Al-Quran ontology based on knowledge themes

Islamic knowledge is gathered through the understanding the Al-Quran.It requires ontology which can capture the knowledge and present it in a machine readable structured However, current ontology approaches is irrelevant and inaccuracy in producing true concepts of Al-Quran knowledge, because it used traditional methods that only define the concepts of knowledge without connecting to a related theme of knowledge.The themes of knowledge are important to provide true meaning and explanation of Al-Quran knowledge classification.The main aims of this paper are to demonstrate the development of ontology Al-Quran and method used for searching the Al-Quran knowledge using the semantic search approach. Expert review has been applied to validate the ontology model and evaluate the relevance and precision of searching results

Effect of natural rubber/epoxidized natural rubber (90/10) on mechanical and thermal properties of linear low density polyethylene.

The effects of blending different amounts of (90/10) natural rubber/epoxidized natural rubber (NR/ENR-50) with metallocene linear low density polyethylene (mLLDPE) on the tensile strength, elongation at yield point, Young’s modulus, hardness and thermal properties were investigated. In this study, N, N-m-phenylenebismaleimide (HVA-2) was used as compatibilizer for the blends. The highest tensile strength was observed in the blend of 90/(9/1) mLLDPE/NR/ENR-50. With increasing mixed rubber content, the tensile modulus is found to decrease continuously, but interestingly the hardness and elongation at yield point is shown to increase. The crystallinity percentage of 10% rubber/mLLDPE was the lowest percentage. The maximum physical crosslinks occur in 90/(9/1) mLLDPE/NR/ENR-50 composite blend. The FTIR showed that the epoxy and double bond groups were found to be absent in all blends indicating thermal stability and compatibility of mLLDPE/rubber blends were improved by addition of 10 and 30% loading of rubber, in the presence of HVA-2 as compatibilizer

Distribution of tetrodotoxin among tissues of pufferfish from Sabah and Sarawak waters

Puffer fish, mainly from Tetraodontidae family known to possess a neurotoxin or tetrodotoxin (TTX) which can cause a puffer fish poisoning and adverse effect to human health. In current study, the tetrodotoxin (TTX) concentration in different tissues (liver, skin, muscle) of 14 species of puffer fish from Sabah and Sarawak waters were analysed and determined by application of liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry/mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). Overall, extracted toxin for all specimens were shown to be toxic with result more than 0.2 μg/g as calculated based on TTX standard curve. Among the tissues, liver were found to be highest in TTX concentration (91.0 μg/g), followed by muscle (51.1 μg/g) and skin (6.87 μg/g). Moreover, TTX concentrations among puffer fish species were significantly differences (p<0.05) with Arothron immaculatus (275 μg/g) showed highest mean value, while the lowest value was detected in Lagocephalus lunaris (4.92 μg/g). From this finding, LC-MS/MS application could be a potential tools to determine the TTX and advisedly used as a procedure in screening of seafood for monitoring program. Furthermore, baseline data of TTX levels in selected puffer fish from the study could be important information and used as guideline in order to mitigate puffer fish poisoning cases especially in East Malaysia waters

Pelatihan Teknologi Keuangan Menggunakan Aplikasi Buku Warung Pada Usaha Metal Jig Lure Denpasar

Metal jig lure adalah salah satu jenis umpan buatan berbahan dasar logam timah yang digunakan oleh pemancing untuk menangkap ikan. Karena banyaknya permintaan akan umpan jenis ini, membuat pengrajin usaha metal jig lure pada skala industri rumahan (home industry) semakin menjamur. Salah satu UMKM pengrajin metal jig lure yang ada di Bali adalah Bapak Rahmat Wahyudi yang juga merupakan mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini. Salah satu permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh mitra adalah pada proses pencatatan transaksi keuangan yang sebelumnya masih dilakukan dengan cara konvensional, yaitu berupa catatan pada buku dan terkadang ditulis pada aplikasi Notes yang ada pada smartphone. Salah satu dampak dari hal tersebut adalah mitra tidak dapat mengetahui dengan pasti berapa jumlah laba rugi yang diperoleh setiap bulannya. Untuk itu pada kegiatan ini dilakukan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi BukuWarung sebagai media untuk mengelola pemasukan, pengeluaran, utang piutang, serta perhitungan omzet melalui smartphone. Metode atau tahapan yang dilakukan pada kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi, pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan, dan terakhir adalah kegiatan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa mitra sudah mampu menggunakan aplikasi BukuWarung guna mendata transaksi keuangan usahanya. Setelah menggunakan aplikasi BukuWarung, mitra sudah dapat mengetahui jumlah pemasukkan dan pengeluaran dari usahanya dengan lebih jelas dan informatif

PERFORMANCE BASED PAY AS A DETERMINANT OF JOB SATISFACTION: A STUDY IN MALAYSIA GIATMARA CENTERS

Compensation management literature highlights that performance based pay has two major characteristics: participation in pay systems and adequacy of pay. The ability of management to properly implement such pay systems may lead to increased job satisfaction in organizations. Though, the nature of this relationship is interesting, little is known about the influence of performance based pay on job satisfaction in compensation management literature. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine the relationship between pay for performance and job satisfaction in Malaysian GIATMARA centers. The results of exploratory factor analysis confirmed that measurement scales used in this study satisfactorily met the standards of validity and reliability analyses. An outcome of stepwise regression analysis shows that determinant of job satisfaction is performance based pay. Further, this result confirms that pay for performance is an important antecedent for job satisfaction in the studied organizations.Pay for Performance, Job Satisfaction, Malaysian GIATMARA centers.
