    Get PDF
With the inclusion of nonfactorized amplitudes in a scheme with Nc=3N_c=3, we have studied Cabibbo-favored decays of D0D^0 and D+D^+ into two-body hadronic states involving two isospins in the final state. We have shown that it is possible to understand the measured branching ratios and determined the sizes and signs of nonfactorized amplitudes required.Comment: 15 pages, Late

Discovery and Identification of W' Bosons at e+e- Colliders

    Get PDF
We report on studies of the sensitivity to extra gauge bosons of the reactions e^+ e^- -> nu nubar gamma and e gamma -> nu q + X to extract discovery limits for W' 's. The discovery potential for a W' is, for some models, comparable to that of the LHC. These processes may be also useful for determining W' and Z' couplings to fermions which would complement measurements made at the Large Hadron Collider.Comment: 3 pages, 2 postscript figures, Presented at the DPF2000 Conference, August 9-12, 2000, The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohi

Audit delay is an audit solving duration which measured from the date of book year closing to the date of audit report issued. A high quality of financial statement audit could decrease investor and creditor risk in making an investment decision. The advantages of financial statement would decrease if the report isn't available on time. This research examines the factors influence audit delay. They are leverage, subsidiaries and audit complexity. This research samples take all manufacturing companies are listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange, amount 32 companies that chose based on purposive sampling method by 160 observations. They have undertaken for 5 years from 2004 – 2008.Firstly, data is examined by classical normal linear regresion model (CNLRM) which consist normality, multicollinearity and heteroscedasticity tests. Secondly, it is examined by multiple linear regression using hypothesis to know about the factors have an influencing to audit delay. The result of this research shows that simultaneously, it proves that leverage, subsidiaries and audit complexity have a significant influencing to audit delay at manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. Partially, just leverage has a significant influencing to audit delay. Whereas subsidiaries and audit complexity don't have a significant influencing to audit delay at manufacturing companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange

    Nonfactorization and Color-Suppressed Bψ(ψ(2S))+K(K)B \to \psi (\psi(2S))+K(K^*) Decays

Using Nc=3N_c=3 value of the parameter a2=0.09a_2=0.09 but including a modest nonfactorized amplitude, we show that it is possible to understand all data, including polarization, for color-suppressed Bψ(ψ(2S))+K(K)B\to\psi(\psi(2S))+K(K^*) decays in all commonly used models of form factors. We show that for Bψ+KB\to\psi +K decay one can define an effective a2 a_2, which is process-dependent and, in general, complex; but it is not possible to define an effective a2a_2 for Bψ+KB\to\psi +K^* decay. We also explain why nonfactorized amplitudes do not play a significant role in color-favored B decays.Comment: 13 pages, Latex, one figure (not included

A Doorway Detection and Direction (3Ds) System for Social Robots via a Monocular Camera

    Get PDF
In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm to detect a door and its orientation in indoor settings from the view of a social robot equipped with only a monocular camera. The challenge is to achieve this goal with only a 2D image from a monocular camera. The proposed system is designed through the integration of several modules, each of which serves a special purpose. The detection of the door is addressed by training a convolutional neural network (CNN) model on a new dataset for Social Robot Indoor Navigation (SRIN). The direction of the door (from the robot’s observation) is achieved by three other modules: Depth module, Pixel-Selection module, and Pixel2Angle module, respectively. We include simulation results and real-time experiments to demonstrate the performance of the algorithm. The outcome of this study could be beneficial in any robotic navigation system for indoor environments

    Nonfactorization and the decays Ds+ϕπ+,ϕρ+D_s^+ \to \phi \pi^+, \phi \rho^+ and ϕl+νl\phi l^+ \nu_l

