MIVIS image geocoding experience on merging position attitude system data and public domain GPS stream (ASI-GeoDAF)

The use of airborne scanners involves geo-referencing problems, which are difficult because of the need to know the exact platform position and attitude for each scan line. The errors of the onboard navigation system are normally corrected using ground control point on the image. This post-processing correction procedure is too long in case of multiple flight campaigns, and besides it implies the need to have available 1:10000 orthophotoimages or maps in digital format. To optimize the above procedure a new method to correct MIVIS navigational data in the post-processing phase has been implemented. The procedure takes into consideration the GPS stream in Rinex format of common knowledge and findable on the web, acquired at the ground stations of the Geodetic Data Archiving Facilities provided by ASI. The application of this correction entails the assumption that the environmental variables affecting both onboard and geodetic GPS equally affect the position measurements. The airborne data correction was carried out merging the two data sets (onboard and ground station GPS) to achieve a more precise aircraft trajectory. The present study compares the geo-coded images obtained by means of the two post-processing methods

Il servizio WCTS del Geoportale Nazionale

The 2007/2/CE INSPIRE directive requires every Member State to implement a set of services to facilitate the interchange of spatial data; the Coordinate Transformation Service (CTS) is one of the geometric transformation services required by the directive. The Italian National Geoportal (GN) has recently published a new set of public access services that enable the users to transform and convert the coordinate reference system of geographic data within the Italian territory using the high-accuracy correction data provided by the Istituto Geografico Militare Italiano (IGM). This article will illustrate these newly published services: a browser-based web application to transform raster and vector files or sets of coordinates and an OGC-compliant Web Coordinate Transformation Service (WCTS) that performs on the fly transformation of GML (Geography Markup Language) data

Gamma-hydroxybutyrate (GHB) for prevention and treatment of alcohol withdrawal

This is the protocol for a review and there is no abstract. The objectives are as follows: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of GHB in prevention and treatment of the AWS, more specifically • to compare the efficacy of GHB with placebo or other drugs; • to identify the most effective GHB dosage and schedules; • to estimate the incidence of side effects; • to carry out a risk-benefit analysis

Mycobacterium leprae in Armadillo Tissues from Museum Collections, United States

    Get PDF
We examined armadillos from museum collections in the United States using molecular assays to detect leprosy-causing bacilli. We found Mycobacterium leprae bacilli in samples from the United States, Bolivia, and Paraguay; prevalence was 14.8% in nine-banded armadillos. US isolates belonged to subtype 3I-2, suggesting long-term circulation of this genotype

Pushing Time-Domain Diffuse Optics to Its Ultimate Limits: New Large-Area Detector and Operation Modality

Large area single-photon detectors enhance light harvesting capability beyond state-ofthe-art provided that pile-up distortion is corrected. We test a 10 × 10 mm2 SiPM-based detector and study the possibility to work beyond singe-photon statistics
