    This article is written to provide a deliberation reviews on the current context of Islamic financial literacy among students. A research was conducted through case studies carried out among the students of University Malaysia Sabah Campus W.P. Labuan and Institut Pendidikan Guru (IPG), Kampus Batu Lintang, Sarawak, a teacher training institute. The respondents are candidates to become teachers upon completing their studies. Being knowledgeable and having skill in financial literacy, especially with respect to Islamic financial products, would be a great asset to them. Based on current scenario, financial literacy in Islamic financial products should be enhanced, especially to the academicians. The findings from this research is expected to be able to determine the factors influencing Islamic financial literacy among the students. This study employs a quantitative method using questionnaires distribution for analysis puposes. Data are collected through a survey using a closed ended questionnaire. Overall, the objective of this study is to determine the determinant factors towards Islamic financial literacy among students. The implications and recommendations are provided

    The influence of technology, environment and user acceptance on the effectiveness of information system project selection using SEM

    The selection of the present information system project is difficult because of the many factors that influence it. Information system project should pay attention to the user acceptance, technology and the environment in terms of their influence on the information system project selection.The purpose of this paper is to determine how much influence user acceptance, technology and the environment have on the information system project selection.This research uses data obtained from several ministries and analyzed using SEM (Structural Equation Models).The results found that the technology and the environment affects user acceptance. Moreover, technology and environment affect the effectiveness of the information systems project selection through the mediating effect of user acceptance. User acceptance, tested by the incorporation of usefulness and ease of use, the results are more modest and in line with previous theories. Furthermore, the external environment highly impacts the information system project selection

    Financial literacy: an exploratory review of the literature and future research

    There are voluminous literatures written on financial literacy or financial knowledge. Since there is a renewed interest in Islamic finance, this article provides an account of reviews on current financial literacy studies in particular studies with respect to Islamic financial products. It was several years ago when the Governor of Central Bank of Malaysia pointed out that in order to make Islamic financial products acceptable to a wider spectrum of investors and business people alike, financial literacy on Islamic financial products need to be enhanced. This is in order to facilitate transactions, with a clear understanding and appreciation of the unique characteristics and features of Islamic finance and its real economic value. Nevertheless, Kayed (2008) in his paper posed a pertinent question enquiring if there are any attempts by the research community to assess levels of Islamic financial literacy in various Muslim communities.In addition, another question was put forth by Ahmad (2010) on the importance of Islamic financial literacy. These two questions have actually motivated the current study to review available literatures on financial literacy main focus on the Islamic financial literacy. The objectives of this study are to determine if there are sufficient studies available on financial literacy with respect to Islamic financial products and services, as well as to examine if there are sufficient studies on the differences in the factors that affect financial literacy of people. The implications and recommendations are then put forward for future research

    Islamic financial literacy among bankers in Kuala Lumpur

    This article presents the findings on the study that determines the factors which influence financial literacy of bankers around Kuala Lumpur in term of Islamic financial products. The Governor of Central Bank of Malaysia pointed out several years ago that in order to make Islamic financial products acceptable to a wider spectrum of investors and business people alike, financial literacy on Islamic financial products need to be enhanced. This is to facilitate transactions, with a clear understanding and appreciation of the unique characteristics and features of Islamic Finance and its real economic value. However, to date there is scarcity in the studies of Islamic financial literacy in Malaysia. This is proven when Kayed (2008) queries if there are any attempts by the research community to assess levels of Islamic financial literacy in various Muslim communities. These issues have actually motivated the current study to review available literatures on financial literacy mainly focusing on the Islamic financial literacy. The objectives of this study are (i) determine if the bankers possess adequate financial literacy to undertake financial decision with respect to Islamic financial products and services, and (ii) identify the significant factors that influence Islamic financial literacy among bankers. Factor analysis is used in order to identify those factors that indicate banker’s Islamic financial literacy. The findings reveal that nine factors determine banker’s financial literacy on Islamic financial products and services

