An annotated list of harvestmen species (six species in two families) of the Katunsky Biosphere Reserve and adjacent territories in the Altai Republic, Russia is provided. A new species, Sabacon zateevi sp. nov. (♂ ♀ from the Altai Mountains, Russia), is described. Liropilio stukanovi Gritsenko, 1979 is recorded from Russia for the first time, and appearance and diagnostic features of its male are described. The appearance of a living specimen of the female of Homolophus nordenskioeldi (C.L. Koch, 1879) is also provided. For all the studied species, biotope preferences and distribution are discussed. Additional information on morphology and distribution of Sabacon sergeidedicatum Martens, 1989 is given

The jumping spider tribe Ballini is reviewed in the Afrotropical Region. The genera Afromarengo Benjamin, 2004 and Goleta Peckham & Peckham, 1894 are redefined. In Afromarengo, A. coriacea (Simon, 1900) is illustrated and A. ghanaensis sp. nov. (female, from Ghana) andA. ugandensis sp. nov. (male female, from Uganda and D.R. Congo) are newly described. For Goleta, the type species, Goleta workmani (Peckham & Peckham, 1885), is redescribed from both sexes. Seven new genera and twelve new species are described, including three monotypic genera, Ballagascar gen. nov., with B. insularis (Peckham & Peckham, 1885) comb. nov. (ex Colaxes Simon, 1900) from Madagascar (male female) as the type species; Mondeku gen. nov., withM. albopilosum sp. nov. (male female, from Kenya) as the type species; and Oviballus gen. nov., with O. vidae sp. nov. (male female, from South Africa) as the type species. We also describe Planamarengo gen. nov., with P. bimaculata (Peckham & Peckham, 1903) comb. nov. (exAfromarengo) from South Africa (male female) as the type species, as well as P. gatamaiyu sp. nov. (male, from Kenya) and P kenyaensis sp. nov. (male female, from Kenya); Propiomarengo gen. nov., with P plana (Haddad & Wesolowska, 2013) comb. nov. (ex Afromarengo) from South Africa (female) as the type species, as well as P. foordi sp. nov. (male, from South Africa); Tenuiballus gen. nov., with T minor sp. nov. (male, from South Africa) as the type species, and also including T coronatus sp. nov. (male, from South Africa); and Wandawe gen. nov., with W. benjamini (Wesolowska & Haddad, 2013) comb. n. (ex Colaxes) from South Africa (male female) as the type species, and also including W. australe sp. nov. (male female, from South Africa) and W. tigrina sp. nov. (male female, from Kenya and Uganda). A new combination for Copocrossa albozonata Caporiacco, 1949, Afromarengo albozonata comb. nov. is provided, and the name A. albozonata is treated as a nomen dubium. A new species of Padilla Peckham & Peckham, 1894, a genus only known from the Afrotropical Indian Ocean islands, P. wandae sp. nov. (male female, from Madagascar), is described. New data and illustrations for Sadies Wanless, 1984, as well as two Asian species of Colaxes, are provided. The recently revised Pachyballus Simon, 1900 and Peplometus Simon, 1900 are not treated further. A key to the genera of Afrotropical Ballinae is presented, as well as new data on their natural history, biogeography, and a discussion of the evolution of mimicry of various arthropod groups by balline jumping spiders. A putative synapomorphy and the new composition of Ballini sensu novo are proposed

The Afrotropical species of the jumping spider genus Festucula Simon, 1901 are revised. The genus now contains eight species. Three new species, F. haddadi sp. n. (♂♀ from South Africa), F. leroyae sp. n. (♂♀ from South Africa and Namibia) and F. robustus sp. n. (♂♀ from South Africa) are described. F. australis Lawrence, 1927 is removed from its synonymy with F. festuculaeformis (Lessert, 1925). F. lineata Simon, 1901, previously treated as nomen dubium, is revalidated and redescribed. Three further species, F. australis Lessert, 1933, F. festuculaeformis Lessert, 1933 and F. lawrencei Lessert, 1933, are redescribed

The male palp of the holotype of Eresus tristis Kroneberg, 1875, a species considered a junior synonym of E. kollari Rossi, 1846, is illustrated. A comparison with the palp of E. kollari reveals clear differences, and therefore E. tristis is revalidated. The previously unknown type locality is recognized as southernmost Kazakhstan. All literature records of E. tristis are surveyed, and it seems that records from Eastern Kazakhstan and Xinjiang (China) refer to an undescribed species
