Search for R-parity Violation in Multilepton Final States in p-barp Collisions at sqrt{s}=1.8 TeV

The result of a search for gaugino pair production with a trilepton signature is reinterpreted in the framework of minimal supergravity (mSUGRA) with R-parity violation via leptonic lambda Yukawa couplings. The search used 95 pb^{-1} of p-barp collisions at sqrt{s}=1.8 TeV recorded by the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. A large domain of the mSUGRA parameter space is excluded for lambda_{121}, lambda_{122} > 10^{-4}.Comment: 17 pages, 4 figure

The Fibrous Proteins In Various Types Of Ichthyosis

The stratum corneum of individuals with ichthyosis vulgaris, sex-linked ichthyosis, lamellar ichthyosis, and epidermolytic hyperkeratosis has been studied. An α x-ray diffraction pattern has been observed in all specimens and the solubility of the a fibrous proteins appears to be the same as in normal stratum corneum. Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide electrophoresis of the fibrous proteins showed variable patterns within the different types of ichthyosis, while amino acid analyses of the proteins were quite similar to those from normal stratum corneum. These data suggest that the fibrous proteins in the ichthyosis are not abnormal, but further studies on the individual pulypeptide chains are necessary to rule out more subtle differences

The Fibrous Proteins Of Stratum Corneum

The proteins of cow snout stratum corneum can be extracted in pan with Tris buffer, pH 9.0, containing 6 M urea. Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis shows that about half the extracted material migrates as prekeratin when the extract is treated with both SDS and mercaptoethanol; only trace amounts of the proteins migrating as prekeratin are seen when SDS alone is used. The urea extract gives precipitin lines to an antibody against prekeratin. After exhaustive extraction with the Tris-urea buffer an additional amount of protein is solubilized by extraction with buffer containing mercaptoethanol. This extract shows an electrophoretic pattern similar but not identical to prekeratin. These results suggest that the stratum corneum contains fibrous proteins with different degrees of cross-linking. An analogous system has also been observed in human stratum corneum

Energie - Photovoltaik: Netzgekoppelte Anlagen

The new brochure called ''Photovoltaics - network-linked systems'' published by the Energy Information Center (IE) of the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg gives a comprehensive general view at the various aspects of photovoltaics. How a network-linked photovoltaics systems is built and how it functions, which quality criteria exist... all this information is given to potential operators of systems, planners and installers. The question of rentability is also discussed, pointing at avoidable expenditures during installation. For future operators, a project is carried out virtually, starting from the designing stage over agreements with the energy supplier up to the licencing procedures and insurance matters. Tax issued are also taken into consideration. Various incentives and support methods are discussed. Other subjects are the integration of network-linked photovoltaics systems into the power supply - also under the new conditions of the liberalized power market.Einen umfassenden Ueberblick ueber die verschiedenen Aspekte der Photovoltaik bietet die neue Broschuere 'Photovoltaik - netzgekoppelte Anlagen', die das Informationszentrum Energie (IE) des Landesgewerbeamts Baden-Wuerttemberg herausgegeben hat. Wie eine netzgekoppelte Photovoltaik-Anlage aufgebaut ist und funktioniert, welche Kriterien fuer Qualitaet es gibt - darueber koennen sich potentielle Betreiber von Anlagen, Planer und Installateure informieren. Es wird auch die Frage der Rentabilitaet diskutiert und auf vermeidbaren Installationsaufwand hingewiesen. Fuer kuenftige Anlagenbetreiber wird die Realisierung eines Projektes durchgespielt - von der Auslegung der Anlage ueber die Abstimmung mit dem Energieversorger bis hin zu Genehmigungs- und Versicherungsfragen. Zudem werden steuerrechtliche Aspekte beruecksichtigt sowie verschiedene Foerderverfahren diskutiert. Weitere Themen sind die Integration netzgekoppelter Photovoltaik-Anlagen in die Stromversorgung - auch unter den neuen Bedingungen des liberalisierten Strommarktes.
