Parasitic Strip Loaded Dual Band Notch Circular Monopole Antenna with Defected Ground Structure

    Get PDF
In this article a parasitic strip loaded monopole antennas are designed to notch dual and triple bands. The designed models are constructed on one side of the substrate material and on the other end defected ground structures are implemented. The basic antenna comprises a tuning stub and a ground plane with tapered shape slot as DGS. Another model is constructed with circular monopole radiating element on front side and similar kind of ground structure used in the basic rectangular tuning stub antenna. To create notched bands with tuning stubs, two symmetrical parasitic slits are placed inside the slot of the ground plane. The basic model is of the rectangular stub notching triple band and the circular tuning stub antenna notching dual band. Dual band notched circular tuning stub antenna is prototyped on FR4 substrate and measured results from vector network analyzer are compared with simulation results of HFSS for validation

Circle grid fractal plate as a turbulent generator for premixed flame: an overview

    Get PDF
This review paper focuses to ascertain a new approach in turbulence generation on the structure of premixed flames and external combustion using a fractal grid pattern. This review paper discusses the relationship between fractal pattern and turbulence flow. Many researchers have explored the fractal pattern as a new concept of turbulence generators, but researchers rarely study fractal turbulence generators on the structure premixed flame. The turbulent flow field characteristics have been studied tand investigated in a premixed combustion application. In terms of turbulence intensity, most researchers used fractal grid that can be tailored so that they can design the characteristic needed in premixed flame. This approach makes it extremely difficult to determine the exact turbulent burning velocity on the velocity fluctuation of the flow. The decision to carry out additional research on the effect circle grid fractal plate as a turbulent generator for premixed flame should depends on the blockage ratio and fractal pattern of the grid. 1

Performance evaluation on an air-cooled heat exchanger for alumina nanofluid under laminar flow

This study analyzes the characteristics of alumina (Al2O3)/water nanofluid to determine the feasibility of its application in an air-cooled heat exchanger for heat dissipation for PEMFC or electronic chip cooling. The experimental sample was Al2O3/water nanofluid produced by the direct synthesis method at three different concentrations (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 wt.%). The experiments in this study measured the thermal conductivity and viscosity of nanofluid with weight fractions and sample temperatures (20-60°C), and then used the nanofluid in an actual air-cooled heat exchanger to assess its heat exchange capacity and pressure drop under laminar flow. Experimental results show that the nanofluid has a higher heat exchange capacity than water, and a higher concentration of nanoparticles provides an even better ratio of the heat exchange. The maximum enhanced ratio of heat exchange and pressure drop for all the experimental parameters in this study was about 39% and 5.6%, respectively. In addition to nanoparticle concentration, the temperature and mass flow rates of the working fluid can affect the enhanced ratio of heat exchange and pressure drop of nanofluid. The cross-section aspect ratio of tube in the heat exchanger is another important factor to be taken into consideration

A Comparative study of prevalence of hypertension among Urban, and rural population of south Indian city, Hyderabad

Introduction:-Hypertension (HTN or HT), also known as high blood pressure (HBP), is a long-term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated. High blood pressure usually does not cause symptoms. Long-term high blood pressure, however, is a major risk factor for coronary artery disease, stroke, heart failure, atrialfibrillation, peripheral vascular disease, vision loss, chronic kidney disease, and dementia. Aims and Objectives:-To estimate the prevalence of Hypertension among the study population above 15 years age group. To compare the study results between urban and rural area population. Methodology: - The present study was a cross sectional study carried out at field practice area of Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad. It is a community based cross-sectional study , total of 1409 persons in the age group of above 15 years were interviewed at their residence and anthropometric measurements were taken. Results:-The prevalence of hypertension was more in females in both in urban and rural areas (22.6% and 26.4%),The prevalence of hypertension was more among lower class 45.4% in urban area where as prevalence is more among upper middle class 29.7% in rural area. The prevalence of hypertension was more in widow/widowers in both urban and rural areas. The prevalence of hypertension was more among Hindus 20.2% in urban area, when compared to rural area prevalence of hypertension was more among Muslims 40%. The prevalence of hypertension was more in widow/widowers in both urban and rural population 34.7% and 52.5% respectively

Comparative analysis of two different treatments by surgery: Distal femoral fractures

    No full text
Introduction: A controversial topic has been the treatment of distal femoral fractures and it was recently evolved towards indirect reduction and minimally invasive techniques. Objective: Comparing the results of the surgical treatment with the minimally invasive stabilization of distal femoral fractures with a plate with screws for appendage compression.Material and methods: Patients treated surgically between January 2016 and January 2018 with distal femoral fractures were evaluated retrospectively. From each patient record, the following variables were recorded: age, sex, fracture form and injury mechanism, type of implant used, operating time and postoperative bleeding. The Neer scale was used to comparing the anatomical, radiological, and useful outcomes of each technique. Results: the total number of patients was 59; 33 males and 26 females; 58 years was the mean age. A screw plate was used for appendage compression purposes in 36 patients and a minimally invasive stabilization system in 23 patients. The cases handled had a shorter operating time and less in traoperative bleeding with a minimally inbuilt stabilization system. The Neer scale analytical victimization results were similar for each of the modalities. Conclusions: Patients with distal third of the femur fracture managed with a minimally invasive stabilization system had higher outcomes, which were not vital on the Neer scale, mainly due to lower pain intensity, early mobilization and less functional impact

Lipofibroma of the Uterine Cervix- A Rare Benign Tumor with Brief Review of Literature

Lipomas of the uterus are rare and cervical involvement is another rare entity. Approximately 200 cases have been reported in the literature and the incidence ranges between 0.03% to 0.2%. The lesion has lately been discussed interestingly due to its diagnostic confusion with sarcomas on radiographic examination and also due to their disputed histogenesis. We report a case of 36 years old woman presenting with non-specific lower abdominal pain and vaginal discharge who underwent hysterectomy for abnormal pap smear result and an ultrasound diagnosis of a large cyst in the posterior lip of the cervix. Histopathology revealed intramural lipofibroma of the cervix

Parasellar Chondroid Chordoma: a Case Report

Chordomas are distinct tumors which arise almost exclusively in the midline skeleton, from skull base to the sacrum. Chondroid chordoma is a rare form of chordoma with features of chordoma and chondrosarcoma arising almost at skull base. We report a case of a right parasellar chondroid chordoma in 54 years old female. Histopathology and IHC confirm the diagnosis of this case
