Primary Gastrointestinal Kaposi’s Sarcoma in a Patient with Human Immunodeficiency Virus
Gastrointestinal bleeding in HIV patients secondary to coinfection by HHV8 and development of Kaposi’s sarcoma (KS) is a rare complication even if no skin lesions are detected on physical examination. This article indicates which patients might develop this type of clinical sign and also tries to recall that absence of skin lesions never rules out the presence of KS, especially if gastrointestinal involvement is documented. Gastrointestinal bleeding in terms of hematemesis has rarely been reported in the literature. We review some important clinical findings, diagnosis, and treatment approach. We present the case of an HIV patient who presented to the emergency department with hematemesis and gastrointestinal signs of KS on upper gastrointestinal endoscopy without any dermatological involvement
Linfoma difuso de células B grandes en un paciente con fascitis necrotizante secundaria a implantes de biopolímeros de silicona en las nalgas
We describe the case of a 58-year-old woman who underwent buttock silicone biopolymer implant surgery. Five years following the surgery she consulted for gluteal region and thigh swelling, warm sensation, and pain. Physical examination revealed gluteal dermatosis also affecting the thighs bilaterally, exhibiting ulcers and skin necrosis. The patient received several surgical procedures including extraction of the permanent fillers and flap and skin graft reconstructions (Figure 1A). Ten months later, the patient consulted once again for a left thigh 14 × 11 × 4 cm mass associated with inguinal lymphadenopathy (Figure 1B)
SOPHIE: Spitzoid WSI dataset with clinical data
WSIs in .tif are grouped into three categories according to the histopathological diagnosis and each file is named according to the
following format: Spitz Nevus (SN_00XX), Spitzoid Melanoma (SM_00XX), and Spitzoid Tumor of Unknown Malignant
Potential (STUMP_00XX).
In the SM group, there are two cases with more than one WSI. SM_0015 ("SM_0015A" and "SM_0015B") are two images
of different regions of the same tumor. In SM_0016, "SM_0016A" is the primary tumor, while "SM_0016B" and "SM_0016C"
are the lymph node metastasis of the same patient.
Additionaly the is a excell file with the corresponding clinical data for each case
