. Molecular modeling of inclusion complexes of Ξ±-tocopherol acetate with Ξ²-cyclodextrin in the ratios of 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, and 1:4 was performed using the MM+ method. Based on semi-empirical PM3 calculations, without taking into account the influence of the environment, the total energy of the systems under study was estimated. Data on the study of the structure of the clathrate complex of Ξ±-tocopherol acetate with Ξ²-cyclodextrin was presented. The surface morphology of the resulting βguest-hostβ clathrate complex was described using a scanning electron microscope. The spectral properties of the inclusion complex were characterized by FT-IR and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy data. The study of the 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectra of Ξ²-CD in the free and bound state in the form of the Ξ²-CD: VE clathrate made it possible to reveal the displacements of the signals of the nuclei (Β± βΞ΄) 1H and 13C of the host molecule both in the region of weak and strong fields. The experimental results confirmed the possibility of the formation of inclusion complexes of Ξ±-tocopherol acetate with Ξ²-cyclodextrin at various ratios. The data on the study of the effect of encapsulated Ξ±-tocopherol acetate on the safety of food meat products was presented

FUNCTIONALLY ENRICHED MEAT PRODUCT WITH INCAPSULATED VITAMIN SUPPLEMENT
The article presents the study results of the functionally enriched meat product from lamb and ostrich meat with a biologically active additive. The fat-soluble vitamin complex "aevit" encapsulated with the food oligosaccharide Ξ²-cyclodextrin (E459) has been used as a functional ingredient. The use of poultry meat in the recipe allowed to obtain a product with high consumer properties. Based on the conducted experiments, a comparative characteristic of the physicochemical, energy, amino acid and organoleptic parameters of the obtained semi-smoked sausage products is given
Symmetry-preserving discrete schemes for some heat transfer equations
Lie group analysis of differential equations is a generally recognized
method, which provides invariant solutions, integrability, conservation laws
etc. In this paper we present three characteristic examples of the construction
of invariant difference equations and meshes, where the original continuous
symmetries are preserved in discrete models. Conservation of symmetries in
difference modeling helps to retain qualitative properties of the differential
equations in their difference counterparts.Comment: 21 pages, 4 ps figure
Lie point symmetries of difference equations and lattices
A method is presented for finding the Lie point symmetry transformations
acting simultaneously on difference equations and lattices, while leaving the
solution set of the corresponding difference scheme invariant. The method is
applied to several examples. The found symmetry groups are used to obtain
particular solutions of differential-difference equations
Specific features of intrafamily interaction in the families of preschool children aged 6-7 years who were premature at birth
Diagnostic studies of intrafamily interaction in 106 families who rise preschool older children born at the gestational age of 32-37 weeks have been made. The control group comprised 54 families who had full term age matched children. The study of the parents" attitude toward their family role and parent-child relationship was conducted according to the PARI methods. It has been stabled that specificities of intrafamily interaction are determined by the gestational age of the child at birth. It has been shown that families rising premature children who were born at 32-34 weeks of gestation are characterized by disturbed parental role family role and disturbed parent-child relationship. We have failed to identify differenceis in the character of intrafamily interaction between families of preschool children born at the gestational age of 35-37 weeks and families with full term preschool children. The data obtained confirm the necessity to diagnose intrafamily interaction and psychological assistance to families who rise preschool children aged 6-7 years who were premature at birth.ΠΡΠΎΠ²Π΅Π΄Π΅Π½Π° Π΄ΠΈΠ°Π³Π½ΠΎΡΡΠΈΠΊΠ° Π²Π½ΡΡΡΠΈΡΠ΅ΠΌΠ΅ΠΉΠ½ΡΡ

Characterization of the oxidative metabolism of erythrocytes in patients with community-acquired pneumonia
Free radical oxidation plays an important role in the development and exacerbation of the pathological process. Oxidative stress causes a disturbance of the rheological properties of red blood cells and modification of their membrane. Activation of processes of peroxidation of lipids disturbs the integrity of the erythrocyte membrane. In community-acquired pneumonia the study of oxidative metabolism of red blood cells, especially the oxidative modification of their proteins, dedicated to a limited number of studies. Oxidative modification of hemoglobin dissipate a key role in the development of inflammation induced by hypoxia. The aim of the research was to study indicators of oxidative stress, the content of oxidized modified proteins in the red blood cells and the permeability of their membranes to low-molecular-weight hydrophilic substances in patients with community-acquired pneumonia. The object of the study were the erythrocytes of blood of 33 patients with community-acquired pneumonia and 19 practically healthy persons of young and middle age from 27 to 42 years. Evidence of oxidative processes in red blood cells was a significant increase of the oxidized-modified proteins (carbonyl derivatives) in erythrocytes. The increase in the content of membrane-bound hemoglobin may also be due to the high level of lipid peroxidation in erythrocyte membranes. The results of the study showed the presence of intracellular oxidative stress in erythrocytes of patients with community-acquired pneumonia, which leads to damage to their membranes and release of hemoglobin into the blood plasma
