    Demplot pendederan udang vaname (Litopenaeus vannamei) pada Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat program studi budidaya perikanan bertujuan  untuk deseminasi teknologi.  Melalui program tersebut diharapkan mampu meningkatkan angka kehidupan udang vaname  (SR) yang dipelihara pada tambak tradisional. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di Desa Wadak Kecamatan Duduk Kabupaten Gresik. Menurunnnya daya dukung lahan serta keseimbangan linkungan,  mengakibatkan nilai angka kehidupan benih udang yang ditebar nilainya sangat rendah.   Beberapa upaya telah dilakukan seperti penambahan input benih yang lebih banyak  dari biasanya, akan tetapi hasil hasil panen udang tidak mengalami peningkatan, justru sebaliknya semakin meningkatkan biaya operasional produksi,  akibatnya keuntungan yang didapatkan semakin sedikit. Teknologi bioflok merupakan teknologi yang dikembangkan dengan memadukan penanganan buangan limbah hasil budidaya dan mereduksi jumlah penggunaan air. Secara umum teknik ini memiliki  kelebihan seperti biaya operasional yang lebih kecil dan tingkat kelangsungan hidup yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil  demplot yang dilaksankan selama 4 minggu pada mitra  bintang muda didapatkan bahwa benih udang vaname tingkat Survival rate (SR) sebesar 70 %. Tingginya nilai tersebut diduga karena kesiapan pakan alami yang tersedia secara optimal. Diperkirakan panen udang lebih cepat dari biasanya. Biasanya udang vaname dapat panen pada umur 3- 4 bulan, namun  dengan menggunakan teknik bioflok pada kolam terpal yang pada proses penggelondongan dilakukan  selama 1 bulan, udang vaname dapat dipanen Pada umur 1.5 – 2.5 bulan

    The Vannami Shrimp, also known as The White Shrimp, is one of many shrimp species, which is one of the most famous fish pond commodities with huge consumers. Deket and Karangbinangun District in Lamongan is the two district in East Java Province, Indonesia, that have massive produce and contribution to this Commodity Production. This Research uses Descriptive Methods; Descriptive Methods Research can usually be defined as the depiction or analysis of analytic descriptive or analytic quantitative. This Research used a survey method where the pond farmers from  Deket District (n=48) and Karangbinangun District  (58).   The Average Age Farmers Data in Deket District is around 46 years old, while Karangbinangun District is approximately 53 years old. The Average Education Level Farmers Data in Deket District is about ten years old or in the Junior High School Level, while Karangbinangun is around seven years old. Also, in Deket District, about 37% are Full-Time Farmers while 63% are just Part-Time Farmers. The Width of Pond Data in Deket District is around 6158 Square Feet, while in Karangbinangun, around 4479,40 Square Feet. The result of this Research has been reserved, so the conclusion based on the statistic analysis using the T-Test and the Factors Correlation for Increasing Productivity has a significant impact in The T-Test on that Two District, The Significant Influencing Productivity Factor: “Age, Ponds Width, Community and Harvest Product” and The Factors that have a connection with Productivity including Respondent Factor (Age, Educational Level); Nature Factor (pond Width); and Input Factor (amount feed, fertilizer use)

    Lahan tadah hujan berpotensi digunakan sebagai areal peningkatan produksi padi. Provinsi Jawa Timur memiliki lahan tadah hujan seluas 240.273 ha. Khususnya di Kabupaten Gresik lahan sawah didominasi oleh lahan tadah hujan, dengan luasan mencapai 29.609 ha, lebih luas dari lahan irigasi yang hanya seluas 8.177 Ha (Badan Pusat Statistik Provinsi, 2014).Kendala utama pada lahan tadah hujan adalah produktivitas lahan yang jauh lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan lahan irigasi, Rata-rata hasil bobot gabah kering panen padi di lahan tadah hujan Kabupaten Gresik hanya mencapai 4 ton/ha,. Oleh sebab itu perlu penerapan inovasi pertanian guna meningkatkan produksi padi. Hasil penelitian Khumairoh (2012) menunjukkan bahwa model integrasi padi, bebek, ikan, kompos dan azolla dapat menngkatkan hasil padi mencapai 10,5 ton/ha gabah kering panen. Dalam penelitian Nafisah, Suhaili dan Agustina (2017) menunjukkan bahwa kenaikan rata-rata berat GKG dengan model budidaya integrasi padi-bebek mencapai 20%, dibanding dengan budidaya monokultur. Model pertanian terpadu mina padi plus dapat meningkatkan produktivitas lahan, melalui pengelolaam aneka ragam agro-ekosistem sawah. Dalam pengabdian ini diterapkan model pertanian integrasi padi, bebek, ikan, udang vaname, kompos dan azolla dengan pembanding model pertanian monokultur yang biasa diterapkan petani

    Milkfish is a commodity with a high production rate. From the milkfish commodity, Gresik is the center of fishery production in East Java. Milkfish belongs to the herbivore group with the type of food from the plant group. Milkfish cultivation in traditional ponds still uses natural food as the main food for the cultivated commodities. Fish food affects the structure of the digestive tract, especially the intestines of fish. herbivorous fish have very long intestines even many times the body length, compared to omnivorous and carnivorous fish. Thus, this study aims to find out more clearly about the structure of the milkfish gut tissue. The digestive tract is related to the process of digestion, absorption and disposal of food waste, so it has an important role in the growth of fish. The research method used was descriptive experimental by making preparations of fish intestinal tissue and staining with Hematoxylin Eosin. The intestines of the fish observed were the front, middle and back. Observation of the preparations using a microscope with a dot slide scan photo. From the results of the study obtained an overview of the intestinal tissue structure of the upper (proximal), middle (middle) and lower (distal) fish.     GREEN MUSSEL (Perna viridis) AND SILKWORM (Tubifex sp.) FEEDING TRIAL AS AN ALTERNATIVE FEED FOR CRAYFISH SEEDS (Cherax quadricarinatus)

