Peran Perceived Quality Memediasi Perceived Price terhadap Perceived Value Pengguna Jasa Layanan Rumah Kos Jimbaran

Consumer's perceived value differs among individuals. As marketers, consumer perceived value must be understood as it represents consumer behavior before purchase, during purchase and after purchase. This research was conducted to examine the relationship among consumers' perceived price, perceived quality and perceived value of boarding houses in Jimbaran. Purposive sampling method was used to collect data with a total sample of 100 respondents and path analysis was used to analyse the data. The result of this study shows that perceived price has a positive and significant effect on perceived quality but insignificant effect on perceived value, while perceived quality has a positive and significant effect on perceived value and it also significantly mediates the relationship between perceived price and perceived value. This indicates that providers of boarding houses in Jimbaran should set their prices that reflects the quality of their rooms and services

Ikan sapu-sapu (Loricariidae) melimpah di Sungai Ciliwung dan dimanfaatkan sebagai salah satu sumber protein he-wani. Kondisi perairan Sungai Ciliwung ditengarai tercemar logam berat dan jika mengkonsumi ikan sapu-sapu dari sungai ini akan beresiko bagi kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis konsentrasi logam berat (Cd, Hg, dan Pb) pada beberapa organ ikan sapu-sapu dari Sungai Ciliwung. Sampel ikan dan air sungai diambil pada musim peng-hujan dan kemarau di tiga lokasi sepanjang Sungai Ciliwung, yaitu Bogor (hulu), Depok (tengah), dan Jakarta (hilir). Konsentrasi logam berat diukur menggunakan spektrofotometer serapan atom (SSA), dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA dan dilanjutkan dengan uji Tuckey dengan bantuan program R.i7386 3.0.0. Rata-rata konsentrasi Cd pada in-sang, hati, dan otot ikan berturut-turut 0,000146 ^g.g'1; 0,000828 ^g.g'1; 0,000075 ^g.g'1. Rata-rata konsentrasi Hg pada insang, hati, dan otot ikan berturut-turut 0,002826 ^g.g'1; 0,004333 ^g.g'1; 0,003960 ^g.g'1. Rata-rata konsentrasi Pb pada insang, hati, dan otot ikan berturut-turut 0,002571 ^g.g'1; 0,005467 ^g.g'1; 0,001609 ^g.g'1. Konsentrasi ketiga logam berat pada organ ikan maupun air sungai berada di bawah nilai ambang batas menurut Standar Nasional Indonesia, FAO, maupun Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia. Uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa konsentrasi logam berat pada organ tubuh ikan berdasarkan lokasi dan musim tidak berbeda nyata, namun konsentrasi logam berat antar organ target dan jenis logam berbeda nyata. Perlu kehati-hatian dalam mengkonsumsi ikan sapu-sapu dari Sungai Ciliwung karena beberapa logam berat telah terdeteksi pada organ ikan tersebut

Dewasa ini persaingan semakin ketat, Perusahaan dituntut untuk memahami perilaku konsumen dan menawarkan produk dengan harga yang terjangkau dan brand image yang baik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh harga terhadap brand image, pengaruh harga dan brand image terhadap niat pembelian, serta peran brand image dalam memediasi pengaruh harga terhadap niat pembelian pada produk iPhone di Denpasar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah konsumen yang berniat untuk menggunakan produk iPhone. Metode penentuan sampel yang digunakan dalam studi ini adalah nonprobability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling yaitu teknik penentuan sampel dengan pertimbangan tertentu. Sampel yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 110 responden. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa harga berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap brand image iPhone, harga dan brand image berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap niat pembelian konsumen pada produk iPhone, serta brand image mampu memediasi pengaruh harga terhadap niat pembelian produk iPhone di Denpasar

Immunization in Alzheimer’s disease: Naïve hope or realistic clinical potential?

There has been considerable recent interest in vaccination of patients by immunotherapy as a potentially clinically useful methodology for combating histopathological changes in Alzheimer\u27s disease (AD). The focus of the majority of this research has been on (1) active immunotherapy using the pre-aggregated synthetic β-amyloid (Aβ) 42 preparation AN1792 vaccine (QS-21), or (2) passive immunization using injections of already prepared polyclonal anti-Aβ antibodies (intravenous immunoglobulin). These two clinical approaches to the treatment of patients with AD represent the focus of this review. We conclude here that, with certain caveats, immunization offers further potential as a technique for the treatment (and possible prevention) of AD. New studies are seeking to develop and apply safer vaccines that do not result in toxicity and neuroinflammation. Nevertheless, caution is warranted, and future clinical investigations are required to tackle key outstanding issues. These include the need to demonstrate efficacy in humans as well as animal models (especially with respect to the potentially toxic side effects of immunotherapy), and fine-tuning in safely guiding the immune response. The issue of defining necessary and sufficient criteria for determining clinical efficacy remains an additional important issue for future immunization trials. The vaccination methodology appears to offer substantial current promise for clearing both soluble and aggregated amyloid in AD. However, it remains to be determined whether this approach will help to repair already damaged neural systems in the disease, and the extent to which vaccination-driven amyloid clearance will impact beneficially on patients\u27 neurocognitive capacity and their functional status. The outcomes of future studies will be important both clinically and scientifically: an important further test of the validity of the amyloid hypothesis of AD is to evaluate the impact of an effective anti-amyloid strategy on the functional status of patients with this disease
