Towards developing a risk charter for software development projects / Noor Habibah Arshad
The challenge of software development lies in its attempt to satisfy the users' requirements; control and cost management; product's schedule and product's quality.
To ensure that these criteria are met, product success and product management success need to be emphasized. Product success deals with goal and purpose while the project
management success deals with the project input and output. Project success may be achieved by having an integrated project management process where an important aspect of the process is risk management. The risk management process must be integrated into the plan to enable a project manager to effectively manage the software development. In the software risk management process, risk identification is one of the most important components that needs to be tackled before developing any meaningful risk management strategies. Therefore, in this paper, risks related to software development are identified and discussed
Use of infostructure for disaster: Towards definition of infostructure
Infostructure’ is used in multiple disciplines and it carries different meaning. The variety of meaning of this term makes it hard to be applied
to a specific discipline.Different definition exists and this paper is an extension work of building the definition for ‘infostructure’ to be used specifically in the area of disaster management. The earlier work had analysed existing definitions of infostructure from various disciplines, and similar definitions was searched from selected databases. In this paper, the work of building the definition is continued by analyzing the selected definitions to extract common elements and to establish the basic characteristics of infostructure tailored to disaster management.Based on these existing definitions, this paper presents the exhaustive and consistent definition for infostructure
which are contrasted in 4 cases, selected from different countries that experienced different type of disaster
Thematic analysis of issues experienced by blended learning learners / Noridah Abu Bakar … [et al.]
Blended learning has been recognised as an opportunity to improve the teaching and learning process by complementing the strengths and weaknesses of face-to-face instructions and online learning. While most researches focused on the success factors, there is a research gap in the issues of blended learning which has become a barrier to the learning process. This research seeks to explore the issues of blended learning process experienced by learners in higher education. A survey to a selected group of Blended Learning learners based on convenience sampling techniques was carried out to explore these issues. Qualitative data analysis was used to analyse descriptive data thematically and categorised into few main themes. With regards to the issues, 37 raw themes were identified and were categorised into seven (7) main themes. The findings showed that Learning Management System (LMS) was the main issue followed by engagement issue, material issue, server issue, network issue, instructor issue and device issue. The recommendations made by the respondents were also discussed as their points of view are treasured. This study has direct implications to higher education policy makers, ICT administrative teams, curriculum designers, and educators as instructors for blended learning approach
Consumer perceptions of internet retail service quality
Service quality is increasingly recognized as an important aspect of electronic commerce (e-commerce).Because the online comparison of the technical features of products is essentially costless, feasible and easier than comparisons of
products through traditional channels, service quality is the key determinant for successful e-commerce.The purpose of this study is to explore consumers’ perceptions of Internet retail service quality.A number of dimensions have been described in the literatures, however six dimensions that are important to consumers in their assessment of the quality of Internet retailers were identified. These are reliability (how well an online retailer does in terms of meeting expectations regarding order fulfilment), access (Internet retailer’s ability to provide communication access and a variety of products from anywhere in the world), security (relating to perceptions of trust in the online retailer’s integrity regarding financial and privacy issues), efficiency (refers to the speed of search and downloading and prompt reply to enquiries), ease of use (how easy the Internet retailer’s website is for consumers to conduct, search and navigate) and information (quantity and credibility of information provider by the online retailer).Other objective is to highlight how online retailers can use the information from this study to enhance their service quality.Findings from the study could be used as the basis for the development of e-service quality for Internet retailing
Conceptual framework on information security risk management in information technology outsourcing / Nik Zulkarnaen Khidzir, Noor Habibah Arshad and Azlinah Mohamed
Data security and protection are seriously considered as information security
risk for information asset in IT outsourcing (ITO). Therefore, risk management
and analysis for security management is an approach to determine which
security controls are appropriate and cost effective to be implemented across
organization for ITO to secure data/information asset. However, previous
established approach does not extensively focus into information security
risk in ITO. For that reason, a conceptual framework on information security
risk management in IT outsourcing (ISRM-ITO) will be introduced throughout
this paper. An extensive amount of literature review on fundamental concepts,
theoretical background and previous findings on information security risk
management and ITO had been conducted. Throughout the review, theoretical
foundation and the process that lead to success in managing information
security risk ITO were identified and these findings become a key component
in developing the conceptual framework. ISRM-ITO conceptual framework
consists of two layers. The first layer concentrates on information security
risks identification and analysis before the decision is made to outsource it.
The second layer will cover the approach of information security risk
management which is used to analyze, mitigate and monitor risks for the rest
of the ITO lifecycle. Proposed conceptual framework could improve
organization practices in information security study for IT outsourcing through
the adoption of risk management approach. Finally, an approach to determine
a cost effective security control for information security risk can be
implemented successfully in the ITO cycle
E-Service quality : Malaysian perceptions / Noor Habibah Arshad, Norjansalika Janom and Isnainy Mohd Idris
The opportunities and challenges offered by the 'electronic retail market place' are certainly generating both excitement and concern within the business community. However, Internet retailing is still very much in its infancy especially in Malaysia. One of the factors to boost the usage of electronic retail market place is the service quality. Service quality is increasingly recognized as an important aspect of electronic retail marketplace. Service quality is the key determinant for successful e-commerce. Gummesson (1979) was one of the first to suggest that the
concept of service quality was strongly related to perceptions and trust. This study aims to gather information about consumer perceptions of Internet retail service quality based on selected dimensions, which represent overall quality of Internet retailing. The dimensions are reliability, access, security, efficiency, ease of use and information. Other objectives are to see whether demographic profile and Internet usage would influence the perception on the e-service quality
