    The background of this research is the education and development which show and develop about religious attitude as the bridge to internalize Islamic knowledge in the daily life. The character development is needed to every teacher for creating how Islamic education can be the base of life in daily activity.A boarding school with it's background and culture to be place which researcher try to know about their model of religious character for studen and implementation. This research is a qualitative field research by taking background of Muhamamdiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta. This research is a character education approach. Subject of this research such as Directors, teachers, students of Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta. The data collecting has done by conducting a sociological dan psychological approach.  Methods of thinking in the analysis of data research is inductive by collecting and combing special words into a unified information. The results show that the character building model used by Muhammadiyah Boarding School Yogyakarta is by using pesantren system and the teaching of Islamic sciences which directly regulate the dynamics of santri to have good religious character such as being kind people, polite, responsible, and diligent to worship

    The background of this research begins with the formation of religious character that is needed to fight the problems that destroy the humanitarian system on earth. Religious guidance is an overall coaching and requires the effort, patience, patience, space, time and extra costs to become a bridge within the state as the realization of the devoted perfect people to Allah SWT. The research was conducted at Muhamamdiyah Boarding School and Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ummah Yogyakarta to find 1) the concept of religious character building of students, 2) Implementation of religious character building of students, 3) Excellence and inadequacy in the developing religious character of students. This research is a qualitative comparative research, taking the background of Muhamamdiyah Boarding School and Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ummah Yogyakarta. The subjects of this study were Director, teacher, students of MBS and PPNU for girls Yogyakarta. While the object of his research is the Dynamics of Religious Stability in MBS and PPNU for girls Yogyakarta. Data collection is done by conducting observation, interview and documentation. This research uses sociological and psychological approach. Method of thinking in analysis of research data is inductive by collecting and combining special words into unity of information. The results of this research are: 1) The concept of fostering religious characters of students in Muhamamdiyah Boarding School is as follows: a) Development of cadres Muhamamdiyah, b) Development of intellectual scholars and religious intellectual, c) Development of cadre leaders of the nation, d) Development of Islamic scholarship center and e) Guidance of Character (character) with implementation, as follows: a) Development through boarding school based on pesantren, b) Development through integration of national curriculum and pesantren curriculum, c) Development through livelihood of sunnah worship, d) organize early, 2) The concept of religious character building of s students at Pondok Pesantren Nurul Ummah for girls is as follows: a) the guidance print generation of science in the realm of four madhhab as followers of muslim scholars, b) Guidance of the most important for students with implementation, as follows: a) Development using boarding school, b) Development using Madrasah Diniyah Nurul Ummah for girls, 3) The equality of both institutions is that both have excellent programs in the development of religious characters of students, such as in MBS : a) Qur'an memorizing program, b) Sunnah worship, c) Speech presentation practice, d) Book Review of Riyad As Shalihin, e) Student Charity Program (ABBAS), and in PPNU for girls are as follows: a) Study of kitab kuning, b) Al Qur'an memorizing, c) Qur'an recitation. The differences are in: a) There is no speech presentation practice in PPNU, b) Sunnah worship development not found in PPNU, c) Community activities not included in PPNU, and 4) Study of kitab kuning not found on MBS, 4) Shortage from the implementation of these two institutions are as follows: a) in MBS or PPNU has deficiencies in managerial technical executor of activities in pesantren and b) lack of facilities and infrastructure in PPNU for girls
