A novel approach to light-front perturbation theory
We suggest a possible algorithm to calculate one-loop n-point functions
within a variant of light-front perturbation theory. The key ingredients are
the covariant Passarino-Veltman scheme and a surprising integration formula
that localises Feynman integrals at vanishing longitudinal momentum. The
resulting expressions are generalisations of Weinberg's infinite-momentum
results and are manifestly Lorentz invariant. For n = 2 and 3 we explicitly
show how to relate those to light-front integrals with standard energy
denominators. All expressions are rendered finite by means of transverse

Body fat estimates from bioelectrical impedance equations in cardiovascular risk assessment:The PREVEND cohort study
AIMS: To investigate prospectively the association of body fat percentage (BF%) estimates using various equations from bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) with cardiovascular events, compared with body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference. METHODS AND RESULTS: We used data of 34 BIA-BF%-equations that were used for estimation of BF% in 6486 (men = 3194, women = 3294) subjects. During a median follow-up of 8.3 years, 510 (7.9%) cardiovascular events (363 in men; 147 in women) occurred. In men, the crude hazard ratio (95% confidence interval) for BF% from the best predicting BIA-BF%-equation was 3.97 (3.30-4.78) against 2.13 (1.85-2.45) for BF% from the BIA device's BIA-BF%-equation, 1.34 (1.20-1.49) for BMI and 1.49 (1.40-1.73) for waist circumference per log-1-SD increase of all. In women, the hazard ratios for best predicting BIA-BF%-equation, BIA device estimation, BMI and waist circumference were 3.80 (2.85-4.99), 1.89 (1.57-2.28), 1.35 (1.21-1.51) and 1.52 (1.31-1.75), respectively. After adjustments for age, Framingham cardiovascular disease risk score and creatinine excretion - a marker of muscle mass - BF%s and BMI remained independently associated with cardiovascular events in both men and women, while waist circumference was independently associated with cardiovascular events in men, but not in women. According to discrimination ability (C-index) and additive predictive value (net reclassification index and integrated discrimination index) on obesity measures to the Framingham cardiovascular disease risk score, BF% was superior to BMI and waist circumference in both men and women. CONCLUSIONS: BF% was independently associated with future cardiovascular events. Body fat estimates from the best-predicting BIA-BF%-equations can be a more predictive measurement in cardiovascular risk assessment than BMI or waist circumference
Long-range potential fluctuations and 1/f noise in hydrogenated amorphous silicon
We present a microscopic theory of the low-frequency voltage noise (known as
"1/f" noise) in micrometer-thick films of hydrogenated amorphous silicon. This
theory traces the noise back to the long-range fluctuations of the Coulomb
potential produced by deep defects, thereby predicting the absolute noise
intensity as a function of the distribution of defect activation energies. The
predictions of this theory are in very good agreement with our own experiments
in terms of both the absolute intensity and the temperature dependence of the

Towards a Relativistic Description of Exotic Meson Decays
This work analyses hadronic decays of exotic mesons, with a focus on the
lightest one, the , in a fully relativistic formalism,
and makes comparisons with non-relativistic results. We also discuss Coulomb
gauge decays of normal mesons that proceed through their hybrid components. The
relativistic spin wave functions of mesons and hybrids are constructed based on
unitary representations of the Lorentz group. The radial wave functions are
obtained from phenomenological considerations of the mass operator. Fully
relativistic results (with Wigner rotations) differ significantly from
non-relativistic ones. We also find that the decay channels are favored, in agreement with results obtained using

Existence and Stability of Symmetric Periodic Simultaneous Binary Collision Orbits in the Planar Pairwise Symmetric Four-Body Problem
We extend our previous analytic existence of a symmetric periodic
simultaneous binary collision orbit in a regularized fully symmetric equal mass
four-body problem to the analytic existence of a symmetric periodic
simultaneous binary collision orbit in a regularized planar pairwise symmetric
equal mass four-body problem. We then use a continuation method to numerically
find symmetric periodic simultaneous binary collision orbits in a regularized
planar pairwise symmetric 1, m, 1, m four-body problem for between 0 and 1.
Numerical estimates of the the characteristic multipliers show that these
periodic orbits are linearly stability when , and are
linearly unstable when .Comment: 6 figure
Effects of Uniaxial Stress on Antiferromagnetic Moment in the Heavy Electron Compound URu_2Si_2
We have performed the elastic neutron scattering experiments under uniaxial
stress \sigma along the tetragonal [100], [110] and [001] directions for
URu2Si2. For \sigma // [100] and [110], the antiferromagnetic moment \mu_o is
strongly enhanced from 0.02 \mu_B (\sigma=0) to 0.22 \mu_B (\sigma=2.5 kbar) at
1.5 K. The rate of increase d\mu_o/d\sigma is roughly estimated to be ~ 0.1
\mu_B/kbar, which is much larger than that for the hydrostatic pressure (~
0.025 \mu_B/kbar). Above 2.5 kbar, \mu_o shows a tendency to saturate similar
to the behavior in the hydrostatic pressure. For \sigma // [001], on the other
hand, \mu_o shows only a slight increase to 0.028 \mu_B (\sigma = 4.6 kbar)
with a rate of ~ 0.002 \mu_B/kbar. The observed anisotropy suggests that the
competition between the hidden order and the antiferromagnetic state in URu2Si2
is strongly coupled with the tetragonal four-fold symmetry and the c/a ratio,
