Applying Value Creation Framework to Offer Public Transport Improvement

Public Transportation in urban areas is expected to be main choice for people's mobility. The aim of this research is apply value creation framework based on S-D Logic and Trans Jogja from Yogyakarta and Värmlandstrafik AB Sweden are the case study. This research use direct observation and interview to the related person/ company as the primary data, and to support them use group discussion with the users. This research also use secondary data from some journals, reports, documentations, etc. From the analysis and discussion Värmlandstrafik AB is address the value creation service and opportunity more than Trans Jogja. From conclusion, the need of applying value creation framework in Trans Jogja is to offer public transport improvement as has been illustrated by Trans Jogja. Although the achievement of value creation opportunities are not as high as that achieved by Värmlandstrafik AB, but Trans Jogja should learn about what needs should be improved

Abundance analyses of helium-rich subluminous B stars

The connection between helium-rich hot subdwarfs of spectral types O and B (He-sdB) has been relatively unexplored since the latter were found in significant numbers in the 1980's. In order to explore this connection further, we have analysed the surface composition of six He-sdB stars, including LB 1766, LB 3229, SB 21 (= Ton-S 137 = BPS 29503-0009), BPS 22940-0009, BPS 29496-0010, and BPS 22956-0094. Opacity-sampled line-blanketed model atmospheres have been used to derive atmospheric properties and elemental abundances. All the stars are moderately metal-poor compared with the Sun ([Fe/H] ~ -0.5). Four stars are nitrogen-rich, two of these are carbon-rich, and at least four appear to be neon-rich. The data are insufficient to rule out binarity in any of the sample. The surface composition and locus of the N-rich He-sdBs are currently best explained by the merger of two helium white dwarfs, or possibly by the merger of a helium white dwarf with a post-sdB white dwarf. C-rich He-sdBs require further investigation.Comment: Accepted 2010 July

The performance of modified jatropha-based nanofluid during turning process

    Get PDF
The industry's extensive use of petroleum-based metalworking fluid (MWF) harms the environment and humans. The production of bio-based MWF, especially from crude jatropha oil (CJO), has therefore taken numerous initiatives. This aimed to formulate newly modified jatropha oil (MJO) with the addition of 0.05wt.% hBN and 0.05wt.% MoS2 as the nanofluid for MWF. The performance of the nanofluids was determined through the turning process in terms of cutting temperature, workpiece surface roughness, tool life and tool wear of the tool lubricated by the nanofluids. The performance of the nanofluid samples was compared with the synthetic ester (SE). From the results, after conducted 100mm axial cutting length MJO+hBN+MoS2 recorded the lowest in cutting temperature and surface roughness compared to all samples. The result shows that MJO+hBN+MoS2 has longer tool life (6500mm) compared to SE (6000mm). Abrasion and adhesion were observed as the dominant tool wear mechanism. In conclusion, MJO+hBN+MoS2 shows better machining performance and has the potential to be an environmentally friendly metalworking fluid

Density Controlled Divide-and-Rule Scheme for Energy Efficient Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

Cluster based routing technique is most popular routing technique in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). Due to varying need of WSN applications efficient energy utilization in routing protocols is still a potential area of research. In this research work we introduced a new energy efficient cluster based routing technique. In this technique we tried to overcome the problem of coverage hole and energy hole. In our technique we controlled these problems by introducing density controlled uniform distribution of nodes and fixing optimum number of Cluster Heads (CHs) in each round. Finally we verified our technique by experimental results of MATLAB simulations.Comment: 26th IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE2013), Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, 201

Critical Analysis of a Technology-Based Enterprise: a Case Study of Yahoo!

Yahoo's history might give a valuable lesson about a critical issue in a leading company, which is now considered to no longer have a competitive advantage. This paper aims at analyzing critically the issues of Yahoo's ruin. The findings suggest that the causes include having no superior product, lack of focus, poor leadership, and no clear vision. Consequently, this issue gave a massive impact on the company's revenue, net profit, valuation, and even existence. Finally, although this case is about a high-tech company's issue, this might become sort of evaluation and reflection for any companies, since the causes seem relevant to all company types. This case also can be a learning lesson for professionals, academicians, and students
