    Get PDF
The foreign direct investment (FDI) has become more and more important over the last couple of decades. Known to be one of the latest factors to stimulate the economic growth, affecting directly the social and regional development, the foreign direct investment is now also one of Romania's priorities. The FDI is more than just a mechanism to help integrate a country into the world's economics; it is the liaison between the productive systems of different nations. This article will emphasize how important is the FDI to the sustainable development of the Romanian economy, by watching closely its impact on accumulation of fixed capital between 2003 and 2006. Therefore, we will see the FDI growth over the last few years. Romania has significantly improved in 2004, when the FDI went up to more than 5 bill euro. Nevertheless, the record value of FDI has been registered in 2006, reaching almost 9.1 bill euro. I believe that the FDI was quite relevant in developing the Romanian fixed capital.foreign direct investment, fixed capital, capital accumulation, tangible fixed assets

    Get PDF
This paper proposes a focus upon the aspects related to social indicators found in the social dashboards which are necessary for a good social enterprise management. The formal recognition of the need for social information took place in France, once with the promulgation of the social balance sheet law. It can be considered a dashboard with annual frequency, containing a number of indicators which allow a precise diagnosis of human resources and social aspects. The law of 1977 stated the social balance sheet by identifying aspects of human resources, with emphasis on social indicators. The paper presents in detail the milestones of emergence and evolution of social balance sheet, but also its objectives as a dashboard. The develop of social dashboards can be a guarantee of a good "social health” of the organizations in which they are perceived as a management tool because they simplify the Human Resources reporting and analysis.social management, social information, social indicators, social dashboards, social balance sheet

Moreover, highlighting the economic and financial consequences of their modification on the main key performance indicators of the company was considered. Analysis of the Structure Ratios of the Funding Sources

    Get PDF
The funding sources of the assets and liabilities in the balance sheet include equity capitals and the debts of the entity. The analysis of the structure rates of the funding sources allows for making assessments related to the funding policy, highlighting the financial autonomy and how resources are provided. Using the literature specializing in economic and financial analysis, this paper aims at presenting these rates that focus, on the one hand, to reflect the degree of financial dependence (the rate of financial stability, the rate of global financial autonomy, the rate of on-term financial autonomy) and on the other hand the debt structure (the rate of short-term debts, the global indebtedness rate, the on-term indebtedness rate). Based on the financial statements of an entity in the  Argeş County, I analysed these indicators, and I drew conclusions and made assessments related to the autonomy, indebtedness and financial stability of the studied entity

Towards Stem Cell Treatment for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy-Related Cardiomyopathy

    Get PDF
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is a progressive muscular degenerative disease affecting 1 in 3,500 boys. Cardiomyopathy is observed in 95% of patients aged 18 and older, accounting for 30% of deaths. While innovative treatments have been employed to curb symptoms in skeletal muscle, few show success in the heart, and no cure for DMD exists. Recently, regenerative therapy using cardiac stem cells (CSCs) has shown very promising results, but efficacy in DMD remains undetermined. This dissertation sought to provide preliminary insight into the effects of murine Sca-1+ CSC therapy. Three-dimensional echocardiography was validated and used to gauge cardiomyopathy in the mdx:utrn-/- mouse model. CSCs were isolated from healthy mice and displayed differentiation potential. They were implanted into mdx:utrn-/- mice under ultrasound guidance, and showed preliminary trends towards functional improvement. These results support the notion that stem cells may be an excellent avenue of therapy that should be further investigated

Identifying the Risk Factors to Postpartum Depression

    Get PDF
A woman’s life instantly changes after the birth of their child. Furthermore, culture influences the stigma that a mother is the primary caregiver of their children and are accountable for the health and upbringing of the child. Giving birth to a baby and taking up the responsibility of another human life is a great impact in a female’s existence. In addition to the new tasks that come with motherhood, women are also challenged to cope with their emotional and mental state after giving birth. The most chronic mental illness that can develop after labor is postpartum depression (PPD). Women who suffer from PPD are faced with the common symptoms of depression while still trying to uphold their duties as mothers. Since this mental crisis affects a large number of women around the country, it is pivotal to recognize the risk factors that influence the development of postpartum depression. Identifying the root sources of postpartum depression can improve the education, support, and care for these mothers. As healthcare providers, we can enhance the advocacy for mothers suffering from PPD which can improve the lives of the women, their families, and their children. This thesis contains a literature review, summarizing nine recent studies, followed by a proposal for further research

This study, based on statistical data at European level aims to highlight the results of these behaviours reflected in the productivity level in Romania and in the E
