    Validity of The Abtract Algebra Teaching Book

    The Abstract Algebra is one of the most difficult subjects for students. In this course, students are required to have several textbooks as their reading source. However, the existing textbooks do not guide students in carrying out the process of preparing evidence and tend to speak non-Indonesian languages. The purpose of this research is to design and develop textbooks on abstract algebra courses which contain proofs in full step by step that can improve the ability to organize evidence. This type of research is development research with formative evaluation design consisting of self-evaluation, prototyping (expert reviews, one-to-one, and small groups), and field tests. The validity of the development of abstract algebra textbook is passed through the stages of self-evaluation and expert reviews. The results showed that the prototype of abstract algebra teaching books had a very high level of validity (89.29%)

    Students’ Achievement Levels, Gender, and Learning Styles on Abstract Algebra: A Profile of Evidence Developing Ability

    Mathematics education students’ ability on developing evidence needs to be reviewed by lecturers. 50% of the subjects in the mathematics education departement require students' accuracy in analyzing mathematical statements. This is increasingly important because the Indonesian National Qualifications Framework (KKNI) for the Bachelor level requires graduates to become technicians / analysts. The diversity of levels of students’ ability, gender, and learning styles are assumsed to be the discrepancy abilities to develop evidence. This study aims to describe the evidence developing ability based on the levels of achievement, gender, and student learning styles. The subjects of this study were abstact algebra students in the mathematics education department. Type of this research was descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques using test and non-test techniques. Students were given five questions about abstact algebra that demanded the evidence developing ability. The achivement levels and gender were obtained from students’ academic achievement data. The learning styles were attained from questionnaires. The results of the study is higher the students’ academic achievement, better the evidence developing ability on Abstract Algebra. The gender does not affect the evidence developing ability on Abstact Algebra. Students with visual learning styles have the ability to develop evidence better than students with other learning styles

    Instrument and evaluation of students’ involvement in learning Mathematics in 21-century skills at senior high schools of Riau province

    Student engagement is the most crucial factor in learning activities because it is the main factor in improving student learning outcomes in class. This study aims to develop instruments and evaluate student involvement in learning mathematics to achieve maximum learning outcomes at school. The population in this study was all high school students in Riau Province. The sample is 150 high school students selected by multiple-stage random sampling based on high, medium, and low student achievement levels. Data analysis in this study was carried out four times: (1) data analysis based on the results of expert assessment of the instrument with the Aiken formula; (2) small-scale validity data analysis with first-order CFA; (3) large-scale data analysis with second-order CFA analysis; (4) descriptive analysis to see the categorization of student learning engagement in Riau Province whether in very good, good, not good and very not good. The analysis using the Aiken formula shows that 24 out of 27 items developed are valid. The first-order CFA analysis shows that the 24 items distributed are valid. The second-order analysis shows that the construct validity of the learning involvement variable is valid and reliable. The analysis of learning involvement results shows that students' involvement in learning mathematics is in the not-good category. The Riau provincial government needs to maximize student learning engagement which can be done by regulating students' effective study hours at school and home. Collaboration between parents and schools must be improved so parents can control student learning outside of school

    In order to measure the achievement of students’ competencies, a teacher needs to have the skills to develop various forms of good instruments. One form of the instruments is a test with questions. To have a good instrument, it needs to be analyzed by testing the content validity, construct validity and the reliability of the questions.In compiling the test questions, the plan is also called a grid question that will provide directional guidance. In principle, the grid question that will be carried out is necessary for the expected outcome to be achieved. A careful and conceptual grid question is a guarantee for a teacher in measuring the students’ learning mastery with relevant and representative. If the students' abilities are measurable, information on academic ability and achievement of learning objectives can be obtained. The compiling of the grid question was the solution to the problem above. It was due to the grid question covered the scope and the content of the material to be tested. Therefore, it was necessary to implement an activity of making grid question for teachers of PGRI High School. The method of this activity was a workshop for high school teachers in compiling grid question. The results of this community service show that the motivation and the awareness of teachers about the importance of making good, valid, and reliable grid question were increased

    Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Berdasarkan Masalah (Problem Based Learning) untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII2 SMPN 34 Pekanbaru

    ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa kelas VIII2 SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru semester genap tahun pelajaran 2017/2018 pada materi Kubus dan Balok melalui penerapan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah (problem based learning). Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII2 SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru yang berjumlah 40 siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adala Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua siklus yang terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari hasil observasi aktivitas guru dan siswa selama belajar dan kuantitatif diperoleh dari hasil ulangan harian (UH) siswa. Berdasarkan analisis ketercapaian KKM, menunjukkan bahwa persentase ketuntasan pada siklus I adalah 57,5% (23 siswa)  dengan rarta-rata 76,55 dan pada siklus II adalah 75% (30 siswa) dengan rata-rata 83,77 yang mana pada skor dasar hanya 45% (18 siswa) dengan rata-rata 71,97. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian maka dapat disimpulkan penerapan model pembelajaran berdasarkan masalah (problem based learning) dapat memperbaiki proses pembelajaran dan meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa siswa kelas VIII2 SMP Negeri 34 Pekanbaru tahun pelajaran 2017/2018.     Pengembangan E-modul Berbantuan Software Algebrator pada Materi Bilangan Berpangkat dan Bentuk Akar Kelas X SMK

    The use of technology in education has a significant impact in educating and educating the nation's life, and can help create new innovations. One of the innovations created is the emergence of the concept of electronic learning (e-learning). E-learning is useful for students and teachers to get learning materials easily, one of which is by using e-module teaching materials. This study aims to determine the process and produce a product in the form of an e-module of teaching materials assisted by algebrator software on the material of rank numbers and root forms for class X SMK. This type of research is development using ADDIE floating model. The instrument used in this study is a non-test instrument, namely a validation questionnaire, and the data obtained from a validation questionnaire that has been filled out by the validator. The data will be analyzed descriptively quantitatively.     Contextual Teaching and Learning pada Materi Bilangan Bulat: Sebuah Pengembangan Perangkat Pembelajaran

