    Coronary heart disease is the most common cause of death globally. Deaths in patients with coronary heart disease are 7.8 million out of 11.11 million people in developing countries in 2020. One of the factors that can worsen heart disease is drug interactions caused by patients with heart disease not only having one disease but followed by other diseases. so that they use more than one kind of drug. The purpose of this study was to describe the treatment profile of CHD patients and drug interactions in coronary heart inpatients at Imelda General Hospital, Indonesian Workers. This research is an observational study designed with retrospective descriptive design. Data analysis was carried out by screening drug interactions using the Drug Interaction Checker. The results showed that the criteria for CHD patients mostly occurred in women (56.3%) at the age of 56-60 years (23.9%). The distribution of diagnoses in CHD patients had the most three diagnoses of disease and with the most comorbidities, namely dyspepsia (20.6%) and diabetes mellitus (19.0%). The most widely used coronary heart therapy in inpatients at Imelda Workers' Hospital in Indonesia was SDN (12.7%) while the combination therapy was Clopidogrel and Concor (4.2%).     Chronic kidney failure (CKD) is a clinical symptom caused by chronic, progressive, and irreversible kidney function disorders. The World Health Organization (2017) reports that globally, CKD occurs in more than 500 million people. According to Riskesdas (2018) the prevalence of CKD based on a doctor's diagnosis in the population aged 15 years in Indonesia is 0.38% while in North Sumatra it is 0.33%. This method replaces the work normally carried out by the kidneys, namely cleansing the blood of metabolic wastes, toxic substances, and removing accumulated water in the body. This study aims to see the pattern of use of antihypertensives in patients with chronic kidney failure in hemodialysis Imelda Indonesian Workers General Hospital Medan period 2020. This study is a descriptive observation study in which data were taken retrospectively and analyzed by descriptive statistical methods. The pattern of use of antihypertensives in CKD patients in the hemodialysis unit of Imelda RSU Indonesian Workers is mostly amlodipine 13.0%, and the most widely used combination therapy is amlodipine with valsartan 14.4%

    Cayenne pepper leaves (Capsicum frutescens L.) can traditionally be used as an alternative treatment for acne from natural ingredients. This study aims to determine the effectiveness and concentration of the transparent solid soap formulation ethanol extract of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frustescens L.) leaves in inhibiting the growth of acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acne). The method used in this research is experimental. Making cayenne pepper leaf extract (Capsicum Frutescens L.) by maceration method using 96% ethanol then making a transparent solid soap formulation and testing the effectiveness of antibacterial using disc paper diffusion method against Propionibacterium acnes bacteria by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone for bacterial growth so that it can known Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC). The concentration of Cayenne pepper leaf extract and the transparent solid soap formula used were (FI) 1%; (FII) 2%; (FIII) 3% and blanks (K+) Ranee soap and (K-) extractless soap. Evaluation of the physical quality of transparent solid soap preparations includes: organoleptic test, pH test, foam power test. From the test results, the average transparent solid soap preparation with a concentration of 1% produced an inhibition zone of 10.7 mm, a concentration of 2% produced an inhibition zone of 11.8 mm, and a concentration of 3% produced an inhibition zone of 12.6 mm. Minimum Inhibitory concentration (MIC) which produced the best ethanol extract of cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) leaves was found at a concentration of 1% with a Width of Inhibitory Power (LDH) of 10.7 mm. The One Way Anova test obtained a significance value of 0.000 <0.05, so the results were significant, so there were significant differences between treatments. This means that the use of cayenne pepper leaf extract (Capsicum frutescens L.) has an effect on the growth of Propionibacterium acnes bacteria

    Good quality service is an important part that must be provided by health service providers, including hospitals. In providing health services, hospitals are required to provide a sense of security and quality that prioritizes the best interests of patients. Patients who are satisfied with the services provided will have a good perception. Conversely, patients who feel dissatisfied will have a bad perception. The purpose of this study was to determine and measure the quality of pharmaceutical services at the Pharmacy Installation of Karya Bakti General Hospital, Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat, so that a study on the level of outpatient satisfaction with pharmaceutical services at IFRSU was carried out. Karya Bakti Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat. The research was conducted by giving respondents, in this case the patient and the patient's family, a questionnaire to fill out. The questionnaire given contains 23 questions regarding the level of respondent satisfaction with pharmaceutical services at the Pharmacy Installation of Karya Bakti Hospital, Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat. The results of the 5 dimensions of the level of satisfaction include: reliability, reliability, reliability, 83.2%, responsiveness, 85.3%, empathy (empathy) 86.6%, tangibles (direct evidence) 67.28%. , the assurance dimension (guarantee) 84.7%. The results of research on the level of patient satisfaction with pharmaceutical services at the Pharmacy Installation of the Karya Bakti Hospital in Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat can be concluded that the average level of satisfaction of patients and their families with pharmaceutical services at the Pharmacy Installation of RSU Karya Bakti Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat is 81.41%. This means that patients and their families are very satisfied with pharmaceutical services at the Pharmacy Installation of Karya Bakti Hospital, Ujung Bandar Rantauprapat

