Presence of Clostridium difficile in poultry and poultry meat in Egypt

    C. difficile has been recognized as a potential zoonotic agent encouraging investigations of C. difficile prevalence and ribotypes in animals. Here we report the prevalence and diversity of Egyptian C. difficile in I) samples from healthy poultry (n = 50), II) samples from diseased poultry (n = 54), and III) poultry meat (n = 150). Thirteen isolates were obtained from seven healthy and five diseased animals, but no C. difficile was cultured from poultry meat. The isolated C. difficile strains belonged to 3 different PCR-ribotypes (039/2, 205 and 001/FLI01). The detection of strains related to RT 001 known for its ability to cause disease in humans makes poultry a potential reservoir for pathogenic C. difficile

SVD Audio Watermarking: A Tool to Enhance the Security of Image Transmission over ZigBee Networks, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2011, nr 4

The security is important issue in wireless networks. This paper discusses audio watermarking as a tool to improve the security of image communication over the IEEE 802.15.4 ZigBee network. The adopted watermarking method implements the Singular-Value Decomposition (SVD) mathematical technique. This method is based on embedding a chaotic encrypted image in the Singular Values (SVs) of the audio signal after transforming it into a 2-D format. The objective of chaotic encryption is to enhance the level of security and resist different attacks. Experimental results show that the SVD audio watermarking method maintains the high quality of the audio signals and that the watermark extraction and decryption are possible even in the presence of attacks over the ZigBee network

An Efficient Chaotic Interleaver for Image Transmission over IEEE 802.15.4 Zigbee Network, Journal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2011, nr 2

This paper studies a vital issue in wireless communications, which is the transmission of images over wireless networks. IEEE ZigBee 802.15.4 is a short-range communication standard that could be used for small distance multimedia transmissions. In fact, the ZigBee network is a wireless personal area network (WPAN), which needs a strong interleaving mechanism for protection against error bursts. This paper presents a novel chaotic interleaving scheme for this purpose. This scheme depends on the chaotic Baker map. A comparison study between the proposed chaotic interleaving scheme and the traditional block and convolutional interleaving schemes for image transmission over a correlated fading channel is presented. The simulation results show the superiority of the proposed chaotic interleaving scheme over the traditional schemes

The environmental design process aims to create an integrated design system that includes the integration of a set of standards in the design of products. These criteria include "functional, structural, economic and aesthetic criteria" as well as environmental standards. The present study examined the concept and principles of environmental design in order to develop the basic principles and standards The type of design and methods used in the design of metal umbrellas as one of the systems of light metal construction The research included three main axes . 1- the concept and principles of environmental design. 2- Metal umbrellas and light metal construction systems. 3 - An analytical study of the methods of employing environmental design standards in selected models of metal umbrellas. The research reached a number of results, the most important of which are: The principles and standards of environmental design conform to the structural and construction systems of light metal construction systems, where these systems achieve flexibility and adaptability to diverse use environments. The concept of environmental design includes the achievement of functional and aesthetic values consistent with the economics and efficiency of the construction, as well as the achievement of environmental standards in the design of metal umbrellas as one of the light metal construction systems

Study of the dispersion of heavy-particle sets in turbulent flows and of the fractal geometry of heavy-particle line using kinematic simulation to enhance fluid power systems

We study the dispersion of of multi-heavy-particle sets in an isotropic turbulent flow using the Lagrangian model, Kinematic Simulation. The simplified equation of motion of heavy particle in turbulent flow is introduced with a full description of the Kinematic Simulation model. The evolutions of the multi-heavy-particle sets in turbulent flow, shape and size, are plotted for different particle characteristic; different particle inertia and gravity, which leads to some information about the turbulent structures.EThOS - Electronic Theses Online ServiceGBUnited Kingdo
