P. Krasnov's Beyond the Thistle and V. Sorokin's Day of the Oprichnik: Two Versions of Eurasian Utopia

The comparison of two novels, joined by a common theme of violence, reveals conceptual distinctions of these books, offering two views on Eurasian utopia. Antinationalist anti-utopia of the modern author is opposed to Krasnov's nationalist utopia. It is proved that Sorokin's novel is not a political pamphlet, as the author deconstructs the modern cultural situation from the postmodernist position
