Economic Aspects Of Financial Leasing In Business Investments
Leasing, as a financial instrument, was able to affirm itself in many developed countries as one of the most effective and accessible mechanisms for financing the expansion and development of the means of production, asset finance necessary for the development and for the application of new technologies in business. Leasing is a modern way of financing through which the customer enjoys a good, the payment being spread over the period of the lease, and the installments paid being deductible according to the type of leasing contract. Compared with other forms of financing, leasing has the advantage of eliminating red tape required for the granting of credits and the financial guarantees only with the asset that is the subject of the lease.leasing, investment project, financial flows, estimating risk
Improving Runtime Overheads for detectEr
We design monitor optimisations for detectEr, a runtime-verification tool
synthesising systems of concurrent monitors from correctness properties for
Erlang programs. We implement these optimisations as part of the existing tool
and show that they yield considerably lower runtime overheads when compared to
the unoptimised monitor synthesis.Comment: In Proceedings FESCA 2015, arXiv:1503.0437
Catching a planet: A tidal capture origin for the exomoon candidate Kepler 1625b I
The (yet-to-be confirmed) discovery of a Neptune-sized moon around the ~3.2
Jupiter-mass planet in Kepler 1625 puts interesting constraints on the
formation of the system. In particular, the relatively wide orbit of the moon
around the planet, at ~40 planetary radii, is hard to reconcile with planet
formation theories. We demonstrate that the observed characteristics of the
system can be explained from the tidal capture of a secondary planet in the
young system. After a quick phase of tidal circularization, the lunar orbit,
initially much tighter than 40 planetary radii, subsequently gradually widened
due to tidal synchronization of the spin of the planet with the orbit,
resulting in a synchronous planet-moon system. Interestingly, in our scenario
the captured object was originally a Neptune-like planet, turned into a moon by
its capture.Comment: Accepted for publication in ApJL. 7 pages, 5 figure
Time series forecasting using a TSK fuzzy system tuned with simulated annealing
In this paper, a combination of a Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy system (TSK) and simulated annealing is used to predict well known time series by searching for the best configuration of the fuzzy system. Simulated annealing is used to optimise the parameters of the antecedent and the consequent parts of the fuzzy system rules. The results of the proposed method are encouraging indicating that simulated annealing and fuzzy logic are able to combine well in time series prediction

On the Hierarchical Preconditioning of the Combined Field Integral Equation
This paper analyzes how hierarchical bases preconditioners constructed for
the Electric Field Integral Equation (EFIE) can be effectively applied to the
Combined Field Integral Equation (CFIE). For the case where no hierarchical
solenoidal basis is available (e.g., on unstructured meshes), a new scheme is
proposed: the CFIE is implicitly preconditioned on the solenoidal Helmholtz
subspace by using a Helmholtz projector, while a hierarchical non-solenoidal
basis is used for the non-solenoidal Helmholtz subspace. This results in a
well-conditioned system. Numerical results corroborate the presented theory
