    Get PDF
Supply chain management represents a set of interdependent organisations that work closely together to manage the flow of goods or services and information along the value-added chain of products, in order to realise end customer value at the lowest possible costs. Halal Supply Chain performance measures can be developed based on existing measures of the conventional supply chain as long as the primary objective is preserving halal integrity rather than minimising cost or maximising profit. The objective of this paper is to see the effect of halal traceability system towards halal supply chain performance using SEM techniques. Halal Traceability system is a system that enables the identification of products’ and product ingredients’ halal status backward and forward, along the production chain. This article focus will be on the survey method only. The instrument development was based on a literature survey. This study focuses on the population of halal certified food and beverages (F&B) manufacturers as disclose in JAKIM Halal Portal. About 254 questionnaire sets answered by the intended respondents out of 500 being distributed and no data are detected as missing. All questions are completely answered by the respondents. This study has confirmed the effect of Halal Traceability system on Halal Supply Chain performance. Having demonstrated the significance of the hypothesised effect with a substantial total variance explained (i.e. above 75 percent) and sufficient predictive relevance, this study provides strong empirical evidence that a high level of Halal Supply Chain performance can be achieved through the effective implementation of Halal Traceability system

The effects of perceived work overload on organizational commitment on employee turnover intention in automotive industry in Pahang

    Get PDF
Employee turnover is a critical concern for organizations, as it can adversely affect service quality and incur substantial expenses. Drawing on the theoretical framework of social exchange theory, this study presents a model to examine the interconnections between turnover intentions, organizational commitment, and perceived task overload among employees in the automotive sector of Malaysia. Data was collected from 158 automotive industry professionals who voluntarily participated in the study. The proposed hypotheses were validated using structural equation modeling (SEM) via SmartPLS 4.0. The findings provide empirical support for the hypothesis that employees' perceptions of task overload directly influence their level of commitment to their respective organizations. Moreover, their perceived work overload, combined with organizational commitment and incentives, significantly impacts their turnover intentions, influencing their decision to leave their current positions. Surprisingly, organizational commitment was found to have no significant direct effect on turnover intention. This novel research offers a comprehensive model to manage turnover intention among automotive industry employees in Malaysia, utilizing organizational commitment as a mediating factor. The level of dedication demonstrated by employees towards their organizations plays a vital role in determining whether they will remain with the organization, even when they perceive their skills to be declining. These findings hold implications for both research and clinical practice, offering valuable insights for improving workforce readiness amidst the challenges posed by the industrial revolution 4.0

Developing The Model of Integrated Social Safety Net Programmes Towards Better Financial Well-Being

    Get PDF
Social safety net initiative is essentially a set of policies and programmes designed to ensure basic standards of living in a nation are met and protecting people from economic shocks. Despite various social safety net programmes have been delivered by the government to serve these objectives, studies that propose alliance between provision of public assistance, corporate social responsibility programmes and beneficiaries’ self-coping mechanism are very scarce. Therefore, this study aimed to conceptualise a model that integrate the role of public assistance, corporate social responsibility and self-coping mechanism towards better financial well-being of low-income earners in Malaysia. This model attempted to explain the relationship between social safety net programmes delivered by the government and private companies on beneficiaries’ financial well-being. Besides social safety net programmes, financial behaviours of the beneficiaries were also hypothesised as the intervening variable between social safety net programmes and financial well-being. The model produced in the present study deemed to offer a good direction for socio-economic scholars and policy makers in improving Malaysians’ financial well-being through better governance and delivery of social safety net programmes in the future

The Success Factor of Spirituality Towards Customer Satisfaction

    Get PDF
Spirituality is a fundamental aspect of our inner identity that shapes our behaviour in society and cognitive processes. While previous research has primarily examined spirituality from a religious perspective, marketing scholars are now exploring how individuals interact with spiritual products, services, and locations to enhance their spiritual well-being and create meaningful experiences. This has led to a ground-breaking study in the Malaysian mobile service provider industry, where researchers sought to understand how spirituality influences customer satisfaction. The social exchange theory has proven that the exchange of benefits has determined its ability to satisfy individual needs and desires through this study. Using a purposive sampling method, 187 responses were gathered and analysed using the PLS-SEM technique. The results were astounding, revealing that all factors significantly impacted customer satisfaction. Specifically, spirituality mediated the relationship between brand prestige, alternative attractiveness, and customer satisfaction. This discovery has opened new doors for companies to connect with their customers on a deeper level and for researchers to explore the intriguing intersection between brand prestige, alternative attractiveness, and spirituality. On top of that, this study has achieved two critical criteria by looking at spirituality from the perspective of subscribers’ behaviour in society and cognitive processes, eliminating the influence of materialism. The findings anticipate that when mobile service providers offer their best services to their customers, it will bring about significant changes in the industry, leading to a higher quality of life during the endemic. This is especially relevant given the high reliance on digitalisation among customers today. In summary, this study highlights the importance of spirituality in shaping customer behaviour and satisfaction, offering exciting opportunities for companies and researchers alike

Most industries are experiencing the Industrial Revolution 4.0 (IR4.0), which requires graduates to learn new skills to be future-proof. Hence, skill preparation for graduates will be crucial. The Malaysia Education Plan 2015-2025 (Higher Education) stated that there is a mismatch in the supply-demand of graduates, with companies claiming that graduates lack the necessary skills and the educational institution not having clear signals of industry's requirement. Previous study indicates the inadequacy in the literature that discussed on the specific IR4.0 skills set needed for business graduates in Malaysia. So, this study aims to (1) explore IR4.0 skills set based on supplies-demand perspective and (2) develop an IR4.0 skills set model for business graduates. Qualitative study will be conducted via Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with service sector and higher education participants. Using NVivo, the model will be developed based on thematic analysis. This study is expected to enhance graduate’s employability. Practically, the study assists the educational institution in building and equip the graduate with the right skills for these IR4.0 era. Furthermore, this study is expected to reduce the skills mismatch

This study is focused on finite element analysis of a model comprising femur into which a femoral component of a total hip replacement was implanted. The considered prosthesis is fabricated from a functionally graded material (FGM) comprising a layer of a titanium alloy bonded to a layer of hydroxyapatite. The elastic modulus of the FGM was adjusted in the radial, longitudinal, and longitudinal-radial directions by altering the volume fraction gradient exponent. Four cases were studied, involving two different methods of anchoring the prosthesis to the spongy bone and two cases of applied loading. The results revealed that the FG prostheses provoked more SED to the bone. The FG prostheses carried less stress, while more stress was induced to the bone and cement. Meanwhile, less shear interface stress was stimulated to the prosthesis-bone interface in the noncemented FG prostheses. The cement-bone interface carried more stress compared to the prosthesis-cement interface. Stair climbing induced more harmful effects to the implanted femur components compared to the normal walking by causing more stress. Therefore, stress shielding, developed stresses, and interface stresses in the THR components could be adjusted through the controlling stiffness of the FG prosthesis by managing volume fraction gradient exponent