    The high cost of shrimp or lobster feed is also a problem in the sustainability of aquaculture, even though freshwater crayfish, including eaters, require proper and relatively cheap feed selection. One source of feed that can be used as an alternative is green clams and silk worms. This study aims to determine which feed is better and more affordable for freshwater lobster seeds, so that the sustainability of cultivation can be well maintained in terms of economy, quality and quantity. The method used was descriptive comparing between the two feeds given a dose of each treatment, namely 10% of the lobster seed biomass, then analyzed using a 95% confidence level t-test.       The results showed a significant effect (P <0.05), on the absolute length growth and absolute weight of freshwater lobster seeds. The absolute length of the seeds given green shellfish feed is 0.94 ± 0.38 cm and silkworm feed is 0.66 ± 0.27 cm, for the absolute weight of green shellfish feed is 5.11 ± 0.38 gr and silk worm feed 2.68 ± 0.18 gr. The best results from the two feeding treatments for freshwater lobster seeds were using green shellfish feed with an absolute weight value of 5.11 ± 0.38 gr and the absolute length is 0.94 ± 0.38 cm. So that green shellfish feed can be used as a better alternative feed for the cultivation of freshwater lobster seed enlargement

    Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan inovasi warga desa Rayunggumuk, Kecamatan Glagah, Kabupaten Lamongan khususnya kelompok Bina Sejahtera dalam mengolah seluruh bagian ikan nila menjadi produk olahan yang bernilai ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan dan inovasi warga dilakukan melalui sosialisasi, transfer ilmu, demonstrasi langsung dan monitoring. Sedangkan metode pendekatan menggunakan pendekatan PRA (Partisipatory Rural Appraisal). Kegitan demonstrasi langsung dan bimbingan teknis meliputi 2 kegiatan inti yaitu pembuatan olahan abon ikan nila dan keripik kulit ikan nila dilanjutkan cara pemanfaatan limbah olahan ikan menjadi makanan ternak. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di kelompok Bina Sejahtera terbukti dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan, keterampilan dan inovasi warga desa khususnya kelompok mitra Bina Sejahtera dalam memanfaatkan melimpahnya hasil panen ikan nila dengan menjadikan olahan makanan berupa abon ikan nila dan keripik ikan nila dengan kemasan yang menarik serta memanfaatkan limbah hasil olahan ikan menjadi makanan ternak

    Feed is an important thing for fish cultivators, apart from the nutritional content of the feed it is also seen in terms of price and availability. When fish are cultivated, feed becomes a limiting factor for production. Likewise with fish maintenance, it requires the availability of feed that is suitable in terms of size, nutrition, and quantity. The purpose of this study was to determine the levels of protein, fat, and water content in the freshwater snails (Filopaludina javanica) in the waters of the Waung River. In this study, it was taken from the Waung river which is located in Glagah District, Lamongan Regency, because the river is filled with freshwater snails. This research has 2 stages, namely descriptive and experimental research with sampling at 3 points waung river station. Snail samples were taken in living conditions and brought to the Laboratory of the Department of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, UPT, quality testing and development of marine and fishery products in Surabaya for laboratory tests. The conclusion that can be drawn from this research is that the freshwater snails in the Waung River, Glagah District, have the highest protein at station 2 in the middle of the river at 16.20%. The highest fat content was also obtained at station 2 in the middle of the river at 3.39%, while the highest water content was obtained at station 3 at the downstream of the river at 78.99%

    UPAYA PENURUNAN LOGAM BERAT PB PADA KERANG HIJAU UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KEAMANAN PANGAN PRODAK UNGGULAN DI DESA BAYUURIP KECAMATAN UJUNG PANGKAH KABUPATEN GRESIK

    The existance of metal pollution detected in water and green mussel’s flesh in Bayuurip Village, Glagah Sub-District, Gresik Regency, had a big impact in production and food security in that region. According to 3 years data (2018-2020), the production of green mussels was decreased significantly. Harvest was usually reach to 5-7 tons/day, nevertheless, currently only 1.5-2 tons/day. The size of yields were smaller, the harvest was usually in <5 cm; in size >5-7 cm are very scarce. Besides, the size of green mussels influence its selling price. Although the Pb levels were still lower than threshold from the goverment, nevertheless, the issue of their existance was a major concern, especialy in the decrease of market demand and the increase of citizens awareness of food security. For this reason, through The Internal Community Service Program of UMG, was expected to provide the information to citizens that green mussels are still worth consuming and safety, especially with the use of depuration method; increase the local society awareness to maintain the hygiene, implement depuration technology to keep food product safe and securable. The external expectation of this program is to develop an independent local community, in social economy. This activity was scheduled in Bayuurip Village, Ujung Pangkah Sub-district, Gresik Regency, with several purposes: (1) Applied the depuration technology manipulation to reduce metal pollution in green mussels flesh; (2) Increase the economic value of featured product (green mussels) and its food safety; (3) Develop positive opinion that green mussels are safe to consume after depuration treatment
