    Adaptogenic plants within food supplement

    Get PDF
Adaptogenic plants have been recognized for their ability to enhance the body\u27s capacity to adapt and withstand various stressors. This article explores the concept of adaptogens and their role in promoting resilience, tolerance, and adaptation to stress. Plant adaptogens are preferred over synthetic alternatives due to their safety, ability to normalize body functions, and the complex combination of compounds they contain. These natural extracts work synergistically to provide health benefits, unlike isolated compounds. Adaptogens act on multiple levels, modulating immunity, endocrine function, neurotransmitters, and signaling pathways. They help maintain homeostasis and can be used to prevent and manage health disorders resulting from imbalances in the body. The modern lifestyle\u27s increasing prevalence of lifestyle disorders necessitates the consideration of adaptogenic food supplements. These supplements can prevent chronic diseases, improve quality of life, and counteract the declining ability of the body to combat stress. Taking adaptogens in the form of gummies offers distinct advantages, including convenience, compliance, and higher bioavailability. Gummies bypass the liver\u27s first-pass metabolism, ensuring the efficient absorption of active ingredients. As adaptogens are often used long-term, gummies provide a suitable and enjoyable means of incorporating these beneficial plant extracts into daily routines. Choosing high-quality brands is essential for optimal results

Nano-formulation and controlled delivery of low solubility anticancer drugs

Optimal drug delivery and reduction of systemic adverse effects have been age old problems in chemotherapeutics in all types of human cancer. During chemotherapy, using water insoluble drugs like paclitaxel and tamoxifen, it has been realized that better formulations are needed for more specific and controlled drug delivery of these agents. In a novel approach to form high content stable nanocolloids of these drugs with controllable release rate, a sonicated layer-by-layer (LbL) polyelectrolyte coating technology is suggested. The desired features of pharmaceutical carriers for intravenous administration include their small size and biodegradability, good loading capacity for a given drug, high content of a drug in a final preparation, prolonged circulation in the blood, and ability to gradually concentrate in required areas (targeting) via passive accumulation. While these requirements are reasonably well met by a variety of drug carriers (liposomes, microcapsules, nanoparticles) developed for water-soluble drugs, the development of nanoparticulate drug carriers displaying all of these properties for the delivery of poorly soluble pharmaceuticals still represents a challenge. Intravenous administration of these intrinsically hydrophobic agents is frequently associated with serious problems. One of these problems is that the diameter of blood capillaries is only a few micrometers or less, and intravenous administration of aggregates of undissolved material that form in an aqueous media would cause embolization before reaching and penetrating a target, such as tumor. Additionally, the low solubility of hydrophobic drugs in combination with excretion and metabolic degradation often does not allow for achieving therapeutically significant systemic concentrations. As a result, many promising drug candidates never enter further development because of solubility problems. Currently, the most popular approach to dissolve poorly soluble drugs and prepare their dosage forms with sufficiently high bioavailability is the use of micellar drug carriers, specifically polymeric micelles. In this study LbL coating technology is proposed to make stable aqueous colloids of poorly soluble drugs with high stability, controllable release (faster or slower than bulk drug powders), and a very high content of the active drug. To achieve this, aqueous suspensions of poorly soluble drugs with micron range particles are subjected to a powerful ultrasonic treatment in order to decrease the size of individual drug particles to the nano level (between 100 and 200 nm), and while still keeping the obtained nanoparticles under sonication to prevent their fast agglomeration, they are stabilized in solution by applying the LbL technology (alternating addition of polycations and polyanions to the system) and assembling a thin polyelectrolyte coating on their surface. In the process of assembly, the highly charged polymeric layers are always present on the drug particle surface thus preventing particle aggregation after stopping the sonication. At the end of the process, stable nanocolloidal dispersions are formed. After the first polycation layer is deposited on the surface of a drug nanoparticle, it is stabilized by the addition of following oppositely charged polyanion. They form a stable electrostatic complex resulting in the appearance of a very thin but stable polymeric shell around each drug nanoparticle. This polyelectrolyte multilayer shell prevents particle aggregation, and can be easily and reproducibly formed on the surface of any drug particle. By varying the charge density on each polymer or the number of coating cycles, particles with a different surface charge and different composition of the polymeric coating can be prepared. This provides a way to control drug release from such particles by designing the shell architecture at the nanometer level. The use of a polymer containing reactive groups (such as amino or carboxy-groups) for the last outer surface coating allow for the attachment of specific ligands, or reporter groups, or other moieties of interest to the nanoparticle surface. By nanoencapsulation of such anticancer drugs as tamoxifen, paclitaxel, and camptothecin, we demonstrate the general applicability of this approach. The final content of the drug in the preparation as well as its release rate from the preparation can be controlled by the multilayer composition of the shell. The process key point is the deposition of the first polycation layer during the powerful sonication of the drug dispersion. In this process, dispersed by the ultrasound fine drug nanoparticles are immediately coated with a polyelectrolyte monolayer providing a high surface charge, which prevents the aggregation. Such drug nanocolloids remain stable in aqueous solutions after switching off the sonication

