Corporatism and Economic Performance
This paper models corporatism as affecting both the preferences of the parties involved as well as the rules of the game. The analysis is conducted in a union-government game on determining wages and unemployment benefits. The result indicates that international conditions might be important for the functions of the concept of corporatism. It may also serve as an explanation to the poor performance on production and employment in some of the former so successful European corporatist states in the 1990s. The implication of this is that corporatism might not be a successful social organisation in the globalised economy.Corporatism; Interest groups; Labour unions
Buoyancy and g-modes in young superfluid neutron stars
We consider the local dynamics of a realistic neutron star core, including
composition gradients, superfluidity and thermal effects. The main focus is on
the gravity g-modes, which are supported by composition stratification and
thermal gradients. We derive the equations that govern this problem in full
detail, paying particular attention to the input that needs to be provided
through the equation of state and distinguishing between normal and superfluid
regions. The analysis highlights a number of key issues that should be kept in
mind whenever equation of state data is compiled from nuclear physics for use
in neutron star calculations. We provide explicit results for a particular
stellar model and a specific nucleonic equation of state, making use of cooling
simulations to show how the local wave spectrum evolves as the star ages. Our
results show that the composition gradient is effectively dominated by the
muons whenever they are present. When the star cools below the superfluid
transition, the support for g-modes at lower densities (where there are no
muons) is entirely thermal. We confirm the recent suggestion that the g-modes
in this region may be unstable, but our results indicate that this instability
will be weak and would only be present for a brief period of the star's life.
Our analysis accounts for the presence of thermal excitations encoded in
entrainment between the entropy and the superfluid component. Finally, we
discuss the complete spectrum, including the normal sound waves and, in

Optimal minimum-cost quantum measurements for imperfect detection
Knowledge of optimal quantum measurements is important for a wide range of
situations, including quantum communication and quantum metrology. Quantum
measurements are usually optimised with an ideal experimental realisation in
mind. Real devices and detectors are, however, imperfect. This has to be taken
into account when optimising quantum measurements. In this paper, we derive the
optimal minimum-cost and minimum-error measurements for a general model of

Residue currents associated with weakly holomorphic functions
We construct Coleff-Herrera products and Bochner-Martinelli type residue
currents associated with a tuple of weakly holomorphic functions, and show
that these currents satisfy basic properties from the (strongly) holomorphic
case, as the transformation law, the Poincar\'e-Lelong formula and the
equivalence of the Coleff-Herrera product and the Bochner-Martinelli type

Gravitational-wave astronomy: the high-frequency window
This contribution is divided in two parts. The first part provides a
text-book level introduction to gravitational radiation. The key concepts
required for a discussion of gravitational-wave physics are introduced. In
particular, the quadrupole formula is applied to the anticipated
``bread-and-butter'' source for detectors like LIGO, GEO600, EGO and TAMA300:
inspiralling compact binaries. The second part provides a brief review of high
frequency gravitational waves. In the frequency range above (say) 100Hz,
gravitational collapse, rotational instabilities and oscillations of the
remnant compact objects are potentially important sources of gravitational
waves. Significant and unique information concerning the various stages of
collapse, the evolution of protoneutron stars and the details of the
supranuclear equation of state of such objects can be drawn from careful study
of the gravitational-wave signal. As the amount of exciting physics one may be
able to study via the detections of gravitational waves from these sources is
truly inspiring, there is strong motivation for the development of future
generations of ground based detectors sensitive in the range from hundreds of

Can Euroscepticism Contribute to a European Public Sphere? The Europeanization of Media Discourses about Euroscepticism across Six Countries
This study compares the media discourses about Euroscepticism in 2014 across
six countries (United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Spain, Sweden, and Denmark). We
assess the extent to which the mass media's reporting of Euroscepticism
indicates the Europeanization of public spheres. Using a mixed-methods approach
combining LDA topic modeling and qualitative coding, we find that approximately
70 per cent of print articles mentioning "Euroscepticism" or "Eurosceptic" are
framed in a non-domestic (i.e. European) context. In five of the six cases
studied, articles exhibiting a European context are strikingly similar in
content, with the British case as the exception. However, coverage of British
Euroscepticism drives Europeanization in other Member States. Bivariate
logistic regressions further reveal three macro-level structural variables that
significantly correlate with a Europeanized media discourse: newspaper type
(tabloid or broadsheet), presence of a strong Eurosceptic party, and
relationship to the EU budget (net contributor or receiver of EU funds).Comment: 29 pages, 2 figures, 4 tables, 2 appendice

Phase Relations in the Li2O-V2O3-V2O5 System at 700 C: Correlations with Magnetic Defect Concentration in Heavy Fermion LiV2O4
The phase relations in the Li2O-V2O3-V2O5 ternary system at 700 C for
compositions in equilibrium with LiV2O4 are reported. This study clarified the
synthesis conditions under which low and high magnetic defect concentrations
can be obtained within the spinel structure of LiV2O4. We confirmed that the
LiV2O4 phase can be obtained containing low (0.006 mol%) to high (0.83 mol%)
magnetic defect concentrations n{defect} and with consistently high magnetic
defect spin S values between 3 and 6.5. The high n{defect} values were obtained
in the LiV2O4 phase in equilibrium with V2O3, Li3VO4, or LiVO2 and the low
values in the LiV2O4 phase in equilibrium with V3O5. A model is suggested to
