Distinguishing technicolor models via tt-bar productions at polarized photon colliders
We study top quark pair productions at a polarized photon collider from an
e(+)e(-) linear collider (LC) in various improved technicolor model, namely,
the one-family walking technicolor model, the top-color-assisted technicolor
model, and the top-color-assisted multiscale technicolor model. Recent
constraint on the top-pion mass from the precision data of R(b) is considered.
It is shown that, considering only the statistical errors, a polarized photon
collider from a 500 GeV LC with an integrated luminosity of 500 inverse fb is
sufficient for distinguishing the three improved technicolor models
experimentally.Comment: 7 pages, 6 figures, to appear in Physical Review
Braneworld cosmological singularities
The purpose of this brief report is to present some results of our on-going
project on the asymptotic behaviour of braneworld-type solutions on approach to
their possible finite `time' singularities.Comment: 3 pages, contribution to appear in the Proceedings of the MG11

Inflation from Susy quantum cosmology
We propose a realization of inverted hybrid inflation scenario in the context
of n=2 supersymmetric quantum cosmology. The spectrum of density fluctuations
is calculated in the de Sitter regimen as a function of the gravitino and the
Planck mass, and explicit forms for the wave function of the universe are found
in the WKB regimen for a FRW closed and flat universes.Comment: 9 pages, one figure, to appear in Phys. Rev.

Study of Bs-> \phi l^+ l^-$ Decay in a Single Universal Extra Dimension
Utilizing form factors calculated within the light-cone sum rules, we have
evaluated the decay branching ratios of and in a single universal extra dimension model (UED), which is
viewed as one of the alternative theories beyond the standard model (SM). For
the decay , the dilepton invariant mass spectra, the
forward-backward asymmetry, and double lepton polarization are also calculated.
For each case, we compared the obtained results with predictions of the SM. In
lower values of the compactification factor 1/R, the only parameter in this
model, we see the considerable discrepancy between the UED and SM models.
However, when 1/R increases, the results of UED tend to diminish and at , two models have approximately the same predictions.
Compared with data from CDF of , the 1/R tends to be
larger than . We also note that the zero crossing point of
the forward-backward asymmetry is become smaller, which will be an important
plat to prob the contribution from the extra dimension model. The results
obtained in this work will be very useful in searching new physics beyond SM.
Moreover, the order of magnitude for branching ratios shows a possibility to
study these channels at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CDF and the future
super-B factory.Comment: 13 pages, 16 figure

(2). How does the effect of the application of the talking stick learning model on the learning outcomes of students in the subject matter of biology on the characteristics of living things in class VII of SMP Negeri 3 Bulik Timur, Lamandau Regency. (3). How do students respond to the application of the talking stick learning model in the subject matter of biology on the characteristics of living things in grade VII of SMP Negeri 3 Bulik Timur, Lamandau Regency.
This research uses quantitative methods with correlational type of research As for this study using Cluster Sampling, researchers only took 2 classes, namely classes VIIB and VIIC, amounting to 48 students. Data processing steps are Editing, Coding, Tabularing, and Analizing. Data collection uses Popilation, Test, Documentation and Stamp techniques. Then test the hypothesis
The results showed that (1) Learning management is in the quite good category, with the results of the assessment rubric being on average. (2) student learning activities using the talking stick learning model at very high qualifications, this is based on respondents' data showing figures around 65-95 and also evidenced by the mean results (average) of 83.29. . (3) Student learning outcomes on the material characteristics of living things in SMP N 3 East Bulik are included in the sufficient criteri
Universal properties of Fermi gases in arbitrary dimensions
We consider spin-1/2 Fermi gases in arbitrary, integer or non-integer spatial
dimensions, interacting via a Dirac delta potential. We first generalize the
method of Tan's distributions and implement short-range boundary conditions to
arbitrary dimension and we obtain a set of universal relations for the Fermi
gas. Three-dimensional scattering under very general conditions of transversal
confinement is described by an effectively reduced-dimensional scattering
length, which we show depends on the three-dimensional scattering length in a
universal way. Our formula for non-integer dimensions interpolates between the
known results in integer dimensions 1, 2 and 3. Without any need to solve the
associated multichannel scattering problem, we find that confinement-induced
resonances occur in all dimensions different from D=2, while
reduced-dimensional contacts, related to the tails of the momentum
distributions, are connected to the three-dimensional contact by a correction
factor of purely geometric origin.Comment: 6 pages, 0 figure
What Is Retirement? A Review and Assessment of Alternative Concepts and Measures
Since the concept of retirement is prominent in both popular thinking and academic studies it would be helpful if the notion were analytically sound, could be measured with precision, and would make possible comparisons of patterns of retirement over time and among different populations. This paper reviews and assesses the many concepts and measures that have been proposed, summarizing them in groupings that reflect nonparticipation or reduced participation in the labour force, receipt of pension income, endof- career employment, self-assessed retirement, or combinations of those characteristics. It concludes that there is no agreed measure and that no one measure dominates. Instead, new measures continue to be proposed to take account of additional refinements as new data sets become available, thereby further restricting possible comparisons. The confusing array of definitions reflects the practical problem that underlies the concept of retirement: it is an essentially negative notion, a notion of what people are not doing â namely, that they are not working. A more positive approach would be to focus instead on what people are doing, including especially their involvement in non-market activities that are socially productive, even if those activities do not contribute to national income as conventionally measured.concepts of retirement, measures of retirement
