    Learning games creation: IMIE model

    In this article, we propose a new model for the learning games design, which aims to enrich and solve the problems of existing models. From the work carried out around the models of educational games, we carefully identify a series of steps to follow, taking into account the simplicity, ease of adaptation and the integration of several factors interest such as the integration of a set sub-models treated pedagogically define the pedagogical side in the game, also the distribution of the intervening necessary for each of the stages to ensure better collaboration between them, for the purpose to helping the creators to trace their path from the start of the creation, in order to achieve the best example of games with an adequate oscillation pedagogical-fun, that will meet the requirements of existing classical teaching methods

    A Self-Calibration Method of Zooming Camera

    In this article we proposed a novel approach to self- calibrate a camera with variable focal length. We show that the estimation of camera’s intrinsic parameters is possible from only two points of an unknown planar scene. The projection of these points by using the projection matrices in two images only permit us to obtain a system of equations according to the camera’s intrinsic parameters . From this system we formulated a nonlinear cost function which its minimization allows us to estimate the camera’s intrinsic parameters in each view. The results on synthetic and real data justify the robustness of our method in term of reliability and convergence

    A New Local Descriptor Based on Strings for Face Recognition

    This paper proposes the use of strings as a new local descriptor for face recognition. The face image is first divided into nonoverlapping subregions from which the strings (words) are extracted using the principle of chain code algorithm and assigned into the nearest words in a dictionary of visual words (DoVW) with the Levenshtein distance (LD) by applying the bag of visual words (BoVW) paradigm. As a result, each region is represented by a histogram of dictionary words. The histograms are then assembled as a face descriptor. Our methodology depends on the path pursued from a starting pixel and do not require a model as the other approaches from the literature. Therefore, the information of the local and global properties of an object is obtained. The recognition is performed by using the nearest neighbor classifier with the Hellinger distance (HD) as a comparison between feature vectors. The experimental results on the ORL and Yale databases demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed approach in terms of preserving information and recognition rate compared to the existing face recognition methods
