Integrable models: from dynamical solutions to string theory
We review the status of integrable models from the point of view of their
dynamics and integrability conditions. Some integrable models are discussed in
detail. We comment on the use it is made of them in string theory. We also
discuss the Bethe Ansatz solution of the SO(6) symmetric Hamiltonian with SO(6)
boundary.

Optimising Spectroscopic and Photometric Galaxy Surveys: Efficient Target Selection and Survey Strategy
The next generation of spectroscopic surveys will have a wealth of
photometric data available for use in target selection. Selecting the best
targets is likely to be one of the most important hurdles in making these
spectroscopic campaigns as successful as possible. Our ability to measure dark
energy depends strongly on the types of targets that we are able to select with
a given photometric data set. We show in this paper that we will be able to
successfully select the targets needed for the next generation of spectroscopic
surveys. We also investigate the details of this selection, including
optimisation of instrument design and survey strategy in order to measure dark
energy. We use color-color selection as well as neural networks to select the
best possible emission line galaxies and luminous red galaxies for a
cosmological survey. Using the Fisher matrix formalism we forecast the
efficiency of each target selection scenario. We show how the dark energy
figures of merit change in each target selection regime as a function of target
type, survey time, survey density and other survey parameters. We outline the
optimal target selection scenarios and survey strategy choices which will be

Remarks on Screening in a Gauge-Invariant Formalism
In this paper we display a direct and physically attractive derivation of the
screening contribution to the interaction potential in the Chiral Schwinger
model and generalized Maxwell-Chern-Simons gauge theory. It is shown that these
results emerge naturally when a correct separation between gauge-invariant and
gauge degrees of freedom is made. Explicit expressions for gauge-invariant

Large scale distribution of total mass versus luminous matter from Baryon Acoustic Oscillations: First search in the SDSS-III BOSS Data Release 10
Baryon Acoustic Oscillations (BAOs) in the early Universe are predicted to
leave an as yet undetected signature on the relative clustering of total mass
versus luminous matter. A detection of this effect would provide an important
confirmation of the standard cosmological paradigm and constrain alternatives
to dark matter as well as non-standard fluctuations such as Compensated
Isocurvature Perturbations (CIPs). We conduct the first observational search
for this effect, by comparing the number-weighted and luminosity-weighted
correlation functions, using the SDSS-III BOSS Data Release 10 CMASS sample.
When including CIPs in our model, we formally obtain evidence at of
the relative clustering signature and a limit that matches the existing upper
limits on the amplitude of CIPs. However, various tests suggest that these
results are not yet robust, perhaps due to systematic biases in the data. The
method developed in this Letter, used with more accurate future data such as
that from DESI, is likely to confirm or disprove our preliminary evidence.Comment: 6 pages, 2 figures, accepted for publication in PR
Anomalous Soft Photons in Hadron Production
Anomalous soft photons in excess of what is expected from electromagnetic
bremsstrahlung have been observed in association with the production of
hadrons, mostly mesons, in high-energy (K+)p, (pi+)p, (pi-)p, pp, and (e+)(e-)
collisions. We propose a model for the simultaneous production of anomalous
soft photons and mesons in quantum field theory, in which the meson production
arises from the oscillation of color charge densities of the quarks of the
underlying vacuum in the flux tube. As a quark carries both a color charge and
an electric charge, the oscillation of the color charge densities will be
accompanied by the oscillation of electric charge densities, which will in turn
lead to the simultaneous production of soft photons during the meson production
process. How the production of these soft photons may explain the anomalous
soft photon data will be discussed. Further experimental measurements to test

Improving Tenderness of Spent Layer Hens Meat Using Papaya Leaves (Carica papaya)
Two experiments were performed to study the use of papaya leaves as a meat tenderizer. The first experiment was to evaluate the effect of papaya dry leaves added to henâs diet before slaughter. Spent hens (n=48) were used, half of them were fed a concentrate ration containing10% dried papaya leaves powder (DPLP) while others received layer ration (Control), for 10 days. The second experiment involved a comparison between papaya leaves juice (PLJ), fresh papaya leaves (FPL) and vinegar solution (VS) as marinades applied to meat for one or two hours before cooking. Spent layer hens (n=42) were used for tenderness evaluation method. After slaughtering and preparing the chickens two methods of cooking were used (oven and moist cooking). The cooked parts (breast, thigh and drumstick) were subjected to a panel test evaluation according to a designed questionnaire. Addition of dried papaya leaves powder to spent layer hens ration significantly (Pâ€0.05) increased the level of meat tenderness. Moist cooking had significantly (Pâ€0.05) improved meat tenderization compared to oven cooking. Meat treated with fresh papaya leaves had significantly (Pâ€0.05) improved tenderness. It was concluded that wrapping the tough meat of spent layer hens with fresh papaya leaves for one hour and moist cooking improve tenderness of meat
Quasinormal modes of d-dimensional spherical black holes with a near extreme cosmological constant
We derive an expression for the quasinormal modes of scalar perturbations in
near extreme d-dimensional Schwarzschild-de Sitter and Reissner-Nordstrom-de
Sitter black holes. We show that, in the near extreme limit, the dynamics of
the scalar field is characterized by a Poschl-Teller effective potential. The
results are qualitatively independent of the spacetime dimension and field

One-round strong oblivious signature-based envelope
Oblivious Signature-Based Envelope (OSBE) has been widely employed for anonymity-orient and privacy-preserving applications. The conventional OSBE execution relies on a secure communication channel to protect against eavesdroppers. In TCC 2012, Blazy, Pointcheval and Vergnaud proposed a framework of OSBE (BPV-OSBE) without requiring any secure channel by clarifying and enhancing the OSBE security notions. They showed how to generically build an OSBE scheme satisfying the new strong security in the standard model with a common-reference string. Their framework requires 2-round interactions and relies on the smooth projective hash function (SPHF) over special languages, i.e., languages from encryption of signatures. In this work, we investigate the study on the strong OSBE and make the following contributions. First, we propose a generic construction of one-round yet strong OSBE system. Compared to the 2-round BPV-OSBE, our one-round construction is more appealing, as its noninteractive setting accommodates more application scenarios in the real word. Moreover, our framework relies on the regular (identity-based) SPHF, which can be instantiated from extensive languages and hence is more general. Second, we also present an efficient instantiation, which is secure under the standard model from classical assumptions, DDH and DBDH, to illustrate the feasibility of our one-round framework.
