Perceived Organisational Support, Transformational Leadership and Organizational Performance: Perspectives of Hospitality Industry in Malaysia
Leadership studies within the field of business research in Malaysia and around the globe are expanding rapidly but remain divided and inconclusive. The hospitality industry provides significant contributions to Malaysia’s economy, reflecting its financial standing. Therefore, this paper intends to analyze the most recent research breakthroughs linked to transformational leadership and organizational performance in Malaysia’s hospitality industry, as well as to put forward recommendations for potential mediating or moderating variables. Past literature confirms that practicing and exhibiting transformational leadership qualities is relevant for hospitality leaders. Furthermore, it suggests that transformational leadership dimensions may significantly contribute to organizational performance. Finally, this study concludes that POS could bridge the gap in existing research on the relationship between transformational leadership towards organizational performance. This study strongly postulates that by examining the role of POS in different contextual studies, it is highly anticipated that the direct links between transformational leadership and the performance of an organization can be enhanced. Furthermore, implications and recommendations are also discussed
Are we Resilient Enough? A Post-Pandemic Case Study Approach Among Leaders of SMEs in Malaysia
Purpose: The present study has adopted a case study approach to gain insight into the phenomenon of persistent success in business organisations from the perspective of leaders who have achieved it and proposes a new model of resilient leadership.
Design/Methodology/Approach: Three case studies were conducted, providing an in-depth analysis of the factors contributing to SME owners’ leadership orientation across diverse industries. The data analysis was conducted using a two-stage approach. First, by using thematic analysis, eight themes were identified. Second, expert reviews were consulted to obtain feedback on these eight themes, and subsequent modifications were made.
Findings: The importance of leadership effectiveness extends beyond the operational functioning of a business, encompassing the crucial task of maintaining employee morale amidst grievances and volatile economic and social conditions. These leaders promptly demonstrated responsiveness and adaptability to the prevailing economic situation. A model of resilient leadership has been proposed, comprising six dimensions that include adaptability, emotional intelligence, vision, spiritual intelligence, a growth mindset, and an internal ecosystem.
Research implication: The novelty of this newly proposed leadership model primarily lies in its application within the Malaysian context, as many of the previous leadership theories have been developed in a western context, and some of the elements might not be relevant to an eastern culture.
Practical implication: The newly proposed model could be embedded into the entreperenerial development in Malaysia and also be extended to other neighbouring countries that share similar cultures.
Originality/Value: Research on leadership is vast, with the majority of it conducted quantitatively. Thus, conducting a leadership study through qualitative analysis poses different insights and implications than the existing literature

Kajian ini juga menambah kefahaman terhadap faktor-faktor ketidakupayaan pemilikan rumah mampu milik yang perlu diambil berat di Malaysia supaya pihak berkepentingan boleh menggunakannya sebagai panduan
Screening and partial purification of protease inhibitors from Senna surattensis leaves / Ahmad Firdhaus Arham.
This study was done to determine the inhibitory activity that were exhibited by
different parts of the local plants in Malaysia selected from the 4 families which are
Leguminosae, Rubiaceae, Apocynaceae and Euphorbiaceae. The screening method used
in this study are Bradford Assay and Trypsin Inhibitory Assay. Both these assays
revealed that Senna surattensis leaves showed the highest inhibitory activity of 83 %
compared to other 41 plant samples studied in this study. SDS-PAGE and Tricine SDS
on this sample extract showed the presence of this protease inhibitor through the
formation of band. From these band also, the molecular weight for Senna surattensis
leaves was determined to be 27.93 kDa. From the mode of inhibition study carried on
Senna surattensis leaves, it was found out that this plant belongs to the competetive
inhibitor group with Ki value of 8.89 x10-5 mM. Thermostability test reavealed that
Senna surattensis leaves extract can only work best at temperature below 60˚C and
achieve its optimum inhibitory temperature at 45⁰C with 87.35 % of inhibitory activity.
Senna surattensis leaves extract also showed the ability to inhibit the protein extracted\ud
from Chrysomya megacephala through the study performed on the crude
Chrysomya megacephala protein extract. The IC50 value of Senna surattensis leaves
extract was determined to be 0.0174 μg/μl. Although with all of these promising result,
further test need to be done to confirm it

Public’s attitudes towards autocidal trap in Malaysia
As dengue incidence rises yearly, there are several reports on the poor effectiveness of conventional vector management techniques. One of the major illnesses that endanger public health and occasionally result in death is dengue. Due to the lack of a specific treatment for dengue, the autocidal trap was selected as an alternate strategy for dengue prevention in the survey. This essay's goal is to evaluate and contrast Malaysians' attitudes toward the autocidal trap as a dengue-prevention strategy across educational levels and age groups. In Malaysia's Klang Valley, a poll of 415 adult respondents was conducted. The study's findings suggested that Malaysians had positive opinions toward autocidal traps. The Malaysians expressed moderate levels of perceived risks when it came to negative effects and harm to the health and ecosystem, despite their high levels of perceived benefits and behavior intentions. This suggests that Malaysians tend to be decisive when expressing their opinion toward an unusual technique like an autocidal trap. A substantial variation in attitudes regarding autocidal traps was revealed by one-way MANOVA across stakeholder groups, educational attainment levels, and age groups.
Public perspectives on strays and companion animal management in Malaysia
Abstract Strays and companion animal management is a sensitive issue in Malaysia that incites solid and conflicting views. Through structured questionnaires administered to a random sample of 704 respondents, this study explored public opinion on a) causes of the stray animal population, b) the management of the stray animal population, and c) the national strategy on strays and companion Animal Management. The results show that 70.3% of respondents agreed that a lack of public awareness regarding animal care was the major contributor to the stray animal population. In addition, 58.1% of respondents felt that treating and vaccinating animals exposed to zoonotic diseases is a viable approach that could be instituted as a reasonable measure in stray animal population management. Finally, developing animal protection areas through a multi-stakeholder partnership strategy initiative recorded the highest support (48.4%) for intervention planning for stray animal management at a national level. Notably, a significant percentage of public responses were implicitly influenced by demographic variables. These findings provide valuable insights into public opinion regarding stray and companion animal management in Malaysia. These findings could inform the development of future legislation aimed at reducing the unfavorable effects of stray animal populations on humans and the ecology of Malaysia
tahap pendidikan. Manakala analisis lanjutan ANOVA mengesahkan perbezaan signifikan tanggapan risiko
merentas pihak berkepentingan, sementara komitmen keagamaan berbeza merentas jantina danagama. Hasil
kajian ini penting sebagai penanda aras yang bermanfaat kepada pihak yang terlibat dalam pengawalan
denggi untuk memahami sikap pihak berkepentingan terhadap teknik fogging
