Spin- portal induced Dark Matter
Standard model (SM) spin-zero singlets are constrained through their
di-Bosonic decay channels via an effective coupling induced by a vector-like
quark (VLQ) loop at the LHC for = 13 TeV. These spin-zero resonances
are then considered as portals for scalar, vector or fermionic dark matter
particle interactions with SM gauge bosons. We find that the model is validated
with respect to the observations from LHC data and from cosmology, indirect and
direct detection experiments for an appreciable range of scalar, vector and
fermionic DM masses greater than 300 GeV and VLQ masses 400 GeV,
corresponding to the three choice of portal masses 270 GeV, 500 GeV and 750 GeV

Capacitance-to-Digital Converter for Ultra-Low-Power Wireless Sensor Nodes
Power consumption is one of the main design constraints in today’s integrated circuits. For systems like wearable electronics, UAVs, IOT systems powered by batteries which are charged using the energy harvested from various sources like RF, Thermal, Solar and Vibration, ultra-low power consumption is paramount. In these systems, Transducers which convert physical parameters into electrical parameters and the analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are key components as the interface between the analog world and the digital domain. This thesis addresses the design challenges, strategies, as well as circuit techniques of ultra-low-power signal Front End used in several low power electronic systems in general and pressure measurement systems in particular.
In this thesis, Capacitance to Digital Converter based pressure measurement system has been implemented. Here we present a general-purpose, wide-range CDC that combines a correlated double sampling (CDS) approach with a differential asynchronous SAR ADC. Since the sensor capacitor is sampled only twice per conversion, energy per conversion is low. Furthermore, since the CDS separates the sensor capacitor from the CDAC, a full differential input voltage range is preserved. The CDC has a 2.5-to-75.5pF conversion range. Monotonic SAR ADC was designed in 180nm CMOS with 1-V power supply and a 1-kS/s sampling rate with switching energy of about 100nW

APOPTOSIS-INDUCING POTENTIAL OF LAWSONIA ALBA LAM. LEAVES ON HEPATOCELLULAR CARCINOMA (HEP-G2) CELLS ALONG WITH ITS ANTI-OXIDANT PROPERTY
Objective: The current study investigated the anti-cancer potential of methanolic and ethyl acetate fraction of Lawsonia alba L. (Lythraceae) leaves extract on Hep-G2 and RAW 264.7 cells along with in vitro anti-oxidant property of the ethyl acetate fraction.Methods: The cytotoxic activity of methanolic extract and its fractions had been studied by MTT assay on Hep-G2 and RAW 264.7 cells. Morphological study of Hep-G2 cells was performed by light, fluorescence and confocal microscope. 1% agarose gel electrophoresis, detection of apoptosis and cell cycle arrest by flow cytometric analysis had been performed to determine the proportion and stages of cellular apoptosis of Hep-G2 cells. In vitro anti-oxidant study of various fractions of MLA were performed by DPPH and Hydroxyl radical scavenging assay.Results: Cytotoxicity study of MLA and ELA had been confirmed by MTT assay and the IC50 value were calculated to be 75.85μg/ml and 32.81μg/ml on Hep-G2 cell line respectively. Morphological study showed the arrays of nuclear changes including chromatin condensation and apoptotic body formation indicating that treatment with ELA, causes apoptotic changes in the hepatoma cells compared to the untreated control. Agarose gel electrophoresis study showed fragmented DNA in the form of a ladder. Flow cytometric analysis showed an appreciable number of cells in early apoptosis stage. The cells were arrested, mostly in G0/G1 phase of the cell cycle. Antioxidant property of ELA fraction was confirmed by free radical scavenging activity.Conclusion: Ethyl acetate fraction of Lawsonia alba L. leaves possess potent apoptotic activity against Hep-G2 cell line along with notable anti-oxidant activity
Novel optically active lead-free relaxor ferroelectric (Ba0.6Bi0.2Li0.2)TiO3
We discovered a near room temperature lead-free relaxor-ferroelectric
(Ba0.6Bi0.2Li0.2)TiO3 (BBLT) having A-site compositional disordered ABO3
perovskite structure. Microstructure-property relations revealed that the
chemical inhomogeneities and development of local polar nano regions (PNRs) are
responsible for dielectric dispersion as a function of probe frequencies and
temperatures. Rietveld analysis indicates mixed crystal structure with 80%
tetragonal structure (space group P4mm) and 20% orthorhombic structure (space
group Amm2) which is confirmed by the high resolution transmission electron
diffraction pattern. Dielectric constant and tangent loss dispersion with and
without illumination of light obey nonlinear Vogel-Fulture relation. It shows
slim polarization-hysteresis (P-E) loops and excellent displacement
coefficients (d33 ~ 233 pm/V) near room temperature, which gradually diminish
near the maximum dielectric dispersion temperature (Tm). The underlying physics
for light-sensitive dielectric dispersion was probed by X-ray photon
spectroscopy (XPS) which strongly suggests that mixed valence of bismuth ions,
especially Bi5+ ions, are responsible for most of the optically active centers.
