Caractérisation physicochimiques du sol dans les deux cas de conduite : pluvial et irrigué

    Get PDF

Does ICT diffusion matter for corruption? An Economic Development Perspective

    No full text
This study assess the impact of ICT diffusion on corruption by using instrumental variables method on a panel data set of 175 countries over the period 1996-2014. We check for the stability of the ICT-corruption nexus for different levels of economic development. Our results show that ICT diffusion clearly acts as an effective tool to control corruption. The study also reports that as the countries develop economically they improve their corruption level. Moreover, as per the per capita GDP, estimation outcomes suggest that both trade openness and better institutions are associated with lower corruption levels. However, results show robust support to suggest that as the general price level increases, bribery increases. This effect is more pronounced for the developing countries than for developed ones, which may witness higher inflation rates and therefore a higher cost of living. Drawn on our results, our study addresses important insights and policy implications mainly for developing countries. 2017 Elsevier LtdScopu

Deep learning and cultural heritage: The CEPROQHA project case study

    No full text
Cultural heritage takes an important part of the history of humankind as it is one of the most powerful tools for the transfer and preservation of moral identity. As a result, these cultural assets are considered highly valuable and sometimes priceless. Digital technologies provided multiple tools that address challenges related to the promotion and information access in the cultural context. However, the large data collections of cultural information have more potential to add value and address current challenges in this context with the recent progress in artificial intelligence (AI) with deep learning and data mining tools. Through the present paper, we investigate several approaches that are used or can potentially be used to promote, curate, preserve and value cultural heritage through new and evolutionary techniques based on deep learning tools. The deep learning approaches entirely developed by our team are intended to classify and annotate cultural data, complete missing data, or map existing data schemes and information to standardized schemes with language processing tools. 2019 IEEE.ACKNOWLEDGMENT This publication was made possible by NPRP grant 9-181-1-036 from the Qatar National Research Fund (a member of Qatar Foundation). Synthesis of nanocrystalline NiAl by mechanically activated self-propagating high-temperature synthesis and mechanically activated annealing process

    No full text
The mechanically activated self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (MASHS) technique and the mechanically activated annealing process (M2AP) were used to produce NiAl intermetallic compound. Rietveld analysis of X-ray diffraction data was used to characterize the mechanically activated powders, MASHS and M2AP end-products. Two-phase (B2+L12) nickel aluminide intermetallic compounds were synthesized by the mechanically activated volume combustion synthesis (MASHS). A single phase B2 NiAl was formed when mechanically activated annealing process (M2AP) was performed. Starting from a mixture of elemental pure powders, both M2AP and MASHS milling processes lead to nanostructured powders. Structural analysis deduced from the Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction patterns of NiAl compounds synthesized by SHS after a milling of 6 h show the formation of β-NiAl phase with a cell parameter a = (0.2885 ± 1.2618 × 10−4) nm. The average crystallite size is D = (44.6421 ± 2.4263) nm and the microstrains values are close to those of metallic alloys τ = (0.2142 ± 1.6186 × 10−2)%. Finally, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was carried out to characterize the microstructure of end-products

Prophylactic and curative effect of rosemary leaves extract in a bleomycin model of pulmonary fibrosis

CONTEXT: Pulmonary fibrosis is a devastating disease without effective treatment. Rosemary is appreciated since ancient times for its medicinal properties, while biomolecules originated from the plant have an antioxidant and antifibrotic effect.SCOPUS: ar.jinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishe
