April 1977.Covers not scanned.Includes bibliographical references.A. Growth Differences Between Genetically Parthenocarpic Seeded (Pollinated) and Seedless (Not Pollinated) Fruits. Fruit growth in all cases was sigmoidal. The rate and duration of growth were essentially the same in both varieties and whether or not pollinated. Genetically parthenocarpic cultivars produced less fresh fruit weight when pollinated than when not pollinated, but the t-test showed the differences to be non-significant. B. Growth Differences Between Genetically Short- and Long-Fruited Lines and Varieties. Growth in all types was again sigmoidal. The long- and short-fruited types grew at essentially the same rate but for different durations. Overall correlation between ovary length at blooming and mature fruit length for long, medium and short-fruited cucumber was 0.97. This suggests that long-fruit ed types will have longer ovaries. No cell division occurred in ovaries after pollination. This suggests that cell division ceases at or shortly after anthesis and the subsequent fruit growth is due to cell enlargement rather than cell number. The analysis of variance for cell size and cell number in mature fruits of long-, medium- and short-fruited varieties showed highly significant differences between varieties between regions and their interaction. An inverse relationship existed between cell volume and cell number; cell volume increased toward the inner part of the fruit in all types. Differences in fruit size are usually due to differences in both cell number and cell size

Objective: To study the effect of music on pain perception in women scheduled for elective cesarean section (CS) Search Strategy: We used the following keywords (“music” or “music therapy” and any of the following: cesarean section OR cesarean delivery OR CS OR cesarean OR Caesarean OR "post-op*) Selection Criteria: We included all studies satisfying the following criteria: (1) Population: pregnant women scheduled for cesarean section. (2) Intervention: the addition of any type of music to routine care compared with routine care alone. (3) Study design: randomized controlled trials (RCTs). We excluded the following: (1) non-randomized trials, (2) in vitro and animal studies, (3) studies in languages other than English, and (4) studies whose data were unreliable for extraction and analysis. Data Collection and Analysis: Data extraction was independently performed using a standardized form. In case of discrepancies, a consensus was reached after the involvement of the senior investigator. Then, data were extracted from assessed articles and entered RevMan software for meta-analysis. Main Results: Pooled data significantly favored the music group over the non-music one in terms of pain and anxiety scores (p<0.001). Heart rate, systolic and diastolic blood pressure did not differ significantly between both groups. Conclusion: Music can be used during, before, and after cesarean section to reduce associated pain and anxiety

The purpose of this paper is to review the implementation of strategic planning and the need to plan, develop, implement and evaluate the organization placed on the research. Moreover, it tries to investigate how managers in organizations need to be equipped with strategic planning. They also need to know how to develop and schedule the strategic planning to run properly. Having a type of so-called strategic thinking which consists of deep thinking beyond the macro, the macro, and the micro is a necessary requirement for strategic planning. This way of thinking is a dynamic, changing and changeable in planning and implementation. As a result, in the present paper, we have tried to take into consideration the effective factors which influence the implementation of strategic planning. More importantly, we will highlight the point that effective implementation of strategic planning is not feasible unless the managers follow a regular and a planned schedule. Evaluating the educational activities and the students’ progress is one of the major purposes of all educational systems. In the same line, this article describes the descriptive evaluation and judgments about the value of the utility goals, designs, implementations, and the results to conduct appropriate decision making to serve the needs of not only the learners but also the society. Descriptive methods in evaluation are concerned with changes in attitudes and behaviors of the students in order to create high amount of interest and motivation in the students. To this end, teachers are required to be familiar with the description and evaluation of teaching techniques. Accordingly, they can identify the entry behavior of the learners based on the diagnostic evaluation. Research strategies and objectives expressed in this paper describe the evaluation and application of the direct consequences of the strengths and shortcomings and limitations of descriptive evaluation. Keywords: evaluation, evaluation training, evaluation descriptio

Neutrosophic C-Means Clustering with Optimal Machine Learning Enabled Skin Lesion Segmentation and Classification

Early detection and classification of skin lesions using dermoscopic images have attracted significant attention in the healthcare sector. Automated skin lesion segmentation becomes tedious owing to the presence of artifacts like hair, skin line, etc. Earlier works have developed skin lesion det ection models using clustering approaches. The advances in neutrosophic set (NS) models can be applied to derive effective clustering models for skin lesion segmentation. At the same time, artificial intelligence (AI) tools can be developed for the identification and categorization of skin cancer using dermoscopic images. This article introduces a Neutrosophic C-Means Clustering with Optimal Machine Learning Enabled Skin Lesion Segmentation and Classification (NCCOML-SKSC) model. The proposed NCCOML-SKSC model derives a NCC-based segmentation approach to segment the dermoscopic images. Besides, the AlexNet model is exploited to generate a feature vector. In the final stage, the optimal multilayer perceptron (MLP) model is utilized for the classification process in which the MLP parameters are chosen by the use of a whale optimization algorithm (WOA). A detailed experimental analysis of the NCCOML-SKSC model using a benchmark dataset is performed and the results highlighted the supremacy of the NCCOML-SKSC model over the recent approaches

Thesis(Master) --KDI School:Master of International Relations and Political Economy,1999This thesis is mainly about the Kashmiri Muslims’ uprising in India in 1989. The uprising is viewed as the internal conflict between the Indian state’s bad policies to repress the Muslim ethnic group in Kashmir and the Kashmiris’ challenge against such an authority of India. The puzzles that this thesis raises: Why did the uprising break out? As it broke out, why did it break out in 1989, and not before? The study identifies both underlying causes and triggering causes of the uprising. The central argument is that the current dimension of the Kashmiri uprising is the continuation of the past, and therefore, the endresult of the Indian government endemic “misrule” (underlying macro-political causal factor) in Kashmir. This, in turn, created sufficient grounds to assert their (Kashmiri Muslim) distinct separate Muslim identity (ethno-religious factor) making Kashmir a case of enthnonationalism. Enthnonationalism took roots because they sensed that they were relatively deprived from their rights and share. This sense of relative deprivation (economic and political factors) led to increasing ethnic/political mobilization (triggering micro-political causal factor) among Kashmiris, especially within the new-generation. Their awakening to the realization of relative deprivation and their efforts towards ethnic/political mobilization were made possible by high rate of literacy among the Kashmiris and their access to media: both audio and video and the “diffusion” effect from the similar incidents happening across the border. Although the current uprising is chiefly driven internally by the Indian elite’s bad policy (Brown’s leadership-centric approach), it is also reinforced by external factors. The external factors included the successful Iranian Revolution of 1979 (cultural/religious factor), the rise of the Palestinian Intifada movement and the eventual establishment of the Palestinian state (religio-cultural factor), the Soviet fiasco in Afghanistan (political factor), the ethnic-based uprising in the former Soviet Union and Yugoslavia (ethnonationalism factor), and more important, the Pakistani support (bad neighbor policy) for the Kashmiri rebels. These external factors were tangential to the uprising. The causal direction was bi-directional and not unidirectional. However, now that the genie, the uprising, has come out of the bottle, it will keep bedeviling the bilateral relations of India and Pakistan. The Kargil crisis of 1999 amply testified that. The 1989 uprising has transformed Kashmir into a new and ongoing area of conflict in which India, Pakistan, and the Kashmiri people all have a stake.I. INTRODUCTION II.
