The Phenomenology Design was used in the present study which aims to determine the viewpoints of educational managers on how much the educational planning processes are successful in Turkey. The Phenomenology Design is one of the Qualitative Research Methods. In recent studies that aim to investigate the relation between development and education, it has been reported that the knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired with the help of education increase the incomes of the individuals and the country. The behaviors acquired by individuals with the help of education increase the productivity in economy. Planning is defined as a design process which will take an institution or an individual to a certain goal from the present position. Educational planning may be defined as a basic roadmap to cover the needs of the society and to realize the aims of it. Educational planning is not only a topic that interests the Ministry of Education. This is a common issue of ministries responsible for planning, economy and society. The Study Group was selected with the Maximum Variety Sampling Method, which is one of the Purposeful Sampling Methods. Ten principals (n=10) working in Ankara were selected as the sample of the study. Three main themes, which were developed by the author of the study, were used in the data collection tool. These themes were Planning Concept, Planning Activities, and Application of Educational Planning. A “Semi-Structured Interview Form”, which consisted of the sub-themes of these main themes, was also used as the data collection tool. Detailed interviews were made with the participants to collect the study data. The interview records were analyzed by the author of the study, and were then converted into text on computer. It was determined in the study that the participants knew the planning concept, and were aware of using it as a management process. It was also determined that the participants did not have adequate knowledge on educational planning concept. However, it is also possible to claim that the managers that had postgraduate education had knowledge on educational planning as well. It was observed that educational planning was generally made in Teachers Board at schools in school management. It was determined that educational managers point out the importance of an applicable educational planning.  Article visualizations

The phenomenology design which is one of the qualitative research methods was employed in this research that aimed to reveal the contribution of educational administrators’ usage of social media to educational administration. The research is an explanatory study survey model. The study groups were selected using convenience sampling method. In-depth interviews were conducted using a semi-structured interview form consisting of three themes along with their subthemes that is developed by the researcher as the data collection tool. It is revealed that the social media has an effect on school administration and it should be used effectively implying that every school administrator should know how to use social media consciously. It can be asserted that some educational administrators can use social media tools effectively and in a manner that can contribute to educational administration. It is concluded that effective social media use should contribute to school administration, but school administrators rather use social media to share information with teachers, and also school administrators should exhibit instructional leadership to teachers and students through effective social media use, but school administrators do not have enough knowledge and experience of instructional leadership. It can be stated that school administrators do not have enough experience in creating a vision and bringing team spirit

The purpose of this research was to determine administrators' views on their awareness of educational planning, purpose, benefits and problems they encounter with it. It was also aimed to find out if the administrators received education and training in educational planning. The research employed a qualitative phenomenological research design. The participants were 15 administrators who were determined with a maximum diversity method. The data were gathered with semi-structured interview technique and analyzed with descriptive analysis approach. Results revealed that most administrators received in-service training or education in educational planning, underlined numerous benefits, and they are aware of the importance of it. It was also discovered that although some administrators encounter problems, they consider educational planning as an important tool to achieve organizational goals

On translation surfaces in 4-dimensional Euclidean space

We consider translation surfaces in Euclidean spaces. Firstly, we give some results of translation surfaces in the 3-dimensional Euclidean space E3. Further, we consider translation surfaces in the 4-dimensional Euclidean space E4. We prove that a translation surface is flat in E4 if and only if it is either a hyperplane or a hypercylinder. Finally we give necessary and sufficient condition for a quadratic triangular Bézier surface in E4 to become a translation surface

Pedagojik formasyon kaldırılmalı ve yalnızca Eğitim Fakülteleri öğretmen yetiştirmelidirCurrent study was designed with phenomenological method of qualitative research methods, which aims to reveal the perspectives of 1st and 4th year students of Education Faculty and pedagogical training students on whether teaching profession requires expertise. Qualitative research methods were used to reveal participants’ views on whether teaching profession requires expertise. The data were collected in 2014-2015 fall term. The study group consists of 1st year students (67) and 4th year students (75) of Bayburt Education Faculty, and pedagogical training students (75). Purposeful sampling was used because 1st year students has met teaching profession recently, 4th year students will graduate and pedagogical training students were selected as they are suitable for appointment. Descriptive analysis technique was used to analyse qualitative data which were obtained from interviews. Additionally, percentage and frequency of responses were calculated. Students express that they have positive views about specialization and teaching profession is an expertise. As education faculty students object to appointment of other faculties’ graduate as teacher, pedagogical formation students think that it is appropriate after they have completed the trainin

The effect of atherogenic plasma index on collateral development in patients with chronic coronary total occlusion

Aim: To demonstrate the correlation between coronary collateral circulation (CCC) and atherogenic plasma index (AIP), one of the factors associated with the formation of collateral vessels. Methods: Hospital records of patients with chronic total occlusion (100% stenosis) in at least one coronary artery were evaluated. Triglycerides, HDL level, triglyceride/HDL ratio and atherogenic plasma index before coronary angiography were assessed for the 451 patients who met the study criteria. Results: Comparison of the two groups in terms of laboratory findings showed that triglyceride/HDL ratio (5.04±3.13 vs 3.56±2.12, p<0.001) and AIP (0.63±0.25 vs 0.48±0.25, p<0.001) were higher with statistical significance in the weak collateral group. The ROC analysis revealed an association between weak collateral formation and atherogenic plasma index with 64.7% sensitivity and 66.2% specificity using a cut-off value of 0.58 for AIP. Accordingly, low AIP was found to be an independent predictor of good collateral artery formation. Conclusion: This study suggests that a high atherogenic plasma index may be an independent factor associated with poor collateral formation
