Development of a smart grid for the proposed 33 KV ring main Distribution System in NIT Rourkela
The non-reliability of fossil fuels has forced the world to use energy efficiently. These days, it is being stressed to use the electrical power smartly so that energy does not go waste. And hence comes the concept of a Smart Grid. So it becomes necessary for reputed places of academics to develop the prototype of the same in their campus.
National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela intends to set up a 33KV Ring Main Distribution System including 33/0.433 KV substations in its campus. The present 11KV line will be discarded and replaced by the 33KV system. The main driving force behind this step by the management is to accommodate the stupendously increased power requirement of the institute. The above mentioned plan also includes, set up of Data Acquisition System (DAS) that intends to monitor the electrical equipment in the substations. This is being done not only to increase the accountability and reliability of the distribution system but also to encourage academic research in the distribution automation domain. All in all, an excellent step towards make the Grid, Smart.
In this project work the focus is laid on getting load flow solution of the 33KV ring main system. Here the authors use a specialized algorithm for distribution network with high R/X value to obtain the load flow solution. Then using artificial neural networks computation, algorithms are implemented to do the load forecasting and dynamic tariff setting. At the end a Web Portal, the NITR e-Power Monitoring System is developed that will be an excellent interface to the public in general and will help the students of the institute to know their grid well. In short a conscious effort is put to make the grid more interactive
Giant-cell tumour of proximal radius in a 50-year-old female with wrist drop: a rare case report
Abstract Giant-cell tumour is a locally aggressive tumour of long bones of epiphyseal region commonly occurring in adults aged 20–40 years. Most common location is distal femur, proximal tibia, and distal radius. Different treatment options being used are curettage with bone graft or bone cement, resection with arthrodesis, reconstruction, radiation, and chemotherapy. We are reporting a case of giant-cell tumour of right proximal radius in a 50-year-old female with posterior interosseous nerve palsy. It is very rare, and only four cases have been reported in the literature. It was treated by wide margin resection with fibular grafting, titanium elastic nail system along with cancellous bone graft reconstruction
Squamous cell carcinoma of tympanomastoid region – A rare and often misdiagnosed entity
Squamous cell carcinoma of the temporal bone and external auditory canal is a rare entity. We present a case of 62 year old male, with stage IV squamous cell carcinoma of tympanomastoid region. As the tumour was deemed unresectable, mass debulking was done and patient was given post-operative radiotherapy. The objective to report this case was to emphasise the importance of early diagnosis and prompt treatment for a better survival. A high index of suspicion is necessary as the initial presentation may mimic more common otologic conditions
Role of Silver Diamine Fluoride in Permanent Tooth Caries Management: A Narrative Review
Introduction: Silver Diamine Fluoride is vastly used in preventive and therapeutic management of deciduous dentition. It includes its utilization as a fissure sealant, for arresting carious lesions and as a pulp capping agent. However, its use in permanent dentition is limited. Hence, the present narrative review has been conducted in order to assess SDF use in permanent dentition.
Methodology: Present review was conducted to evaluate role of SDF in permanent tooth caries management. A rigorous literature search was conducted utilizing various databases suchas PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, Cochrane Database, and CTRI (Clinical Trial Registry - India). The search period was defined to be last 10 years, that is, from 1st January 2012 to 31st December 2021. Terminologies "Silver Diamine Fluoride," "SDF," "Permanent Dentition” were included. The terminologies were combined using Boolean Operations "AND" and "OR".
Results: 7 studies were identified after following inclusion and exclusion criteria. The included studies were evaluated for study design, nature of trial along with its type, materials compared and procedure performed along with the results. Various uses of SDF were identified such as fissure sealant, in root caries management, in proximal or occlusal caries management along with its use as indirect pulp capping agent.
Conclusion: Although SDF use in primary dentition is widely acknowledged. Its use in permanent dentition is still limited. Hence more clinical trials need to be carried out for better understanding of this material

Findings of the research found out that factors including marketing activities and eWOM significantly impact customer purchase intention of the boutique hotels in Malaysia through the mediating variable perceived usefulness and the mediating variable perceived trust. The study offers implications for the development of social media marketing in boutique hotels
Correlation of acromial morphology in association with rotator cuff tear : a retrospective study
Purpose: There have been many studies that have attempted to correlate radiographic acromial characteristics with rotator cuff tears, but the results have not been conclusive. Rotator cuff tears (RCT) are the common aetiology of shoulder pain. We assessed the association of rotator cuff tears with commonly used radiographic parameters of acromial morphology and their different radiographic characteristics. Material and methods: From a retrospective study of 98 patients, we characterised acromial type and measured acromial thickness (AT), critical shoulder angle (CSA), lateral acromial angle (LAA), acromiohumeral distance (AHD), and acromion index (AI) on a 1.5T MRI, from 68 patients with partial or full-thickness supraspinatus tendon tears and 30 controls without tears. Results: Out the 68 patients with rotator cuff tear, supraspinatus was the most commonly affected tendon, with 86% (59) cases showing abnormalities. The average age of the patients was 45.11 ± 21.45 years with male dominance (80%). Partial tears of rotator cuff were more common than complete tears. Forty-eight cases showed partial tears in supraspinatus as compared to 11 cases of complete tears. The acromial type did not show any correlation with any particular cuff lesion. The AT and AI of controls were significantly smaller than cuff-tear patients. The LAA of cuff-tear patients was significantly different from that of control patients. The impingement patients demonstrated a significantly greater acromial thickness, larger CSA, decreased AHD, and decreased LAA than their control counterparts. Conclusions: A higher prevalence of rotator cuff tears and impingement associated with low lateral acromial angle, larger CSA and decreased AHD was observed. AT and AI have a direct correlation with rotator cuff tear
