Portuguese validation of the Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire short version in youth: Validity, reliability and invariance across gender and age
The Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (CERQ) is a multidimensional measure widely used to access nine cognitive emotion regulation strategies. In this study, we examined the psychometric properties of the CERQ-Short Portuguese version. A sample of 1052 adolescents (aged 10-25 years old, 60.53% females) completed the CERQ-Short form, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, the Generalised Anxiety Disorder Scale, and the Patient Health Questionnaire. Confirmatory factor analyses showed that the nine latent dimensions of CERQ-Short provided an acceptable fit to the data. Measurement invariance (for gender and three age groups), reliability, and construct validity were adequate. The adaptative strategies were positively associated with higher positive affect, and maladaptive strategies with higher negative affect, symptoms of generalized anxiety, and depression. These results suggest that CERQ-Short is a valid and reliable measure for Portuguese-speaking samples. Moreover, CERQ-Short’s length makes it a cost-effective tool for both clinicians and researchers.info:eu-repo/semantics/acceptedVersio
Effect of Supplementation of Dairy Cows under Cut and Carry or Grazing of Irrigated Cultivated Pastures in Small Scale Dairy Systems in the Highlands of Central Mexico
Small-scale dairy systems in Mexico represent over 78% of dairy farms and produce 37% of the nation’s milk, and have an important role in reducing rural poverty. Small-scale dairy systems are defined by having herds of 3 to 35 cows plus replacements, and rely mostly on the family for labour. In the central highlands, many small-scale dairy farms base the feeding of herds on irrigated cultivated pastures of ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum, L. perenne) – white clover (Trifolium repens), mostly under cut-and-carry by hand with scythes, straws, and large amounts of commercial compound concentrates that result in high feeding costs and low economic sustainability (Fadul-Pacheco et al., 2013). One option to optimize the use of resources in these systems is to change the use of grasslands to intensive grazing that result in lower feeding costs when compared to cut-and-carry strategies. Also, the high protein content of pasture may meet requirements for moderate yields by dairy cows, so that commercial concentrates may be substituted by lower protein, lower cost supplements like ground maize grain and remove the straws of the diets
Nutritional Characteristics of Four Species of Native Pastures from the Highlands of Central Mexico
Research in Mexico has been devoted to nutritional characterisation of improved pastures, but native species of grasses have not been studied. The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the nutritional value of four species of native pastures and composite samples of them
Director: Ing. Agr. Fernando D. García, Cátedra Terapéutica Vegetal, Facultad de Agronomía
Order N photonic band structures for metals and other dispersive materials
We show, for the first time, how to calculate photonic band structures for
metals and other dispersive systems using an efficient Order N scheme. The
method is applied to two simple periodic metallic systems where it gives
results in close agreement with calculations made with other techniques.
Further, the approach demonstrates excellent numerical stablity within the
limits we give. Our new method opens the way for efficient calculations on
complex structures containing a whole new class of material.Comment: Four pages, plus seven postscript figures. Submitted to Physical

Two-nucleon emission in the longitudinal response
The contribution of the two-nucleon emission in the longitudinal response for
inclusive electron scattering reactions is studied. The model adopted to
perform the calculations is based upon Correlated Basis Function theory but it
considers only first order terms in the correlation function. The proper
normalization of the wave function is ensured by considering, in addition to
the usually evaluated two-point diagrams, also the three-point diagrams.
Results for the 12C nucleus in the quasi-elastic region are presented.Comment: 7 pages, 4 Postscript figure
Femtometer Toroidal Structures in Nuclei
The two-nucleon density distributions in states with isospin , spin
=1 and projection =0 and 1 are studied in H, He,
Li and O. The equidensity surfaces for =0 distributions are
found to be toroidal in shape, while those of =1 have dumbbell shapes
at large density. The dumbbell shapes are generated by rotating tori. The
toroidal shapes indicate that the tensor correlations have near maximal
strength at fm in all these nuclei. They provide new insights and simple
explanations of the structure and electromagnetic form factors of the deuteron,
the quasi-deuteron model, and the , and =2 (-wave)
components in He, He and Li. The toroidal distribution has a
maximum-density diameter of 1 fm and a half-maximum density thickness of
0.9 fm. Many realistic models of nuclear forces predict these values,
which are supported by the observed electromagnetic form factors of the
deuteron, and also predicted by classical Skyrme effective Lagrangians, related
to QCD in the limit of infinite colors. Due to the rather small size of this
structure, it could have a revealing relation to certain aspects of QCD.Comment: 35 pages in REVTeX, 25 PostScript figure
Solutions of the Faddeev-Yakubovsky equations for the four nucleons scattering states
The Faddeev-Yakubowsky equations in configuration space have been solved for
the four nucleon system. The results with an S-wave interaction model in the
isospin approximation are presented. They concern the bound and scattering
states below the first three-body threshold. The elastic phase-shifts for the
N+NNN reaction in different () channels are given and the corresponding
low energy expansions are discussed. Particular attention is payed to the n+t
elastic cross section. Its resonant structure is well described in terms of a
simple NN interaction. First results concerning the S-matrix for the coupled
N+NNN-NN+NN channels and the strong deuteron-deuteron scattering length are
obtained.Comment: latex.tar.gz, 36 pages, 10 figures, 11 tables. To be published in

Exact 4He Spectral Function in a Semirealistic NN Potential Model
The spectral function of 4He is calculated with the Lorentz integral
transform method in a large energy and momentum range. The excitation spectrum
of the residual 3N-system is fully taken into account. The obtained spectral
function is used to calculate the quasi elastic longitudinal (e,e') response
R_l of 4He for q=300, 400, and 500 MeV/c. Comparison with the exact R_l shows a
rather sizeable disagreement except in the quasi elastic peak, where the
differences reduce to about 10% at q=500 MeV/c. It is shown as well that very
simple momentum distribution approximations for the spectral function provide
practically the same results for R_l as the exact spectral function.Comment: 7 pages, Latex (Revtex), 4 Postscript figures, to appear in Phys.

Spin-Isospin Structure and Pion Condensation in Nucleon Matter
We report variational calculations of symmetric nuclear matter and pure
neutron matter, using the new Argonne v18 two-nucleon and Urbana IX
three-nucleon interactions. At the equilibrium density of 0.16 fm^-3 the
two-nucleon densities in symmetric nuclear matter are found to exhibit a
short-range spin-isospin structure similar to that found in light nuclei. We
also find that both symmetric nuclear matter and pure neutron matter undergo
transitions to phases with pion condensation at densities of 0.32 fm^-3 and 0.2
fm^-3, respectively. Neither transtion occurs with the Urbana v14 two-nucleon
interaction, while only the transition in neutron matter occurs with the
Argonne v14 two-nucleon interaction. The three-nucleon interaction is required
for the transition to occur in symmetric nuclear matter, whereas the the
transition in pure neutron matter occurs even in its absence. The behavior of
the isovector spin-longitudinal response and the pion excess in the vicinity of
the transition, and the model dependence of the transition are discussed.Comment: 44 pages RevTeX, 15 postscript figures. Minor modifications to