In six chosen scenarios for the q2q^2 dependence of the form factors involved in Ds+ϕD_s^+ \rightarrow \phi transition, we have determined the allowed domain of x=A2(0)/A1(0)x = A_2(0) / A_1(0) and y=V(0)/A1(0)y = V(0)/A_1(0) from the experimentally measured ratios Rsl=Γ(Ds+ϕl+νl)/Γ(Ds+ϕπ+)R_{sl} = \Gamma(D_s^+ \rightarrow \phi l^+ \nu_l)/\Gamma(D_s^+ \rightarrow \phi \pi^+) and Rh=Γ(Ds+ϕρ+)/Γ(Ds+ϕπ+)R_h = \Gamma(D_s^+ \rightarrow \phi \rho^+)/\Gamma(D_s^+ \rightarrow \phi \pi^+) in a scheme that uses the Nc=3N_c =3 value of the phenomenological parameter a1a_1 and includes nonfactorized contribution. We find that the experimentally measured values of xx and yy from semileptonic decays of Ds+D_s^+ favor solutions which have significant nonfactorized contribution, and, in particular, RslR_{sl} favors solutions in scenarios where A1(q2)A_1(q^2) is either flat or decreasing with q2q^2.Comment: 15 pages, Latex, four figure (available on request)

Non-degenerate, three-wave mixing with the Josephson ring modulator

The Josephson ring modulator (JRM) is a device, based on Josephson tunnel junctions, capable of performing non-degenerate mixing in the microwave regime without losses. The generic scattering matrix of the device is calculated by solving coupled quantum Langevin equations. Its form shows that the device can achieve quantum-limited noise performance both as an amplifier and a mixer. Fundamental limitations on simultaneous optimization of performance metrics like gain, bandwidth and dynamic range (including the effect of pump depletion) are discussed. We also present three possible integrations of the JRM as the active medium in a different electromagnetic environment. The resulting circuits, named Josephson parametric converters (JPC), are discussed in detail, and experimental data on their dynamic range are found to be in good agreement with theoretical predictions. We also discuss future prospects and requisite optimization of JPC as a preamplifier for qubit readout applications.Comment: 21 pages, 16 figures, 4 table

    Signal-to-pump back-action and self-oscillation in Double-Pump Josephson Parametric Amplifier

We present the theory of a Josephson parametric amplifier employing two pump sources. Our calculations are based on Input-Output Theory, and can easily be generalized to any coupled system involving parametric interactions. We analyze the operation of the device, taking into account the feedback introduced by the reaction of the signal and noise on the pump power, and in this framework, compute the response functions of interest - signal and idler gains, internal gain of the amplifier, and self-oscillation signal amplitude. To account for this back-action between signal and pump, we adopt a mean-field approach and self-consistently explore the boundary between amplification and self-oscillation. The coincidence of bifurcation and self-oscillation thresholds reveals that the origin of coherent emission of the amplifier lies in the multi-wave mixing of the noise components. Incorporation of the back-action leads the system to exhibit hysteresis, dependent on parameters like temperature and detuning from resonance. Our analysis also shows that the resonance condition itself changes in the presence of back-action and this can be understood in terms of the change in plasma frequency of the junction. The potential of the double pump amplifier for quantum-limited measurements and as a squeezer is also discussed.Comment: 25 pages, 20 figures, three appendice

Consumer engagement with social media platforms: a study of the influence of attitudinal components on cutting edge technology adaptation behaviour

    Get PDF
Despite pervasive use of digital devices, the influence of simultaneous and combined attitudinal components on consumers’ social media adaptation behaviours remains understudied. This research aims to address this gap in the literature by examining the influence of combined attitudinal components on consumers’ continuous interaction with social media platforms. An online survey was conducted to obtain robust quantitative data on consumers’ interaction and engagement with cutting edge technology such as social media. The findings indicate that consumers’ combined cognitive (perceived opportunity, perceived social influence and perceived control) and affective (enjoyment, self-enhancement, trust and fear) attitudinal components are the antecedents to consumers’ positive and negative adaptation behaviours of social media platforms. Consumers continuously engage with cutting edge social media platforms, either in positive adaptation behaviour (exploration to maximise or exploitation to satisfice social media led benefits) or negative adaptation behaviour (explore to revert from or avoid social media platforms) influenced by combined cognitive and affective attitudinal attributes. The study enriches and advances existing literature by identifying and analysing the influence of both cognitive and affective attitudinal attributes influencing consumers’ positive and negative adaptation behaviours of cutting edge digital technology such as social media platforms. The study helps marketers and IS managers in profiling consumers and understanding consumption patterns while interacting with cutting edge social medial platforms
