Towards a Cloud-Based Ontology for Service Model Security -- Technical Report

The adoption of cloud computing has brought significant advancements in the operational models of businesses. However, this shift also brings new security challenges by expanding the attack surface. The offered services in cloud computing have various service models. Each cloud service model has a defined responsibility divided based on the stack layers between the service user and their cloud provider. Regardless of its service model, each service is constructed from sub-components and services running on the underlying layers. In this paper, we aim to enable more transparency and visibility by designing an ontology that links the provider's services with the sub-components used to deliver the service. Such breakdown for each cloud service sub-components enables the end user to track the vulnerabilities on the service level or one of its sub-components. Such information can result in a better understanding and management of reported vulnerabilities on the sub-components level and their impact on the offered services by the cloud provider. Our ontology and source code are published as an open-source and accessible via GitHub: \href{https://github.com/mohkharma/cc-ontology}{mohkharma/cc-ontology}Comment: 8 page

Local Fourier transform and epsilon factors

Laumon introduced the local Fourier transform for â„“\ell-adic Galois representations of local fields, of equal characteristic pp different from â„“\ell, as a powerful tool to study the Fourier-Deligne transform of â„“\ell-adic sheaves over the affine line. In this article, we compute explicitly the local Fourier transform of monomial representations satisfying a certain ramification condition, and deduce Laumon's formula relating the epsilon factor to the determinant of the local Fourier transform under the same condition

Monetary Policy and Bank Hetrogeneity: Effectiveness of Bank Lending Channel in Pakistan

We investigate, using vector autoregressions (VAR) and Panel Data Analysis, the role of banks in monetary policy transmission in Pakistan. Empirical evidence suggests that the 'bank lending channel' is at work at the aggregate level. Loans, deposits and government securities all reduce after a shock to the monetary policy. When we examine bank heterogeneity in terms of size, liquidity and capitalization, the results are mixed. Size is found to be a relevant characteristic. Capitalization, measured by excess capital, is also somewhat effective. Thus, small sized and capital constrained banks respond more to monetary policy signals. Liquidity and the traditional measure of capital, on the other hand, are found to be weaker characteristics. Moreover, the results suggest that the market for loans has a stationary size distribution (no monopolistic tendencies) in Pakistan

Any nation's economic growth directly depends on expanding its agricultural industry. Compared to the agricultural productivity of the United States and Canada, Iraq's agricultural sector is dated. This study investigates the impact of technology adoption, technological diffusion, human capital, capital formation, and labor force on farm product output in Iraq. Unlike previous studies on the agriculture industry, which relied primarily on secondary data from various reports and surveys, this study is founded on primary data. The adoption of technology, the diffusion of technology, and human capital can increase agricultural production in Iraq, according to this study. Substantial study results contributed to a powerful framework in the body of knowledge. This study's innovative theoretical and practical ramifications will increase the literature and the practices of agricultural practitioners in Pakistan. The study aims to boost agricultural production in Iraq by stressing technology.Zainab Abed Almoussawi (College of Islamic Science/ Ahl Al Bayt University/ Kerbala / Iraq), Hussam Mohammed Wafqan (Accounting Department, Al-Mustaqbal University College, Babylon, Iraq), Sabbah Raheem Mahdi (Mazaya University College/ Iraq), Ammar Dhahim (College of education/ Al-Farahidi University /Baghdad/ Iraq), Omayma Nawfal Ahmed (Department of Dentistry, AlNoor University College, Bartella, Iraq), Maki Mahdi Abdulhasan (Al-Nisour University College/Baghdad/Iraq), Khudr Bary Freeh (Accounting and Economics/ Al-Esraa University College, Baghdad, Iraq)Includes bibliographical references