    Pada dasarnya pertumbuhan dan perkembangan peserta didik bergantung pada dua unsur yang saling berpengaruhi, yakni bakat yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik sejak lahir, dan lingkungan yang mempengaruhi hingga bakat itu tumbuh dan berkembang. Tujuan dalam penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran dengan pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) yang valid dan praktis pada materi bilangan bulat di kelas VII SMP. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa SMP sebanyak 36 siswa. Model pengembangan yang digunakan berupa model 4-D dengan menggunakan 3 tahap, yaitu: (a) pendefenisian dengan menganalisis kurikulum, menganalisis karakter siswa, dan menganalisis konsep materi; (b) perencanaan dengan merancang RPP dan LKPD sesuai dengan KI, KD, indikator, serta tujuan belajar yang ingin dicapai; (c) pengembangan yang divalidasi oleh validator, menganalisis data validasi hasil penilaian validator untuk melihat kevalidan produk. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan nilai kevalidan pada RPP dengan kategori sangat valid, dan nilai kevalidan LKPD dengan kategori cukup valid. Pada saat uji coba peneliti memberikan angket respon guru dan angket respon siswa. Kemudian kepraktisan dilihat dari angket respon guru dengan kategori sangat praktis, dan angket respon siswa dengan kategori sangat praktis. Sehingga dihasil penelitian dan pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dengan pendekatan CTL pada materi bilangan bulat, dihasilkan perangkat pembelajaran berupa RPP dan LKPD yang teruji kevalidan dan kepraktisannya. &nbsp

    Analisis Minat Belajar Siswa Menggunakan Media Pembelajaran E-comic Aritmatika Sosial Masa Pandemi Covid-19

    The Covid-19 pandemic has become a trending topic of conversation for the past year until now, this pandemic has changed various aspects of human life today, especially in the world of education. This causes students' failure to understand mathematical concepts and students' lack of interest in learning. This study aims to describe students' learning interest in the use of E-comic media in social arithmetic material during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research is a descriptive quantitative research. The sample of the research was the seventh grade students of SMP which consisted of 15 students who were taken randomly. The instrument used in this study is a non-test instrument in the form of a student learning interest questionnaire distributed using Google Form in social arithmetic learning using E-comic which consists of 20 statements as a reference to determine students' interest in learning in the use of E-comic media. The data analysis technique used in this research is quantitative descriptive analysis. The results of this study indicate that the use of E-comic learning media is effective on student learning interest during the Covid-19 pandemic with the percentage results80.67% classified as very high criteria. So that the E-comic learning media is very effectively used as a medium for learning mathematics to increase student interest in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic.Keywords: analysis, E-comic, social arithmetic, covid-1 pandemic

    Validitas Perangkat Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Problem Based Learning (PBL) Pada Materi Arimatika Sosial Kelas VII

    This study aims to produce mathematics learning tools in the form Learning Implementation Plans (RPP) and Student Worksheets (LKPD) using a Problem Based Learning (PBL) mathematics learning model on social arithmetic material for class VII tested valid. Development of learning tools in this study uses the method R&D development using the modified ADDIE model into 3 stages, namely: 1) Analysis, 2) Design, 3) Development. In the ADDIE model, the researcher does not use the Implementation stage and the Evaluation stage because at the moment it is still in the atmosphere of the Covid-19 pandemic. The data collections instruments in this study were the RPP validation sheets, and the LKPD validation sheet. The data collection technique used is validation data from 2 Mathematics Education Lecturers FKIP UIR and 2 Mathematics Teachers at MTs Al-Multazam Kerubung Jaya. The analytical techniqueused is validation data analysis. From the results of the study, the result of the RPP validation were 86,83% with a very valid validation level category and 81,54% LKPD validation results with a fairly valid validation level category. Based on the results of these studies, it can be concluded that the development of mathematics learning tools baseb on Problem Based Learning (PBL) in the sevent grade social arithmetic material has been tested for validity

    Pengaruh Pendekatan Pembelajaran Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) Terhadap Hasil Belajar Matematika Siswa Kelas VIII SMPN 10 Pekanbaru

    ABSTRAK   Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 10 Pekanbaru atau tidak terdapat pengaruh. Jenis penelitian adalah Eksperimen Semu dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh siswa kelas VIII SMPN 10 Pekanbaru dan sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII7 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas VIII8 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yaitu tes, lembar observasi keterlaksanaan dan dokumentasi. Untuk hasil penelitian, terlebih dahulu dilakukan  uji normalitas. Uji normalitas menggunakan Chi-Kuadrat ( . Pada hasil uji normalitas, diperoleh bahwa kelas eksperimen berdistribusi tidak normal dan kelas kontrol berdistribusi normal. Uji non-parametris diperlukan karena salah satu sampel tidak berdistribusi normal. Uji non-parametris menggunakan uji U Mann-Whitney. Pada hasil uji U Mann Whitney dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 diperoleh zhitung = -0,41 dengan ztabel = 0,18. Hasil uji U Mann Whitney menunjukkan bahwa zhitung tidak berada pada wilayah penerimaan H0 yaitu  -ztabel (-0,18) ≤ zhitung  â‰¤ ztabel (0,18), sehingga Ho ditolak dan H1 diterima. Dari hasil uji normalitas dan uji U Mann Whitney dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh pendekatan pembelajaran Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) terhadap hasil belajar Matematika siswa kelas VIII SMPN 10 Pekanbaru
