Application of Periodogram-Based Cointegration Test for the Analysis of the Services and Goods Sector Inflations

The differing dynamics of the inflations of the services and goods sectors has been of major concern in Turkey. The persistence of the services sector inflation during disinflation periods hampered the efforts of the Central Bank of Turkey of hitting inflation targets in a country with long-lasting high inflation experience. In search of a possible long-run relationship between the services and goods sectors’ inflations, this paper employs a method based on periodograms of the series in addition to time series tools. A periodogram-based test has pros over conventional tests; this test is model-free, seasonally robust and mean invariant. Empirical findings obtained from the methods employed in this study, Engle-Granger’s and Johansen’s conventional long-run time series tools as well as periodogram based test, suggest that services and goods sector inflations in Turkey are not cointegrated.Cointegration, Periodogram, Time-Series Analysis, Inflation, Services Sector

An empirical analysis of Istanbul stock exchange sub-indexes

    Get PDF
This paper analyzes possible cointegration relations among the sub-indexes of the Istanbul Stock Exchange series - services sector, industry sector and financial sector - for the period from February 1, 1997 to September 24, 2003. The data is analyzed by using various methods initiated by Engle and Granger (1987), Johansen (1988) and Akdi (1995). The basic finding of this study is that none of these methods suggest the presence of cointegrating relationships among these indexes

As time progresses and more non-volatile RAM memories appear, that is, those memories that even if they lose the flow of electricity do not lose the data recorded in them, contrary to what happens in volatile memories, it will be posible to analyze the data recorded in them, including those prívate data such as passwords or bank details. The aim of the project is to provide the RISC-V processor with the appropiate mechanisms so that the memory data is encrypted, making such annalysis imposible. To do this, we will handle encryption through randomly generated key-mediated logs. For this Project, we have had to acquire some previous knowledge, such as understanding the internal architecture of RISC-V, see its components and how they communicate and understand the management that does of the internal memory with its signals.Depto. de Arquitectura de Computadores y AutomáticaFac. de InformáticaTRUEunpu

Isolation, Characterization and Antitumour Propirties of the 1,2-Popylenediaminetetraacetate trans-Diaqua-Copper (II)

    Get PDF
A trans-diaquacomplex formed by copper(II) sulphate and the sequestering polyamminopolycarboxylic ligand 1,2-propylenediaminetetraacetic acid (PDTA) has been isolated and characterized by chemical analysis, titrimetry, FT-IR and electronic spectroscopy, Potentiometric and electronic measurements identified the ligand as tetradentate, two nitrogen and two oxygen atoms being bonded to the Cu(II) in planar positions. This octahedral monomeric soluble compound, is an unusual example of a copper (II) substance showing significant in vitro antitumour activity against the human ovarian tumour cells TG (ID50 = 2.29 μM at 48 h) and important in vivo antitumour activity against solid Sarcoma 180 with complete regression of the tumour at a dose of 12.5 mg/Kg body weight

Electricity Development and Opportunities to Reduce Carbon Dioxide Emissions in Morocco

    Get PDF
Morocco, as many other countries in North Africa, is becoming vulnerable to climate change consequences. Its sulfur dioxide (SO2) and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are relatively high due to the electricity production, this sector is still heavily relying on coal. Morocco is also an emerging country, aiming to raise its economic development indicators and pursue a sustainable energy approach, facing additional challenges with industrial development and many coal infrastructures already in place. For the country, renewable energy is considered the most efficient pathway to decarbonize the electricity sector and reduce CO2 emissions. The main goal is to meet the growing need for electricity while preserving the environment. This study investigates the electricity sector in Morocco and its production sources, it highlights the limitations of the current model and gives an opportunity analysis to meet the carbon neutrality target. This study also provides some development axes and recommendations to accelerate and support the new energy vision. In south-western Spain, Macrophomina phaseolina and Fusarium solani were found to be associated in strawberry plants with, respectively, charcoal rot, and crown and root rot symptoms. For management of both fungal diseases, the antagonistic effects of two commercial formulations, one based on Trichoderma asperellum T18 strain (Prodigy®) and the other on Bacillus megaterium and B. laterosporus (Fusbact®), were evaluated in vitro and under controlled environment and field conditions. Two inoculation methods (root-dipping and soil application) and two application times (pre- and post-pathogen inoculation, as preventive and curative treatments, respectively) were assessed. Dual plate confrontation experiments demonstrated the antagonistic effects of T. asperellum and Bacillus spp. by inhibiting radial growth of M. phaseolina and F. solani by more than 36%. Preventive application of T. asperellum by root-dipping reduced the incidence of charcoal rot (up to 44% in a growth chamber and up to 65% under field conditions) and also reduced disease progression, the percentage of crown necrosis, as well as the level of infection measured as ng of pathogen DNA g-1 plant by quantitative real-time PCR. This treatment was also the most effective for reduction of crown and root rot caused by F. solani (up to 100% in a greenhouse and up to 81% under field conditions). These results were nearly comparable with the control achieved using chemical fungicides. The Bacillus spp.-based formulation was also effective for control of charcoal rot and showed variable results for control of F. solani, depending on the growth conditions
