This article addresses the concept and practice of liaison librarianship newly introduced in 2019 at the University Library of Freie Universität Berlin. Chances and challenges of library-faculty collaboration of two liaison librarians assigned to work with the Department of Earth Sciences and the Seminar of East Asian Studies, respectively, are discussed. The contribution seeks to give a stimulus for liaison librarianship in academic libraries and to connect to the well-established discourse on liaison librarianship in the Anglophone academic library world

Zielgruppe Senioren: Chancen und Perspektiven für die Tourismusbranche

Die vom Tourismus ausgehenden Beschäftigungseffekte werden häufig übersehen. Die vorliegende Arbeit gibt einen Überblick zur gegenwärtigen Situation des touristischen Arbeitsmarktes und seiner ökonomischen Bedeutung für Deutschland. Angesichts der demographischen Entwicklung in den kommenden Jahrzehnten wird sich diese Branche jedoch auf veränderte Anforderungsprofile einzustellen haben. Zum einen wird die Gruppe der Senioren für die Tourismusbranche von immer größerer Bedeutung werden und zum anderen lassen sich auch innerhalb dieser Kohorte Veränderungen im Reiseverhalten identifizieren, welche neue Angebotsstrukturen erfordern werden. Anhand von Projektionen sollen Entwicklungspfade sowie aktuelle Lösungsansätze im Seniorentourismus dargestellt werden.The employment effects of tourism are often overlooked. In this paper the current situation of the labor market in the field of tourism and its influence on the development of the German economy are described. The demographic development in the forthcoming decades requires this branch to adjust to new customer demands. Foremost, the seniors will become a more and more important factor in tourism. At the same time, the habits of travelling within this group will change and require businesses to develop offers which meet these new customer demands. By using prognostic data actual trends and practical approaches in senior tourism will be discussed
