The aim of this study was to describe types and how of the free morpheme uttered by a two-year-old Indonesian Child. It was a qualitative research design which was observed with a single case study. The instruments used were observation and interview. The researcher observed the subject for two months where conversation in diffrent contexts in daily activities took place. The data collected were the utterances produced by the subject in diffrent context and interview. The data were analyzed by using the theory of language acquisition and free morpheme. The results of this study were: (1) the two types of free morpheme namely lexical and function word were uttered by the subject in his daily activities in diffrent context. (2) the using of free morpheme occured analysis were: saying statement, refusing advise, saying dislike, asking gift, refusing comment, asking question, and the last is avoiding quarrel. The using of free morpheme based on the speaker\u27s backgruond analysis was internded to be used for the interaction in community

Role for the fission yeast RecQ helicase in DNA repair in G2.

Members of the RecQ helicase subfamily are mutated in several human genomic instability syndromes, such as Bloom, Werner, and Rothmund-Thomson syndromes. We show that Rqh1, the single Schizosaccharomyces pombe homologue, is a 3'-to-5' helicase and exists with Top3 in a high-molecular-weight complex. top3 deletion is inviable, and this is suppressed by concomitant loss of rqh1 helicase activity or loss of recombination functions. This is consistent with RecQ helicases in other systems. By using epistasis analysis of the UV radiation sensitivity and by analyzing the kinetics of Rhp51 (Rad51 homologue), Rqh1, and Top3 focus formation in response to UV in synchronized cells, we identify the first evidence of a function for Rqh1 and Top3 in the repair of UV-induced DNA damage in G(2). Our data provide evidence that Rqh1 functions after Rad51 focus formation during DNA repair. We also identify a function for Rqh1 upstream of recombination in an Rhp18-dependent (Rad18 homologue) pathway. The model that these data allow us to propose helps to reconcile different interpretations of RecQ family helicase function that have arisen between work based on the S. pombe system and models based on studies of Saccharomyces cerevisiae SGS1 suggesting that RecQ helicases act before Rad51

The objectives of this experimental research were to investigate whether: 1) students’ achievement in descriptive writing taught by using Project-Based Learning method was higher than taught by using Problem Based Learning method, 2) students’ achievement in descriptive writing with introvert personalities was higher than those with extrovert personalities, 3) there was interaction between teaching methods and students’ personalities on students’ achievement in descriptive writing. The population of this research was the students in grade VIII of SMP GKPI Padang Bulan Medan 2016/2017 school academic year. The total number of population were 72 students. There were 51 students selected as sample of this research by applying Teaching Methods. The research design was experimental research by using 2×2 factorial design. The students were divided into two experimental groups. The experimental group I was treated by using Project-Based Learning and experimental group II was treated by using Problem Based Learning. The questionnaire was conducted for classifying the students upon the introvert and extrovert personalities. Students’ achievement in descriptive writing was measured by using writing test. The data were analyzed by applying two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) at the level of significance α = 0,05. The result reveals that 1) students’ achievement in descriptive writing taught by using Project-Based Learning method was higher than taught by using Problem Based Learning with total mean scores 67,97 > 64,6. 2) students’ achievement in descriptive text with introvert personalities was higher than that with extrovert personalities with total mean score 76,52 > 56,28. 3) there is interaction between teaching methods and students’ personalities on students’ achievement in descriptive writing with the total average scores 80,47>56,96. After computing the Scheffee-test, the result showed that introvert students got higher achievement if they were taught by using Project-Based Learning method while extrovert students got higher achievement if they were taught by using Problem Based Learning method. Keywords: Teaching methods, students personalities, descriptive writin

Synthesis and Characterization of Methyl Amino Polystyrene as Resin Material of Chromatography

    Get PDF
Ion-exchange chromatography has been widely used in various separation process and purification. Commercial ion-exchange resin mostly uses polystyrene as stationer phase. This study reviewed the synthesis of cation-exchange resin with polystyrene as starting material. Polystyrene must be activated in order to make one of aromatic carbon chains being able to be binding with acetamide n-hidroxymethyl electrophilic. Polystyrene activation was conducted through two stages, i.e. (1) the formation of amidomethyl polystyrene (AMDP), and followed with (2) elimination of acyl group. The activation of polystyrene generated white methylamino polystyrene (MAP) resin, of which its characterization used spectrophotometry UV, Fourier Transform-Infrared (FTIR), and density of MAP resin confirmed by pycnometer. The results showed that the characterization of FTIR and spectrophotometer UV for AMP exhibited forming amino propyl group at 3374.52 cm-1 with ?max 230 nm due to N–H bond; and the average of density of AMP resin sample was 1.7158 g/mL