    A STUDY OF ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY

The zigbee communication is a communication technology to connect local wireless nodes and provides high stability and transfer rate due to data communication with low power. In the nodes away from coordinator in one PAN, the signal strength is weak causing the network a shortage of low performance and inefficient use of resources due to transferring delay and increasing delay time and thus cannot conduct seamless communication. This study suggests the grouping method, that makes it possible to perform wide range data transferring depending on the node signal strength in zigbee node and analyzes the suggested algorithm through simulation. Based on IEEE 802.15.4 Low Rate-Wireless Personal Area Network (LR-WPAN) standard, the Zigbee standard has been proposed to interconnect simple, low rate and battery powered wireless devices. The de-ployment of Zigbee networks is expected to facilitate numerous applications such as Home-appliance net-works, home healthcare, medical monitoring and environmental sensors. An effective routing scheme is more important for Zigbee mesh networks. In order to achieve effective routing in Zigbee Mesh networks, a Zigbee protocol module is realized using NS-2. The suitable routing for different data services in the Zigbee application layer and a best routing strategy for Zigbee mesh network are proposed. The ZigBee standard provides network, security, and application support services operating on top of the IEEE 802.15.4 Medium AccessControl (MAC) and Physical Layer wireless standard. It employs a group of technologies to enable scalable, self-organizing, self-healing networks that can manage various data traffic patterns. ZigBee is a low-cost, low-power, wireless mesh networking standard. The low costal lows the technologyto be widely deployed in wireless control and monitoring applications, the low power-usage allows longerlife with smaller batteries, and the mesh networking which promises high reliability and larger range. ZigBee has-been developed to meet the growing demand for capable wireless networking between numerous low power devices. The aims of this network are to reduce the energy consumption and latency by enhancing routing algorithm. In a traditional tree routing when a node wants to transmit a packet to the destination, the packet has to follow child/parent relationship and go along tree topology, even if the destination is lying at nearby source. In order to solve this problem, an Enhanced Tree Routing Algorithm is introduced using ZigBee network. This algorithm can find the shortest path by computing the routing cost for all of router that stored in neighbor table, and transmit the packet to the neighbor router that can reduce the hop count of transmission. The enhanced tree routing algorithm can achieve more stable and better efficiency then the previous traditional tree routing algorithm

    Integrity Estimation Model: Fault Perspective

    Get PDF
An integrity estimation model for object oriented design fault perspective has been proposed in this paper. Integrity has been recognized as a major factor to software security, an importance is being drawn to measure integrity early in development life cycle. No such model has been available in the literature that estimates security of object oriented design by taking fault parameters into consideration. A suit of design metrics useful in measuring integrity of software has been recognized. It becomes more significant in the case of object oriented design fault perspective. In this study a metrics based Integrity Estimation Model (IEMOODF) for object oriented design has been developed and justifying the correlation with the help of experimental tryouts. Finally the developed model ?Integrity Estimation Model? is empirically validated and contextual importance of the study shows the high correlation for proposed model acceptance

Extensive humeral hydatid cyst with extraosseous involvement: a case report

Hydatid cysts caused by Echinococcus species mainly involve visceral organs. Rarely skeletal involvement occurs. The spine and pelvis account for half of the cases of osseous hydatidosis, making humeral hydatid cysts one of the rarest conditions. We report a case of humeral hydatidosis in a 42-year male who presented to us with pain and swelling over the left upper arm, radiological investigations suggestive of osseous cystic lesions were inconclusive and diagnosis of hydatidosis was confirmed with a biopsy subsequently. Surgical excision and curettage of bone and surrounding soft tissue were done, and the void was filled using PMMA cement followed by antihelminthic chemotherapy. No complication or recurrence has been found postoperatively at the end of 6 months of follow-up, with preservation of limb function. To keep orthopedic surgeons aware of this morbid condition, due to its low prevalence, and advanced presentation which is likely misdiagnosed, and even after the early intervention, there is a high recurrence rate which makes this one of the rare cases of humeral hydatidosis notifiable
