    Get PDF
The problem and the solution. The Hindu religion has abundant literature applicable to human resource development (HRD). Using a holistic approach, Hindu texts address the process of developing people at both the micro and macro levels. Theoretical constructs related to adult learning in the workplace and organization development from the ancient Hindu scriptures are examined

A study of prevalence of thyroid disorders in patients with abnormal uterine bleeding

    Get PDF
Background: Thyroid gland is the most vital endocrine organ which plays a major role in growth, development, metabolism and function of almost every organ of our body. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism can result in menstrual irregularities. Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is one of the most common, yet complicated clinical presentation. It occurs in 10-20% of women between 15-50 years of age. Timely detection of thyroid dysfunction in patients presenting with AUB and their proper management can prevent unnecessary surgical interventions. This study was done to analyze the prevalence of thyroid dysfunction in patients with AUB and also to look for different menstrual patterns associated with thyroid dysfunction. Methods: This is a prospective study conducted at Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Government Medical College, Manjeri, Kerala, India. Total 200 patients were recruited into present study after satisfying all inclusion and exclusion criteria. Complete history was taken followed by a thorough examination. Baseline investigations and T3, T4, TSH was performed in all patients. Results were analyzed. Results: As per present study, majority of the patients with AUB were from the age group of 35-49 years (43%). In patients with AUB with thyroid dysfunction, prevalence of subclinical hypothyroidism was most common followed by hypothyroidism. According to our study thyroid dysfunction was most commonly seen in the age group of 35-49 years, and the most common presentation being menorrhagia. Conclusions: Timely diagnosis and proper management of thyroid dysfunction in women with AUB can avoid variety of non-specific and ineffective diagnostic and therapeutic procedures

Characterization and Electrical Conductivity of Electron Beam Irradiated Metal Phthalocyanine Complexes

Variation of DC electrical conductivity with temperature from 273-473 K of electron beam irradiated Tetra-nitro zinc, and Cu-Pcs,   were carried out. It   shows semiconductor behavior and resistivity varies from 0.043×10 5 Ω -cm to 64.61×10 5 Ω -cm for all complexes. Variation of conductivity with temperature shows two straight lines of different slopes the first line (LT), resembles the α– phase, (Ea 1 ) = 0.226 eV while the second line at 362 K resembles the β - phase (Ea 2 ) = 0.460 eV (for Cu- Pcs). The β -phase shows higher activation energy than the α -phase, and the X-ray diffraction studies reveal that the crystals are monoclinic. The conductivity is explained on the basis of Davis and Mott model. The conduction mechanism at lower temperature is explained in terms of hoping through a band of localized states and at higher temperatures in terms of thermal excitation of carriers to the band edge

Anomalous change in leakage and displacement currents after electrical poling on lead-free ferroelectric ceramics

We report the polarization, displacement current and leakage current behavior of a trivalent nonpolar cation Al cation substituted lead free ferroelectric NBT-BT electroceramics with tetragonal phase and P4mm space group symmetry. Nearly three orders of magnitude decrease in leakage current were observed under electrical poling, which significantly improves microstructure, polarization, and displacement current. Effective poling neutralizes the domain pinning, traps charges at grain boundaries and fills oxygen vacancies with free charge carriers in matrix, thus saturated macroscopic polarization in contrast to that in upoled samples. E-poling changes bananas type polarization loops to real ferroelectric loops.Comment: 18 pages, 5 figure

Stochastic Description of a Bistable Frustrated Unit

Mixed positive and negative feedback loops are often found in biological systems which support oscillations. In this work we consider a prototype of such systems, which has been recently found at the core of many genetic circuits showing oscillatory behaviour. Our model consists of two interacting species A and B, where A activates not only its own production, but also that of its repressor B. While the self-activation of A leads already to a bistable unit, the coupling with a negative feedback loop via B makes the unit frustrated. In the deterministic limit of infinitely many molecules, such a bistable frustrated unit is known to show excitable and oscillatory dynamics, depending on the maximum production rate of A which acts as a control parameter. We study this model in its fully stochastic version and we find oscillations even for parameters which in the deterministic limit are deeply in the fixed-point regime. The deeper we go into this regime, the more irregular these oscillations are, becoming finally random excitations whenever fluctuations allow the system to overcome the barrier for a large excursion in phase space. The fluctuations can no longer be fully treated as a perturbation. The smaller the system size (the number of molecules), the more frequent are these excitations. Therefore, stochasticity caused by demographic noise makes this unit even more flexible with respect to its oscillatory behaviour.Comment: 28 pages, 17 figure

Solid Wastes Recyling through Sinter-Status at Tata Steel

    Get PDF
Integrated steel plants generate several by-products rich in iron, flux and fuel values, categorised as waste. These by-products contain, besides mineral values, hazar-dous constituents causing damages to the environment. The environmental quality consciousness, the product cost competitiveness and high mineral values of these wastes have resulted in attempts to recyle these materials. Recycling recovers the mineral values, preserves the dec-reasing natural resources and deteriorating environment and eliminates the disposal cost. Sinter plant provides an avenue for recycling of these wastes. Recycling decreases the cost of sinter and hence the cost of steel produced. Present paper outlines the status of waste generation, their characteristics, and the quantity being recycled via the sinter plant at Tata Steel.Furthermore, it highlights the problems, which restricts its further recycling and discusses its influence on cost and quality of sinter

The purpose of this research study is to identify the authorship patterns and degree of collaboration and growth of Public health foundation of India in Public Health research related with a total of 1941 records of publications authored by 12523 authors during the period 2011– 2020 derived from SCOPUS database. Validation of determine chronological growth, authorship pattern, core sources for research communication, and encouragement of productivity by citations received, various indicators, and indices and bibliometric laws i.e. Authorship pattern, RGR, Dt, CAI, DC, Bradford’s Law of distributions, and more have been applied appropriately. Additionally, used deferent software of like ‘MS-Excel’ and ‘bibliometrix’ & ‘biblioshiny’ of R-Package software and VOSviwer software applied for detailed and reliable analysis. Evaluated data figured out Average yearly contribution 194 research however accounted Mean RGR(P) ‘0.34’; Mean Dt (P) ’2.74 reveals inconsistent growth of research output. Average of ‘Collaboration index’ (CI) ‘5.60’ A total Average yearly citations were received for research occurrence in the span with an average of 10.46, Prabhakaran. D., was published highest papers 260 and got received highest citation also 4958 and total link strength 1457. For PHFI and individual research scholars. PHFI has to make more effort to promote research and create quality culture, attention of developing better policies to enhance and enrich the research performance of individuals

    Little Higgs model effects in γγ→γγ\gamma \gamma \to \gamma \gamma

    Get PDF
Though the predictions of the Standard Model (SM) are in excellent agreement with experiments there are still several theoretical problems associated with the Higgs sector of the SM, where it is widely believed that some ``{\it new physics}'' will take over at the TeV scale. One beyond the SM theory which resolves these problems is the Little Higgs (LH) model. In this work we have investigated the effects of the LH model on \gggg scattering \cite{Choudhury:2006xa}.Comment: Talk given at LCWS06, Bangalore, 4 pages (style files included
