ISSUES OF ETHICS TRAINING IN TURKISH COUNSELOR EDUCATION AS ASSOCIATED WITH ACCREDITATION, CERTIFICATION, AND LICENSURE
The purpose of this study was to investigate qualifications of ethics training in counselor education programs in Turkey associated with accreditation, certification, and licensure. The survey data were collected from 251 Turkish counseling students to examine differences in ethical judgments between freshmen and seniors. This survey was based on the counselor ethical practice and belief survey by Gibson and Pope (1993) regarding Turkish counseling ethical codes and sources of ethics information. I used chi-square analyses to analyze the Turkish data. Statistically significant differences were found between university seniors and freshmen in items that related to dual relationships, multicultural counseling, competency, confidentiality, suicide prevention, fees and advertisement, and test administration. Compared to freshmen students, senior students’ ethical judgments were more consistent in most areas with Turkish ethical codes. Results also showed that female participants, compared to male participants, were more uncertain about their ethical judgments. Participants gave the highest rating of ethical information sources to their counseling programs, faculty members, and Turkish ethical codes, in that order. Results were integrated with accreditation, certification, and licensure developments in Turkey, and were compared with developments in the United States to make suggestions for future research
Assessing the validity and reliability of family factors on physical activity: A case study in Turkey
Background: Childhood obesity rates have been rising rapidly in developing countries. A better understanding of the risk factors and social context is necessary to inform public health interventions and policies. This paper describes the validation of several measurement scales for use in Turkey, which relate to child and parent perceptions of physical activity (PA) and enablers and barriers of physical activity in the home environment.
Method: The aim of this study was to assess the validity and reliability of several measurement scales in Turkey using a population sample across three socio-economic strata in the Turkish capital, Ankara. Surveys were conducted in Grade 4 children (mean age = 9.7 years for boys; 9.9 years for girls), and their parents, across 6 randomly selected schools, stratified by SES (n = 641 students, 483 parents). Construct validity of the scales was evaluated through exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. Internal consistency of scales and test-retest reliability were assessed by Cronbach\u27s alpha and intra-class correlation.
Results: The scales as a whole were found to have acceptable-to-good model fit statistics (PA Barriers: RMSEA = 0.076, SRMR = 0.0577, AGFI = 0.901; PA Outcome Expectancies: RMSEA = 0.054, SRMR = 0.0545, AGFI = 0.916, and PA Home Environment: RMSEA = 0.038, SRMR = 0.0233, AGFI = 0.976). The PA Barriers subscales showed good internal consistency and poor to fair test-retest reliability (personal α = 0.79, ICC = 0.29, environmental α = 0.73, ICC = 0.59). The PA Outcome Expectancies subscales showed good internal consistency and test-retest reliability (negative α = 0.77, ICC = 0.56; positive α = 0.74, ICC = 0.49). Only the PA Home Environment subscale on support for PA was validated in the final confirmatory model; it showed moderate internal consistency and test-retest reliability (α = 0.61, ICC = 0.48).
Discussion: This study is the first to validate measures of perceptions of physical activity and the physical activity home environment in Turkey. Our results support the originally hypothesized two-factor structures for Physical Activity Barriers and Physical Activity Outcome Expectancies. However, we found the one-factor rather than two-factor structure for Physical Activity Home Environment had the best model fit. This study provides general support for the use of these scales in Turkey in terms of validity, but test-retest reliability warrants further research
Protocol: A systematic review and meta-analysis of the role of fetal and infantile environmental exposure in etiopathogenesis of infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis
Infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis (IHPS) is one of the hallmark pediatric surgical diseases. However, its etiology remains incompletely understood. By systematically reviewing the literature, we aim to clarify the effect of the effect of occupational and environmental factors and role of nitric oxide (NO) metabolism in the etiopathogenesis of IHPS. The systematic review is drafted with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis statement (PRISMA) and the Meta-analysis of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE). Systematic literature search will be performed for the period 2000 (Jan) to 2020 (Dec) in the databases: MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed. The systematic search will cover the literature in English and Turkish language and will be limited to studies on human subjects. Four investigators will independently search the databases (MEDLINE, EMBASE, PubMed) according to the defined search strategy. The full-text of the selected articles will be screened independently by four reviewers, against the inclusion criteria. Descriptive data will be extracted from each study regarding: study details, methods, participants, outcomes and calculations of association for potential further statistical analysis. If meta-analysis could not be undertaken, systematic approach to analyzing the findings of included multiple studies will be described. Heterogeneity will be assessed by quantifying the inconsistency across studies using I2 statistic. Statistical analysis will be performed using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis Version 3.0 software. The p values lower than 0.05 will be considered statistically significant for all analyses
The impact of hybrid capture-based comprehensive genomic profiling on treatment strategies in patients with solid tumors
Objective: The development of bioinformatics and comprehensive genomic profiling (CGP) has provided insights into the ap-plicability and functionality of the genomic alterations (GA). In this study, we evaluated the impact of CGP on the treatment plan and outcomes in a significant number of patients. Material and Methods: We carried out a retrospective case-control study on 164 adult patients with advanced solid tumors from 15 oncology centers in Türkiye. Results: In all cases, CGP was performed within 23.8 [standard deviation (SD)±32.1] months of initial diagnosis. Non-small cell lung carcinoma, breast cancer, unknown primary carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, and sarcoma were among the most common tumor types, accounting for 61.5% of all cases. CGP was performed immediately after the diagnosis of advanced cancer in 13 patients (7.9%). In 158 patients (96.4%), at least one GA was found as per the CGP report. Also, in the reports, the average tumor mutational burden (TMB) and GAs were 7.3 (SD±8.7) mut/Mb and 3.5 (SD±2.0), respectively. According to CGP reports, 58 patients had 79 evidence-based drug suggestions for their particular tumor type, whereas 97 patients had 153 evidence-based drug suggestions for another tumor type. After the primary oncologist interpreted the CGP reports, significant changes were made to the treatment of 35 (21.3%) patients. Conclusion: We strongly believe that in the future, high-TMB or other tumor-agnostic biomarkers will become much more afford-able, and CGP will serve as one of the major decision-making tools for the treatment of patients along with pathological, radiological or lab-oratory tests

Parametrik incelemede endüstriyel robot yatırımında yatırım getirisi robotun yıllara göre etkileri, kurulum ve devreye alma gibi robot yatırımına etki eden parametreler dikkate alınmıştır.--------------------Today, factories are expected to produce more products in a short time and the cost of these products is expected to be at the lowest level. It is desirable to reduce manpower, reduce accidents and minimize downtime. At this point, robotic systems started to enter the circuit. Industrial robots are increasing rapidly in the industry and it is aimed to minimize the labor cost with such systems. These objectives are aimed at maximizing the return on investment. This is where offline programming and simulation come into play.In the installation of robotic systems, offline programming greatly contributes to the return on investment by minimizing the continuous production downtime in commissioning processes. In this thesis, using of robotic off-line programming has been explained and the parameters affecting the investment cost have been investigated with the off-line simulation during the design stage of industrial production robots. In the parametric examination, the parameters that affect the robot investment such as the return on investment in the industrial robot investment, the effects of the robot according to years, installation and commissioning are taken into consideration
