    East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is one of the provincial livestock producer and breeder sector has also become one of the sectors that support the communities in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. In support of the program of cattle to be free of the disease, efforts to improve the beef cattle population is affected by several factors such as enclosure management and disease prevention. Diseases that can reduce productivity in cattle caused by bacteria, viruses, endoparasites and ectoparasites. One of the ectoparasites that act as vectors of disease that often occurs in cattle are flies. This study aims to look at the Variety type and abundance Flies On Cattle in Kupang located in two studies namely Cattle Farmers Group Noetnana, Village Fatukoa, District Maulafa, Kupang (farm I) and Cage Cattle SMK PP Kupang State (farm II). Fly collection is done by using two methods: the method of sweeping and manual methods.Flies sample processing is done by piercing flies (pinning) using pinning needles on one side of the thorax slightly to the right of the center line.The diversity of types of flies analyzed using the formula of relative abundance. The diversity of types of flies obtained during the research was Haematobia sp. Hippobosca sp. Stomoxys calcitrans, Musca domestica, and Tabanus sp. Factors that contributed to support the amount of diversity of types of flies are carrying appropriate for the survival of various types of flies in these locations such as temperature, humidity, food and breeding grounds.     Pigs have a very important role for the community that is as a source of animal protein, a source of income, savings and jobs. Pigs are susceptible to various diseases, including diseases that are caused by a parasite of Nematodes class, namely Ascaris suum. The purpose of this study was to determine the degree of real infections by parasitic load value, to determine the degree of infection alleged by TTGT value and to determine the fecundity of Ascaris suum in pigs Landrace in Kupang. The sample was 20 adult male Landrace pigs (finisher) were infected with Ascaris suum. The results showed a positive sample of 20 infected worm Ascaris suum by average number of male worm as much as 3 and the average number of female worm as much as 7 as well as the presence of the worm eggs in the stool with the average amount of 4,645 worm eggs as much by using the method of Mc Master. The results of counting the number of eggs per gram of feces (TTGT) showed 19 samples have TTGT number of> 2000 were categorized as heavy infestations, while one sample has a number TTGT <2000 were categorized as moderate infestation.. The results of the calculation of worm Ascaris suum fecundity showed the highest and lowest values of fecundity, that is each 962,666.66 eggs/adult female worm/day and 180.819 eggs/adults female worm/day..     Brown tick, Rhicephalus sanguineus generally known as a very adaptive tick, is widely spread on tropical, subtropical, and temperate regions, and infested dogs living on not only rural but urban areas. Synthetic acaricides are the most widely control measures. However, with the development of tick resistance, plant-derived components are highly investigated. The present study aims to investigate the activity of Crecentia cujete Linn. leaves extract on R. sanguineus. Fifty adult R. sanguineus were collected from local dogs and used in this study. Ticks are divided into the control and treatment groups. Aquadest and deltamethrin were sprayed to ticks in the negative and positive control groups, respectively. The three treatment groups were given maja leaves extract of 2.5%, 5%, and 10%. The tick mortality was observed for 12 hours of exposure to the extracts. All extracts exhibited similar lethal effects on R. sanguineus with total mortality (100%) after 4 hours exposure, compared to the standard therapy. The highest extract concentration (10%) reduces ticks faster compare to other concentrations. Thus, this study suggests that strong acaricidal activity and mortality rate was dose-dependent.     The DHF vectors from Kelapa Lima District are resistant to Permethrin and Cypermethrin insecticides, so it has been classified as having a high resistance level. This community service was carried out to determine the level of knowledge of the people of Rt/Rw: 27/12, Kelapa Lima Village, Kupang City about Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever and the alternative prevention techniques. The methods used in this event include counseling, training, and surveys using questionnaires in the form of Pre-test and Post-test during the event. Post-test results show that 100 percent of the participants can increase their knowledge and have understood properly and correctly about dengue hemorrhagic fever and its alternative prevention techniques

    Filariasis adalah penyakit menular yang disebabkan oleh cacing filaria yang menyerang saluran dan kelen­jar getah bening yang ditularkan oleh berba­gai jenis nyamuk. Kasus filariasis di Kabupaten Sikka tahun 2015-2017 setiap tahunnya meningkat. Pengendalian vektor nyamuk secara kimia dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan insektisida. Insektisida yang digunakan secara terus-menerus dapat menyebabkan nyamuk menjadi resisten. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui status resistensi vektor filariasis terhadap insektisida bendiocarb 0,1% di Kabupaten Sikka tahun 2018. Penelitian ini diawali dengan survei lokasi dan pengambilan sampel di Kabupaten Sikka. Pemeliharaan nyamuk dan uji resistensi dilakukan di laboratorium FKH Undana. Bahan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah nyamuk Aedes sp. dan Anopheles sp., impregnated paper bendiocarb 0,1.  Hasil uji resistensi menggunakan metode susceptibility test dengan impregnated paper bendiocarb 0,1% yaitu kematian nyamuk uji terhadap insektisida bendiocarb sebesar 33,3% sehingga tergolong dalam kategori resistensi tinggi

    Filariasis is a chronic infectious disease caused by the filarial worms of the class of nematodes that is transmitted through mosquito bites. In its development, there are more than 23 species of filariasis vector consisting of the genus Anopheles. Culex sp. Aedes sp. Mansonia sp. and Armigeres sp. losses caused by filariasis is caused permanent disability beupa enlargement of legs, arms, genitals and breasts. This study aims to determine the type and origin of the district filariasis vector morphology of Malaka. Methodon This research includes the collection of samples carried out in Malaka Tengah sub-district and District Weliman, followed by maintenance of mosquito larvae into adults as well as identification of the type and morphology of mosquitoes by identifying key WRBU and the Department of Health (2008b), The results showed that the type of filariasis vector origin of Malacca District consists of two species of the Anopheles sp.and Culex sp. Anopheles sp. Have proboscis same morphological features with palpi long, scaly wing venation, slender abdomen, the head of the body there are antennas and the color of chocolate, and Culex sp. have morphological features blackish brown body, blunt abdominal tip, palpi shorter than the proboscis and dark wings with long narrow scales

    UJI RESISTENSI NYAMUK Culex sp. TERHADAP INSEKTISIDA GOLONGAN PIRETROID (permethrin 0,25 %) DI KOTA KUPANG

    The aim of this study is to investigate the resistance status of Culex sp. as a zoonotic disease vector to pirettroid insecticide (permethrin 0,25 %) in Kupang City. The location  study was conducted in Kelapa Lima and Oebobo region. The larva was randomly colected from civilians houses to than taken to laboratory to be identified and breeded. Adult mosquitos than once again identified to ensure the collected sample is indeed Culex sp. The resistance test was caried out using impregnated papers as standarized by WHO. Samples was devided into 2 group, controled and treated, 25 mosquitos each. Every region was tested with 3 repetitions. The data was collected by counting koncked down mosquitos in 1 hour time every 15 minutes and dead count after 24 hours. The result shows the resistance status of Culex sp. in Kelapa Lima is 7,06% and 12,69% in Oebobo. This shows that mosquitos in those regions is highly resistance to permethrin 0,25%