    Di dalam Islam elemen patuh kepada shariah adalah keutamaan bagi setiap muslim di dalam setiap aktiviti di dalam kehidupan mereka. Panduan shariah meliputi aspek ekonomi, ibadat, perundangan, kemasyarakatan dan hubungan antarabangsa. Perbezan jelas diantara kefahaman kewangan konvensional dan Islam yang di ukur mengunakan pendekatan literasi kewangan adalah dari aspek pematuhan shariah. Berdasarkan perbezaan ini, kajian yang dilakukan oleh para sarjana berkaitan Literasi Kewangan (LK) adalah dalam bentuk kajian kes dan kajian literatur adalah sangat meluas. Namun begitu, kajian berkenaan Literasi Kewangan Islam (LKI) mula mendapat tumpuan sejak 2010. Oleh itu kajian ini cuba menganalisis kajian lepas berkaitan literasi kewangan Islam memandangkan LKI merupakan bidang kajian yang agak baru dalam dunia penyelidikan berbading literasi kewangan yang telah mantap dari aspek teori dan dapatan kajian. Berdasarkan kepada kajian lepas dan dapatan kajian oleh para sarjana, kajian ini cuba menyelidik beberapa konsep yang sesuai untuk mengukur literasi kewangan Islam selari dengan kehendak shariah. Perkara asas di dalam Islam seperti rukun iman, Islam dan hukum hakam asas dalam setiap aktiviti muslim cuba di ketengahkan. Selain itu beberapa konsep penting di dalam muamalat dan ekonomi Islam seperti konsep perlindungan di dalam Islam, Konsep tabungan di dalam islam, pinjaman dari persepktif Islam, Konsep jaminan dalam Islam, Konsep perwakilan (wakalah) dalam Islam dan pembersihan kekayaan di dalam Islam cuba di ketengahkan sebagai satu kaedah pengukuran literasi kewangan Islam.     News Reporting of Injury Prevalence in Football: A Study of Selected Nigerian Online Newspapers

    Despite the importance of football as an effective means of developing physical activity and fitness, routine data of football-related injuries are either inadequate or underreported, particularly in Nigeria. To develop an understanding of the football-related injuries and determine the prospects for prevention, logical and useful information specifying the occurrence of these incidents is necessary. Using a content analysis of 94 football-related news articles, this study identified the most commonly reported football-related injuries in Nigerian newspapers and determined their extent of coverage from agenda-setting perspectives. Altogether, five national newspapers with the highest readership and online popularity were selected using purposive sampling. Only football-related news articles were collected from the respective websites of the newspapers using internet-based searches between January 2015 and September 2019.The findings showed that knee, ankle, and hamstring are the most commonly affected locations in football-related injuries according to the news reports.This study shows that media-based analysis of football-related injuries could supplement other methods, such as prospective and retrospective analyses, particularly in the Nigerian context

    Supplier perceptions of dependencies in supplier–manufacturer relationship

    The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between supplier’s dependency and the relationship orientation of supplier-manufacturer relationship. The main tools of data collection instrument used was a questionnaire which was administrated to a total sample of 210 managers is classified by job title and respondents are also classified by their job functions are corporate executives, purchasing, manufacturing or production, material, and operation from Malaysia electrical and electronic manufacturing industry.The response rate was 26% while 96% were usable questionnaires. Sample selection was based on random sampling.The data were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and correlation between independent and dependent variables. The analyses involved statistical methods such as reliability and validity tests and multiple regressions. The findings show that the supplier perceives dependency has a significant relationship with relationship orientation statically

    Urban Household Credit Card Debt Behaviour in East Malaysia: A Conceptual Framework

    ABSTRACT Society in the modern world nowadays see debt as something normal. Hence, household seems difficult to escape themselves from debt. Credit Counselling and Debt Management Agency (AKPK) recorded from 50,361 cases that enrolled in debt management program, 10.6 percent households could not pay their credit card debt while the remaining had repayment problem with housing loans, car loans and credit cards outstanding (Nie, 2010). The development of credit card facility as a medium of payment to buy goods and services also encourage household to spend beyond their means. Given the increase of cost of living like subsidy restructuring like petrol, increase in tariff electricity and also the implementation of Goods and Services Tax (GST) among the factors which induce the use of credit card to accommodate their cost of living. At the same time, credit card issuer such as financial and nonfinancial also contributed to the increase of household debt by giving easy terms and condition with low interest rate. Therefore the objective of this research is discuss on related literature reviews and follows by the development of conceptual framework that determine urban household credit card debt by integrating psychological factors, bank's policy factors and socio-demographic factors. Next, this paper also will discuss methodology instrument that will be used for this study