Ultraviolet photoemission measurements showed most of the Ti ions are in 4+
states and sit at the centers of the TiO6 octahedra, which along with
asymmetric hybridization between O 2p and Bi 6s orbitals appears to be the main
driving force for net polarization. This BBLT material may open a new path for
environmental friendly lead-free relaxor-ferroelectric research.Comment: 23 pages, 5 figure
Chronic Subdural Hematoma development in Accelerated phase of Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia presenting with seizure and rapid progression course with fatal outcome
Occurrence of chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) in leukemia is rare, and most reported cases occurred in relation with acute myeloid leukaemia; however, occurrence is extremely rare in accelerated phase of chronic myelogenous leukaemia (CML). Seizure as presentation of SDH development in CML cases is not reported in literature. Authors report an elderly male, who was diagnosed as CML, accelerated phase of developing SDH. Initially presented to local physician with seizure; urgent CT scan head was advised, but ignored and sensorium rapidly worsened over next day and reported to our emergency department in deeply comatose state, where imaging revealed chronic subdural hematoma with hypoxic brain injury with fatal outcome. Seizure, progressive worsening of headache, vomiting and papilloedema are harbinger of intracranial space occupying lesion and requires CT head in emergency medical department for exclusion, who are receiving treatment of haematological malignancy
Trichoderma asperellum, a potential fungal biocontrol agent against Aspergillus niger
Trichoderma asperellum is free-living, ubiquitous fungus which is very common in the habitat of soil and root ecosystem, is known as a potent opportunistic, avirulent plant symbionts and it parasitizes several soilborne phytopathogens. Aspergillus niger is well known black mold which causes several storage diseases. Among the storage diseases, black mould disease of onion is an important disease which is caused by A. niger. Antagonsitic potential of T. asperellum was assayed against three isolates of A. niger [RC1, RC2 (isolated from soil samples of Farm 1 and 2) and RC3 isolated from diseases onion]. Antagonistic efficacy of T. asperellum of A. niger almost similar against all the test isolates. Percentage inhibition of radial growth (PIRG) of A. niger by T. asperellum inhibited 55.17% within five days, 77.20% within 7 days and 92.06% in 12 days. Antagonistic efficacy of T. asperellum can be exploited in the management of black mould disease of onion
Control of Ralstonia solanacearum Infection in Tomato, Brinjal and Capsicum by antibiotic sensitivity test
Ralstonia solanacearum is one of the important dreaded soil’s borne bacterial phytopathogen which causes enormous losses in the crop plants in tropical, subtropical and temperate region of the world. In India, the disease is highly prevalent and active throughout the year where the soil is acidic in the Eastern Plateau and Hill Region. Once the disease is established in the field, it cannot be controlled by chemical means. Keeping these in view, screening of potential antibiotics for the management of R. solanacearum was done.
In the present study, three strains of R. solanacearum were isolated from Brinjal, Tomato and Capsicum. Against these three strains of R. solanacearum, four antibiotics were screened through food poison techniques viz. Kasugamycin, Streptomycin, Ceftriaxone and Gentamicin. The different strains of R. solanacearum and antibiotic sensitivity showed varied response. Among the screened antibiotics, Gentamicin showed strong antibacterial efficacy which inhibited 100% Colony-forming Unit (cfu) at very low concentration (1 ppm) followed by Ceftriaxone which inhibited >50% cfu at 1 ppm against all three strains. However, Streptomycin also showed antibacterial efficacy and inhibited >50% cfu at 3 ppm, but Kasugamycin was found less antibacterial as compared to other tested antibiotics and inhibited >50% cfu at 4 ppm
