This research presents an empirical investigation to study the relationship between communication models and crisis management in city of Tehran municipal firefighting department. The study develops a questionnaire with 21 questions, distributes it among 400 people who worked for firefighting department associated with municipality of Tehran, Iran. Crobnach alphas for all components of the survey were well above the minimum acceptable level of 0.7. Kolmogorov–Smirnov test has indicated that all components of the survey were normally distributed. Using a t-student test, the study determined that there were meaningful relationships between communication models and crisis management (sig: 0.000), between vertical model and crisis management (sig: 0.000), between ring model and crisis management (sig: 0.000), between star model and crisis management (sig: 0.000) and between Y model and crisis management (sig: 0.000) in Tehran municipal fire department

The purpose of the present research is to explore the effect of management of the pure profit and the commitment items profit on investment choices in Tehran stock broking. A model based on optional commitment items of Jones is used in the measurement of profit managing. The revenue of assets is also applied as an index of firm operation. Moreover, the effect of some variables of firms such as measure of accountant, independency of board of directors, institutional ownership and measure of firm on the relationship between profit managing and revenue of assets is evaluated. The function of analysis of mixed data by using a pattern including 100 firms in Tehran stockbroking from 2009 to 2012 was used. The research results showed that there is a meaningful negative relationship between optional commitment items and revenues of assets. Concerning several other tested variables, dependency of board of directors and the institutional ownership have a meaningful positive effect on relationship between profit management and revenue of assets, and measure of firm has a meaningful negative effect on the relationship

Introduction: Marital satisfaction affected mental and physical health, life satisfaction, career success, and social communications, and is one the most important indices of life satisfaction. Among all the factors relating to the marriage, the marital adjustment has a special place in the study of marriage and family relationships. Identity development is conceptualized as a process beginning in adolescence and peaking in the early adulthood period during which one explores and commits to possibilities in interpersonal relationship. During this time, young adults are determining the importance of parental, marital, and career life roles. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between identity styles with marital satisfaction and identification of predicting factors on marital satisfaction centers of city councils of Tehran, Iran. Methods: This was a correlational cross-sectional study. The population includes all couples referring to city councils in the 10th and 11th zones. Participants' duration of marriage was between 1 and 10 years. In this study, a total of 200 couples were selected using convenience cluster sampling, and the questionnaires were given and distributed to them in health homes, cultural centers of Tehran municipal. Tools of study were Enrich marital satisfaction questionnaire and Identity Style questionnaire. Questionnaires were collected and data were entered in SPSS software ver. 18 and analyzed. Descriptive tests, Pearson correlation test, and Multivariate Regression Test were used for description and analysis of data. Results: The mean age of samples in this study was 31.60 years old with standard deviation of 5.12 years (Ranged between 20- 44 years). Demographic data had normal distribution (P<0.05). One-way ANOVA analysis showed that there was significant relationship between the age of men and marital satisfaction (P= 0.01). Univariate Linear Model showed that there was no significant correlation between literacy (P=0.908) and occupation (P=0.629) with marital satisfaction. There was a significant relationship between marital satisfaction with normative and commitment styles (P<0.05) but there was no significant relation between this and informative and diffuse/avoidant styles (P>0.05). Linear regression analysis showed that only commitment style of identity can predict the marital satisfaction significantly

The performance of the speed controlled induction machine principally depends on the accuracy of the estimated flux. The proposed method compensates the error produced by the inherent problem in the “pure” integrator and measurement error. This paper describes the problem associated with a quasi-ideal digital integrator in particularly a modern DDA-type (Digital Differential Analyzer) – an incremental digital integrator (IDI). The paper essentially discusses the development of the approach to the total error correction of DDA-type IDI. It is an element for processing incremental digital input-output signals using DDA principles. The basic types of errors of the incremental digital integrator are presented and then the reasons for their appearance are examined. The differential equation dY=aYdx as an example the quantitative relation of errors is investigated. The IDI error from the analytical solution is not exceeding one increment (quant) of sub-integral function Y even during a very long interval of integration variable x. This means that the IDI becomes a practically ideal integrator. The suggested methods of correcting IDI errors can be applied in simulation, modeling, especially for dynamic systems control, etc. This method is easily applied in a DSP based induction machine control to estimate the flux. The performance of the speed controlled induction machine principally depends on the accuracy of the estimated flux. Heavy metal accumulation in Artemisia and foliaceous lichen species from the Azerbaijan flora

    Get PDF
Artemisia plants and foliaceous lichens are known to be capable of accumulating heavy metals (HM) from soil and air. These plant species are widespread on polluted sites of Azerbaijan. However, so far their capacity to accumulate HM in their shoots and roots has not been tested. Three Artemisia and two lichen species were collected from different contaminated sites of Azerbaijan. Plant and surface soil samples were measured for Cd, Cu, Pb, Ni and Zn concentrations by ICP-AES.The results indicated that among the Artemisia species A. scoparia showed the best HM accumulation properties. Lichen species were also distinguished by very high amounts of HM in their biomass, while in surrounding soil samples HM concentrations had higher contents than the soils occupied only with Artemisia species. The results indicate that on contaminated sites Artemisia and lichens accumulated metals in their biomass without toxicity symptoms. Taking large biomass and high adaptation ability into account, A. scoparia represents a good tool for a phytoremediation approach on polluted soils

The Relationship between Internal Forms of Engagement (Cognitive-Affective) and Academic Success across Years of Study

Literature has already confirmed that student engagement as an external or multidimensional construct may contribute to the academic success of college students. However, very few studies have tried to examine the contributions the more "internal forms of engagement" (cognitive and affective) might make in this regard, and how the engagement patterns may change over the academic years. To fill the gap, this study was carried out to answer two research questions: (1) what is the relationship between the internal forms of engagement (cognitive-affective) and students’ academic success (represented by Grade Point Average--GPA)? ; (2) How does the pattern of the relationship change across years of study? To do so, a 40-item Cognitive-Affective Engagement Questionnaire (CAEQ) was developed, validated (α=.91), and administered to a sample of 312 undergraduate English major students (222 females and 90 males). The results indicated while cognitive engagement and academic success are positively correlated throughout years of study, the relationship reaches its peak for the affective engagement in the second year and then gradually diminishes. The findings have implications for curriculum and materials developers, as well as the English language teachers who seek programs which can consistently challenge and satisfy students throughout their studies
