Relevant gluonic energy scale of spontaneous chiral symmetry breaking from lattice QCD
We analyze which momentum component of the gluon field induces spontaneous
chiral symmetry breaking in lattice QCD. After removing the high-momentum or
low-momentum component of the gluon field, we calculate the chiral condensate
and observe the roles of these momentum components. The chiral condensate is
found to be drastically reduced by removing the zero-momentum gluon. The
reduction is about 40% of the total in our calculation condition. The
nonzero-momentum infrared gluon also has a sizable contribution to the chiral
condensate. From the Banks-Casher relation, this result reflects the nontrivial
relation between the infrared gluon and the zero-mode quark
QCD in the nuclear medium and effects due to Cherenkov gluons
The equations of in-medium gluodynamics are proposed. Their classical lowest
order solution is explicitly shown for a color charge moving with constant
speed. For nuclear permittivity larger than 1 it describes emission of
Cherenkov gluons resembling results of classical electrodynamics. The values of
the real and imaginary parts of the nuclear permittivity are obtained from the
fits to experimental data on the double-humped structure around the away-side
jet obtained at RHIC. The dispersion of the nuclear permittivity is predicted
by comparing the RHIC, SPS and cosmic ray data. This is important for LHC
experiments. Cherenkov gluons may be responsible for the asymmetry of dilepton
mass spectra near rho-meson, observed in the SPS experiment with excess in the
low-mass wing of the resonance. This feature is predicted to be common for all
resonances. The "color rainbow" quantum effect might appear according to higher

Dynamical Gauge Symmetry Breaking in Extension of the Standard Model
We study the extension of the Standard model with a
strong U(1) coupling. We argue that current experiments limit this coupling to
be relatively large. The model is dynamically broken to the Standard model at the scale of a few TeV with all the extra gauge bosons
and the exotic quarks acquiring masses much larger than the scale of
electroweak symmetry breaking. Furthermore we find that the model leads to
large dynamical mass of the top quark and hence also breaks the electroweak
gauge symmetry. It therefore leads to large dynamical effects within the

Analysis on the cryogenic stability and mechanical properties of the LHD helical coils
Transient normal-transitions have been observed in the superconducting helical coils of LHD. Propagation of a normal-zone is analyzed with a numerical simulation code that deals with the magnetic diffusion process in a pure aluminum stabilizer. During excitation tests, a number of spike signals are observed in the balance voltage of the helical coils, which seem to be caused by mechanical disturbances. The spike signals are analyzed by applying pulse height analysis and the mechanical properties of the coil windings are investigated
Mosquito Repellency of Polyester Nets Treated with Cyclodextrin/Repellent Complexes
Fabric treatments with β-Cyclodextrins (β-CD) have been studied for different applications as nanotechnologycal approaches to achieve functional textiles. In particular, repellents and insecticides have been incorporated in β-CD treated textiles to prolong their release. In this case, Citriodiol®, a naturally derived mosquito repellent, was incorporated to β-CD treated polyester (PET) nets. Two methods for citriodiol inclusion were studied; i) pipette dripping or ii) impregnation of fabric in a plastic bag, in order to increase the repellent activity of PET textile substrates. Release profiles were analyzed by gas chromatography and repellency was monitored by in vivo assays with Aedes aegypti mosquitoes. Long lasting and reloadable mosquito repellent nets could be achieved by treating PET knits with citriodiol/β-CD complexes.Centro de Estudios Parasitológicos y de Vectore