    Petai cina (Leucaena leucocephala (Lam) de Wit) termasuk suku Leguminosae. Petai cina cocok hidup di dataran rendah sampai ketinggian 1500 meter diatas permukaan laut. Biji petai cina dikonsumsi sebagai lalapan yang memiliki banyak khasiat salah satunya sebagai antioksidan penangkal radikal bebas sehingga dapat mencegah berbagai macam penyakit. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untukmenguji aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol, fraksi n-heksan, dan fraksi etil asetat dari biji petai cina. Ekstrak etanol dan hasil fraksinasi diuji aktivitas antioksidannya dengan menggunakan metode 1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) dilakukan dengan mengukur absorbansi DPPH pada ekstrak etanol,fraksin-heksan dan etil asetat. Kemampuan antioksidan diukur dari penurunan absorbansi yang semakin besar menunjukan aktivitas antioksidan yang semakin besar pula. Fraksi n-heksan memiliki penurunan yang paling besar, kemudian ekstrak etanol dan fraksi etil asetat.Penurunan nilai absorbansi menunjukan telah terjadi penangkapan / peredaman radikal bebas DPPH oleh larutan uji sehingga menunjukan adanya aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol,fraksin-heksan dan etil asetat

    The stevia plant is known to have various benefits in the pharmaceutical field and is used as a health medicine because of its antioxidant, antifungal and non-carcinogenic effects. Green tea is a plant that contains various antioxidant compounds that are beneficial for health. The aim of this research is to determine whether the combination of stevia leaf extract and green tea leaves is effective as an antioxidant. Ethanol extract of stevia leaves and green tea leaves is made by maceration with 96% ethanol solvent, combination extract has blackish green. The ethanol extract of stevia leaves and green tea leaves was screened for phytochemical compounds. Antioxidant effectiveness was tested using the DPPH (1,1 Diphenyl-2-Picrylhydrazyl) method, with varying concentrations of 10 ppm, 20 ppm, 30 ppm, 40 ppm and 50 ppm. Then Antioxidant activity test by DPPH measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer. The results of screening for phytochemical compounds show that stevia leaf extract contains alkaloids, saponins, flavonoids and tannins. Meanwhile, the results of screening for phytochemical compounds in green tea leaf extract contain alkaloids, steroids, saponins, flavonoids and tannins. The research results showed that antioxidant levels in the combination of Stevia leaf extract and green tea leaves with concentrations of 10 ppm, 20 ppm, 30 ppm, 40 ppm, 50 ppm with a ratio of (1:1) had an IC50 analysis result of 10 ppm of 19.90 mg/L, 20 ppm is 12.90 mg/L, 30 ppm is 9.60 mg/L. 40 ppm is 6.80 mg/L. 50 ppm is 6.60 mg/L where a concentration of 50 ppm is classified as a very strong antioxidant. The antioxidant effect of the combination of stevia leaf extract and green tea leaves is still higher than vitamin C.     The Inhibitory Activity of Picria fel-terrae Lour Herbs Extract on Nitric Oxide Production toward RAW 264.7 Cells Induced by Lipopolysaccharide

    AIM: The objective of this study was to evaluate the inhibitory activity of Picria fel-terrae Lour on Nitric Oxide production toward RAW 264.7 cells. METHODS: The extraction was obtained by maceration method using n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol solvents and then nitric oxide (NO) production was obtained using Griess reagent. RESULTS: Extract of Picria fel-terrae Lour herbs can reduce the NO production toward RAW 264.7 cells with induced by lipopolysaccharide has obtained nitric concentrations 12.5 and 25 μg/mL from n-hexane extract (72.50 ± 4.51 and 10.42 ± 1.82), ethyl acetate extract: (88.33 ± 6.51 and 30.83 ± 6.86), ethanol extract: (75.00 ± 1.91 and 22.08 ± 2.53). CONCLUSION: n-hexane extract of Picria fel-terrae Lour Herbs has a high potential to reduce the NO production in LPS-stimulated RAW 264.7 cells compared to ethyl acetate and ethanol extracts of Picria fel-terrae Lour Herbs

    The Immunomodulatory Activities of Picria Fel-Terrae Lour Herbs towards RAW 264.7 Cells

    AIM: To investigate immunomodulatory activities of Picria fel-terrae Lour herbs extract against inflammatory biomarkers by conducting cell culture experiments. MATERIAL AND METHODS: The herbs of Picria fel-terrae Lour were dried and extracted with n-hexane, ethyl acetate, 96% ethanol, followed by evaporation and freeze-drying. Phytochemicals screening were analysed with thin layer chromatography method. Cell viability was assessed with MTT assay. The genes of Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF)-α, Interleukin (IL)-6, interleukin (IL)-1β and inducible Nitric Oxide Synthase (iNOS), Cyclooxygenase (COX-2) in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced macrophages were analysed by Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) method. RESULTS: Phytochemicals screening showed the presence of steroids in n-hexane extract (ENPFH) and flavonoids, glycosides, saponins, tannins in ethyl acetate (EEAPFH) and ethanol (EEPFH) extracts. The Viability of RAW 264.7 cell toward ENPFH, EEAPFH, and EEPFH (1-200 μgmL-1) showed no toxicity effects. At the gene level, ENPFH; EEAPFH; EEPFH decreased the gene expression of TNF-α, IL-6, IL-1β, iNOS, and COX-2 which induced with LPS (1 μgmL-1). CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that extracts of Picria fel-terrae Lour Herbs possesses immunomodulatory activities by inhibiting selected inflammatory biomarkers at the gene levels in LPS-induced macrophages
