    Keberadaan Anisakis Typica (Anisakidae) Dari Ikan Tongkol Dan Ikan Layang Dari Perairan Sulawesi Barat

    Anisakis (L3-stage) is a parasitic nematode commonly found in marine fish or squid serve as intermediate or paratenic host. The purpose of this research was to identify Anisakis larvae using PCR-RFLP and sequencing methods. A total of 30 individuals of each species: bullet tuna (Auxis rochei) and Indian scad(Decapterus russeli) were examined for presence of Anisakis spp. Fish samples caught by fishermen around Mamuju waters were purchased at a fish market. The fish was necropsied and the organs: liver, intestine wall, heart and muscle were removed and put on separated petri dishes and examined for parasites under a stereo microscope. Anisakis found was cleaned and fixed in 70% alcohol. Initial identification was based on ventriculus shape and presence of mucron to distinguish Anisakis type I and Anisakis type II. All Anisakis found belong to Anisakis type I. Ten Anisakis type I were isolated, cleaned and stored in microfuge tubes containing 70% alcohol. The parasite gDNA was extracted using Wizard genomic DNA extraction and purification kit (Promega).Species of Anisakis was determined by PCR-RFLP at ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region using two restriction enzymes: Taq I and Hinf I and PCR-sequencing in mtDNA cox2 region. Analysis by PCR-RFLP showed that all Anisakis type Iexamined was in the same pattern as Anisakis typica. Sequencing in mtDNAcox-2 region and the phylogenetic analysis showed that all samples were in the same cluster as A. typica. Based on PCR-RFLP and sequencinganalysis, all Anisakis found in this study belong to A. typica

    Inventarisasi Arthropoda pada Permukaan Tanah di Pertanaman Cabai (Capsicum Annum L.)

    Suatu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk menginventarisasi Arthropoda yang berada pada ekosistem pertanaman Cabai (Capsicum annum L.) di Desa Lolu Kecamatan Biromaru Kabupaten Sigi telah berlangsung sejakbulan Februari sampai dengan April 2012. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada tiga hamparan pertanaman cabai yang berbeda umur (yakni : 20, 40, dan 70 hari setelah tanam, hst). Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik alat perangkap sumuran Pitt fall trap dan piring umpan yang diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa pada setiap periode pengamatan jumlah individu Arthoropoda berbeda berdasarkan umur tanaman. Jumlah individu Arthropoda pada pengamatan ketiga lebih banyak di bandingkan denganpada pengamatan pertama dan kedua. Tinggi rendahnya populasi Arthropoda tersebut berkesesuaian dengan fase tumbuh tanaman yang menyediakan sumber makanan bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan Arthropoda

    New record of monogenean parasite Mymarothecium viatorum (Monogenea; Dactylogyridae) in red-bellied pacu (Piaractus brachypomus) in Indonesia

    Red-bellied pacu (Piaractus brachypomus) is a popular exotic fish cultured globally for ornamental and human consumption purposes. In Indonesia, this fish is mainly cultured in Java, including to supply seed to other regions for the ornamental fish trade or aquaculture. Although this exotic fish in widely cultured, information on parasitic infections is negligible. Red-bellied pacus were purchased from a fish farmer and examined for monogenean parasite infection. Monogenean parasites were identified based on morphological and molecular characteristics. Histopathological examinations were performed on gills from heavily infected fish. DNA was extracted from an individual monoge-nean; 18S rRNA PCR product was sequenced and a phylogenetic tree constructed. Morphological and molecular traits identified the monogenean as Mymarothecium viatorum, the first report of the neotropical M. viatorum in this region. The parasite was most likely introduced to Indonesia through the importation of ornamental fish. This parasite had a prevalence of 79% and a mean intensity of 7.1. There was no significant correlation between the parasite abundance and the condition factor of the fish. M. viatorum was more abundant on smaller fish than on larger fish. Gill histopathology showed oedema, severe haemorrhage, and infiltration of inflammatory cells. The occurrence of these parasites could pose a serious threat to the development of red-bellied pacu culture

    International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is an organization founded in 1865 with thegoal of developing the technology and Informatics. Indonesia is one country that has anoffice member of ITU since 1984 as a coordination center in the Southeast Asia regionworking together to develop and secure ICT in the countries of Southeast Asia. Thisresearch seeks to analyze the role of ITU in combatting cyber crime rate in Indonesia in2011 - 2013, at which time the level of criminal activity in Indonesia cyber crime hasincreased. By using the method descriptive study, researchers found that the ITU has beeninstrumental in making every effort to develop and secure ICT in Indonesia, but there arefactors that make cyber crime in Indonesia has increased in 2011 - 2013. However afterfurther testing through a variety of data and a pooled analysis, the researchers concludedthat there are barriers that keep cyber crime in Indonesia increased despite the ITU hasbeen instrumental in Indonesia
