Relaxation of superflow in a network: an application to the dislocation model of supersolidity of helium crystals

We have considered the dislocation network model for the supersolid state in He-4 crystals. In difference with uniform 2D and 3D systems, the temperature of superfluid transition T_c in the network is much smaller than the degeneracy temperature T_d. It is shown that a crossover into a quasi superfluid state occurs in the temperature interval between T_c and T_d. Below the crossover temperature the time of decay of the flow increases exponentially under decrease of the temperature. The crossover has a continuous character and the crossover temperature does not depend on the density of dislocations.Comment: Corrected typo

New ideas about the pathogenesis of osteoarthritis, the role of metabolic disorders

The article highlights the current data on the prevalence and pathogenesis of osteoarthritis (OA), presents a new definition of the disease, research results on the heterogeneity of OA, its relationship with obesity and metabolic syndrome. Obesity is one of the main factors in the development and more rapid progression of OA, and the presence of metabolic syndrome not only increases the risk of developing the disease, but also determines its severity. It is noted that with an increase of the components of the metabolic syndrome, the severity of OA increases. Therefore, hyperuricemia is associated with the presence of osteophytes and the progression of osteoarthritis, hyperglycemia - with the severity of the clinical manifestations and radiological progression. Much attention is given to the treatment of patients with OA and The European Society for Clinical and Economic Aspects of Osteoporosis, Osteoarthritis and Musculoskeletal Diseases (ESCEO) recommendations for the treatment of knee joints OA updated in 2019. In which for the first time a symptomatic slow-acting drugs for osteoarthritis (SYSADOAs) are assigned as the basis in the treatment of OA. The data on the effectiveness of some drugs from this group are presented. The glycosaminoglycan-peptide complex, which contains pharmacologically high-quality chondroitin sulfate when administered intramuscularly, has a significant effect on the symptoms, and in case of continued use, slows the progression of OA. The multicenter open-label prospective study of diacerein in patients with knee-joint OA combined with metabolic syndrome showed that during therapy pain syndrome and stiffness are reduced, and functional condition of the joints and quality of life of patients improves quickly and significantly. In addition, the positive effect of the drug on some components of the metabolic syndrome was demonstrated: a significant decrease in body mass index, low density lipoproteins, triglycerides, glucose and uric acid

Intermittent intravenous ibandronate therapy for osteoporosis

The author consecutively considers the introduction of intermittent use of ibandronate (I), by determining its single dose and annual cumulative dose. She presents data on the adequate antiresorptive activity of intermittent treatment, shows it necessary to design an intravenous dosage form of the drug and gives detailed data on the efficacy of parenteral I. The fact that the agent may be used in secondary (steroidal) osteoporosis is provided. There is evidence that the risk of extravertebral and all clinical fractures reduces when I is intravenously injected in a dose of 3 mg quarterly and orally administered in a dose of 150 mg monthly

The actual view of Russian and German students on innovations, economic growth and welfare

© Medwell Journals, 2016.The relevance of the investigated problem lies in the increasing role of innovation as a factor of welfare growth and sustainability of socio-economic development in each country. The purpose of the study is to describe the current state of significant economic and social concepts in the associative respect. The leading method used in the study of this problem was an associative experiment in order to reveal free associations to the concepts of "innovation", "growth" and "welfare"of Russian and German students. This article introduces and discusses the results of the conducted cross-cultural associative experiment. The "innovation", "economic growth" and "welfare" concepts have a wide range of associations given by the respondents. Within the associative field there are core associations, typical for 22.5-56.5% of the respondents and the side associations (from 64-70 of lexical units). The study makes a contribution to studying language and mental representations of economic and social concepts and can be useful for teaching sociology, cultural science and concept studies
